  1. You can skip the cheese for pizza crust. Add 1 tbsp baking powder, though.
  2. Same liquid to cereal ratio? How long does it take?
  3. Anyone know if you can nuke it?
  4. I think Cool Whip has soybean oil in it as well. Soy can be very hard for many to digest as well...
  5. My fave is the roasted red pepper vinagrette
  6. Arrowhead Mills' puffed corn made me sick, which is a shame because it's delicious. My understanding of Arrowhead Mills is that if something is labeled Gluten Free it is made in a dedicated facility and the gluten content of finished products is checked regularly. If it does not specifically say Gluten Free, it may not be. Someone correct me if I...
  7. I've eaten Welch's fruit snacks with no problems. Swedish Fish are gluten free. So are Sour Patch Kids, Jelly Belly jelly beans and Starburst jelly beans. Happy snacking!
  8. Does anyone know of any restaurants that can prepare gluten free food in the Portland area? I'm traveling there in October. I'll have a kitchen and I'll probably prepare most of my own meals. But what's a vacation without a few dinners out, right? Thanks!
  9. Mmm...Amanda, let us know what that brand is!
  10. That sounds really good. Where do you find that bread?
  11. Dude, mine came out completely flat too!! It was like the potato starch disappeared and the butter and sugar just carmelized! I'm wondering if there's a difference between gas and electric stoves...
  12. Ok, here's another question. Perky O's are also BOGO. Do they taste anything at all like Cheerios?? Man I miss Cheerios...
  13. Sorry, local to Western New York... Are they good?
  14. My local health food store has them buy one get one free (!) this week and I was thinking of trying them. Anyone had them?
  15. Thanks, Ursula! Good to know that Valerian is good for menstrual cramps and nervous stomach too!
  16. I was just wondering if Valerian is safe to take daily. I must win some kind of record for being the world's lightest sleeper and I live in one of the world's noisiest neighborhoods. Needless to say, with the windows open, I haven't been sleeping well lately. Last night I popped a Valerian. I still woke up frequently, but I was able to fall right back...
  17. Weddings. What the heck do you do at wedding receptions? (I mean when you are a guest, not your own reception. My own wedding reception will be entirely gluten and soy free!) And what do you do when a food-obsessed/OCD/bipolar/emotionally disturbed thirteen year old boy CONSTANTLY asks what you can and cannot eat? I guess maybe that last one would...
  18. I'm thinking mostly the social aspect of this disease. How to eat out at a restaurant with friends, for instance. Or for those in the 20ish and up range, how to deal with issues surrounding eating and work situations. Are you giving a talk next year??
  19. I too have this embarassing problem. I tried the oral Lamasil, but it made me HORRIBLY sick to my stomach and I just couldn't bear the thought of 6 months of that or however long you have to take it for. Then my doctor gave me a prescription for Ketokonazole (or something like that) cream which I think is normally used to treat ringworm and fungal infections...
  20. I don't think it resembles ANY cheese or cheese product. Sorry, but I vote yuck
  21. Mango, do you know of any gluten free and SOY free waffles??
  22. For real? Scary...
  23. For those of you that are also reactive to soy, what do your reactions look like? I'm starting to suspect that I'm reacting even stronger to soy than I am to gluten, and DANG does soy hide in a lot of places! Does anyone have a soy-free chocolate recommendation? I can handle giving up wheat pasta, but CHOCOLATE??
  24. I recently discovered nuts to be a source of bloating for me...
  25. Is open chicken souvlaki generally safe? I'm not positive, but isn't the marinade oil and vinegar and spices???
