  1. Glad that she is doing better!!! Sounds like you found the problem and took care of it. I hope that she continues to feel good!
  2. I use Neutrogena face soap, foundation, powder, blush and lip gloss. I use Suave shampoo, conditioner and hair spray.
  3. I am not sure whether or not all yogurt is safe. I would make sure to read the label. Yoplait is made by General Mills, one of the companies that should be clearly marking gluten.
  4. Well, the end result is the same, a gluten-free diet. Gluten intolerant doesn't mean that you will progress to Celiac (villi damage), but it doesn't mean that you won't either. Were you diagnosed by biopsy? If so, that is the gold standard for diagnosing Celiac for now. There are lots of people who have been diagnosed by positive bloodwork and positve...
  5. Here are the tests: Antigliadin IgA (AGA IgA) Antigliadin IgG (AGA IgG) Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase IgA (TTG) Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) Total Serum IgA I agree, that if you had been off gluten, the tests could be negative. You would have to go back on gluten for a significant period of time (at least a month, eating the equivalent...
  6. I agree with Ursula. The allergist will not be able to help with all of the symptoms you listed. I just went to the allergist a few weeks back and mentioned the Celiac and he didn't really have much to say about it. Here are the panel of tests you should make sure are run: Anti-gliadin IgA (AGA IgA) Anti-gliadin IgG (AGA IgG) Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase...
  7. Poor little guy!! I agree with the others, give the gluten-free diet a try and see if he improves. Some say that testing on kids so young is not reliable also.
  8. That sounds great!!!!
  9. Do you like tuna? You could do tuna salad wrapped in romaine lettuce leaves with a slice of bacon or turkey bacon. I do lots of beans and rice with cheese and tomato on top. Grilled chicken salad made at home and brought to work?
  10. Hmmm...my numbers were AQ= 38 EQ=24 SQ= 54
  11. I am sorry that you haven't really gotten any answers. I also agree with nini.....it certainly won't hurt to try the diet at this point and either there won't be a change or she will improve. It won't hurt any testing at this point either. Good luck and please keep us posted on how your little sweetie is doing.
  12. That is awesome that she is improving so quickly!! I agree with the others....don't know that I would do the gluten challenge. I don't have an official DX either, but I don't care. I know that gluten makes me sick, that is enough for me. I tested the waters by eating 1 triscuit and was sick. My kids ped had wanted me to have an official dx before...
  13. I have seen it before at Meijer, but never did buy it. I will have to see if it is still there next time I go. I agree....cereals like this come and go. I can always depend on my Cocoa Pebbles, though.
  14. Aww....thanks Patti! You are so sweet
  15. AMAZING!!!! They have a list of all Meijer brand products that are gluten-free in their store...it is 20 pages long, but very helpful. They have UPCs and other allergens listed too. Here is the link: Open Original Shared Link
  16. I ate lots of bland foods. I did eat plain meats (chicken, steak, salmon), potatoes, brown rice, cheese (with Lactaid), black beans. I could eat well cooked corn or peas, but that is about the extent of it. I had to stop eating salads b/c they were just too hard on my stomach. I didn't season my food very much at all except for a little salt & pepper...
  17. During the first month or 2 of going gluten-free I wasn't able to have very many fruits or veggies at all...they all gave me lots of gas & bloating. Also, I had to cut out all carbonated beverages, especially those with artificial sweetners. Now I can eat a lot more stuff and be comfortable than I could back in Jan/Feb. Could dairy be a problem for...
  18. It is awesome that they went to those lengths. I get really excited when I get those type of responses too. I emailed a restaurant that we want to visit when we go on vacation the other day and the manager not only sent me an email right back, but called me to go over the menu and spent a good 10 minutes with me on the phone!!! I was very impressed....
  19. Maybe you could test again in a week or have your dr run a blood test. I couldn't walk down the fabric softener/air freshener/detergent aisle when I was pregnant...made me gag!
  20. Forgot to answer some of your other questions...sorry! Malt vinegar is not okay. You can find lists for Forbidden Foods and Safe Foods on this site https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid...-49106487062.6e Also, you can find lists of foods that are confirmed gluten-free on the delphi forums......I don't have the link readily available, but...
  21. Hi Rachelle!! Welcome! Your story sounds a lot like mine, although I did get a positive on one of the blood tests, but went gluten-free without speaking to the gastro first. Then, of course, the gastro wanted me back on gluten to biopsy. I was feeling so good that I opted not to at that point in time. I did consider it recently, though, b/c my kids...
  22. Hope that you find some answers soon!! Good for you for standing up and demanding that the drs find what is causing all of your problems. Hang in there!! This is a great place to learn lots of good and important info.
  23. SO glad that your daughter is doing better! What a rough road it has been for you all! ((HUGS)) The best investment that I have made has been the Triumph Dining Cards. The are laminated cards that spell out what we can and can't eat for the staff at restaurants. They come in different languages for different cuisines, too! I ordered the book that goes...
  24. I lived in Centerville about 10 years ago for a few months when I was prego with DS! Small world! I didn't realize that Skyline was gluten-free! I love fries and will have to try theirs! There is one right up the street from me! Thanks for sharing that!
