  1. Nice you found all of those restaurants with good gluten-free options!!! My trouble is when I'm in Boonedock, USA and my choice is food from a tiny gas station!! Hubs is going to make this tonight: http://glutenfreeeasily.com/flourless-gluten-free-pizza/
  2. My kids started classes today...they have been helping with freshman orientation for the last week.
  3. Red Robin sells the gluten-free burgers they use. They are individually packaged so that is really nice. They taste pretty good and aren't as big as Udi buns from the grocery store.
  4. Usually they do the blood work first, if you are positive with that, then they may or may not do the scope.
  5. I use Kitchen Basics as well--before I needed to be gluten-free even. All of the grocery stores we shop at sells Kitchen Basics.
  6. I guess I disagree...from the Kraft letter on gluten-free labeling: "Kraft Foods products are labeled with very specific ingredient information to help you make accurate and informed choices. " To me "artificial flavorings" is not specific, not even close.... So, either it is gluten-free or it is not and the conflicting information is what is...
  7. Well, the woman at the ball park said that the hot dogs were gluten-free and they only grilled the meats on the grill. So far not symptoms of being glutened so maybe she was right. She was about 19 years old but seemed to at least have a clue. She took off her gloves before dishing up my hot dog. The woman at the beverage stand thought I was nuts asking...
  8. How do you know they do not have Celiac? They could just not be symptomatic yet. My nice was tested as an add on to other testing and her TGG Iga was 130 with no symptoms at all. She was also biopsy positive. The gene testing is pretty much useless without the TTG IgA, IgG testing and perhaps biopsies. I would get both kids tested for the TGG tests and...
  9. I start my busy work season here soon and will be in hotels pretty much every night Sept-November. I'm planning on staying in places that have a kitchen and I got a plug in cooler for the car and will just cook for myself on the road. I can't afford to be sick since I meetings with clients every day that can't be rescheduled. It's going to be interesting...
  10. That link didn't work for me but I found it here Open Original Shared Link
  11. Hummm...my step-mom has a Vita-Mix she doesn't use
  12. The gene testing really won't tell you much but you should have the kids testes for the IgA, IgG tests. It's likely they will have one or more gene but that doesn't mean they are Celiac. If you are going to spend the money, spend it on the other testing first.
  13. Did your GI tell you to go back on gluten foods for the testing? If you do not, your results will not be accurate. Your body is amazing and will repair itself under the right conditions, no gluten if that is the case.
  14. Problem I have is the various tortilla shells and rice and whatever are LOADED with calories. It's great if you are trying to gain weight, but for those of us that gained weight due to Celiac can't eat much of that stuff. I'm dreading winter and the food bill when all of the cheap veges and fruits are gone...
  15. I've been drinking grapefruit juice with a little lemon juice and Triple Sec. It's supposed to be a Margarita but I just skipped the Tequila. Very good!!
  16. What I've been told via email or reading on websites is that when it comes to the processing of the "artificial flavoring" that they don't know what is in there because they get that from other suppliers so they can't or won't label products as gluten-free. If you search, posts from this site, from a long time ago though, say it isn't gluten-free. So, is...
  17. It is imperative that you eat gluten free all the time or you won't get better. Go out to eat, but only go places that can guarantee gluten free eating. Not sure where you live but places like Red Robin, Bonefish Grill, etc. have dedicated practices to ensure no cross contamination. More and more local restaurants have sprung up all over that are the same...
  18. My shopping app flagged my Kraft Zesty Italian dressing as containing gluten. It flagged the artificial flavors. No where on the bottle did it say Gluten Free. No where on their gluten-free labeling online do they mention artificial flavors as gluten-free or not.....this of course after I ate some not realizing the artificial flavors were possibly an issue...
  19. Trying to decide what to eat. I'm thinking ribs again?? It's nice out so I want to take advantage of the grill as much as I can . Hubs has some fish he's been meaning to grill, maybe he can do that and I'll do chicken breasts??
  20. Without knowing the range the lab used, it's hard to say if it's "normal" or not. My lab would have called you a weak positive and then referred you for further testing because lab errors could account for the 14 vs 10 or less that would signal a negative. I would guess, given the GI's reaction, that your other tests were in normal ranges?? I would call...
  21. Constant fatigue, which is mainly what I made my dr appointment for to begin with--among a few other things, but not for D as I had had loose stools for as long as I can remember and just thought it was how I was . Since I've been gluten-free for a while, much less gas and not as puffy-face, fingers, feet. The U of Chicago has a list of 300 symptoms but...
  22. Have they run an immune panel, IgA, IgG (and subclasses), IgM, IgE, etc.? A lot of your symptoms could be attributed to immune deficiency as well. I think it would be wise to go to a clinic like Mayo and have doctors across many specialties look at you at the same time and see what they can piece together. They see all of the very weird things so it's...
  23. You have to look at your general physician for what his/her role is in your care. They are there for your basic care, physicals, minor injuries/illnesses, initial testing, etc. but then they are to refer you on if you need a specialist. They are there to coordinate your care, but not to treat everything. My daughter has a team of 5 or so doctors outside...
  24. I think I am one of the few here that tested positive for every test, the IGA, IGG, genes, biopsy, etc. I would also say that I am one of the least symptomatic people here too....so you just never know. . I was being tested for other things and my dr tossed in the Celiac testing. My only real symptom was D. I had other symptoms that I didn't know where...
