  2. Another comment....the biggest disservice ignorant doctors do is tell a patient "You don't have celiac disease, so you can eat gluten." NOT TRUE!!! What they should be telling this patient is "You don't have celiac disease so your villi show no damage. However, you are probably gluten sensitive and you should still go on a gluten free diet."

    I bloat from soy even though I did not test as sensitive to soy. Even gluten free soy sauce makes me bloated and ill. I just avoid soy as much as I can. Cheese could bloat you up....it does me if I have very much. Ultimately, if you are bloating up I'd say you've got some other intolerances going on. I found with myself that I'm sugar/carb sensitive...
  9. I absolutely LOVE potatoes, but they kill me and I've reluctantly had to give them up. Ultimately, the joy from eating them isn't worth the suffering later.....the very worst combination is potatoes with a protein such as steak. I simply cannot digest them together.   10. I have a dreadful time not only going to sleep, but staying asleep. I recently read that you should take about 500 mg magnesium AND 500 mg calcium an hour or so before bed. I swear it's helping me.....I've been going to sleep fairly easily, and best of all, I don't wake up over and over. Perhaps there's a connection, I'd like to think this this is working...
  11. I had sporadic but terrible leg cramps fairly regularly, and all that disappeared when I went gluten free AND I'm also supplementing magnesium regularly, which I didn't do before. I think both things helped.
  12. I most definitely had a non-stop form of asthma for a good 20 years.....but doctors could never seem to diagnose it. But I started using inhalers and later things like Avalide to control symptoms (not very well, I might add). Going gluten free pretty much eliminated the problem, and I haven't used any sort of inhaler for over a year.
  13. For what it's worth, my mom is Rh negative, and she has two celiac genes (and got extremely ill before she got diagnosed).

    Incomplete information gets out there, and people know it's good to not eat flour, but they don't exactly know why. And they certainly don't know about celiac or gluten sensitivity. Or they may know some people are sensitive to gluten, but they don't know the specifics and don't know it could also lead to celiac disease.

    I just tried Jay Robb's vanilla egg white protein--24g per scoop, 0g fat, 2g carb, sweetened with stevia. It's quite good, but expensive. I ordered a small one to try it out, but it's cheaper to order the big 80oz size. I've heard his whey protein is good, too.
