  1. My Mom is actually in Kettering. Montgomery Inn was one of the first things I had when I went gluten-free. I usually buy it at Kroger or Meijer and make ribs or chicken at home with it! YUM!! We have a Mitchell's Fish Market about 5 miles from our house, I have yet to try it since going gluten-free. I do miss eating at Bob Evans...used to...
  2. LOVE these!!! I couldn't not keep them in the house...all the non-gluten-free people were all over them!! I need to get some more and hide them.
  3. Ah, yes! My Mom lives in Dayton, so I have heard of Mason before.
  4. Another IBS person here. Several drs told me that is what I had......I kept talking about diarrhea, food intolerances, constipation, gas and worsening lactose intolerance. They kept telling me to increase my fiber intake via whole grains (wheat). It just made me sicker. My current PCP is more willing to accept that IBS isn't the final answer and that...
  5. Since going gluten-free I have had some weird issues with my period as well. I did go to my gyn who ran a bunch of tests to make sure nothing was wrong. I agree with the other posters about going to make sure all is okay. Now I seem to have stabalized somewhat. They were coming every 18 days, then 35 days, then super heavy. Now I hope that I am back...
  6. I LOVE Cheeseburger in Paradise and have eaten there twice now since I have been gluten-free. The house dressing is amazing...great salad! I love their fries (and fries in general) and burgers. They have been very helpful both times I have eaten there and I haven't gotten sick. They told me both times that their fries are made in a dedicated fryer. I...
  7. Well, I tried the Cherry Pie and after 1 bite, I threw it out. I do have an Apple Pie one to try, but I have been hesitant to try it. I think the Pecan Pie sounds good. Maybe I'll have it for snack today and give it another try.
  8. I have read that it can take up to 1-2 years to completely heal. It is great that your pain is gone, hopefully the D will come to an end in the near future too. You many want to go back through the foods you have been eating, just to double check. I always do that if I am not feeling good, just to rule it out. Hang in there! It took years for the...
  9. ((((((HUGS))))))))) I will keep Tianna in my thoughts and prayers.
  10. 1.) Have you been officially diagnosed with any blood sugar condition (ie. Diabetes type 1 or 2, reactive or fasting hypo, impaired glucose tolerance, etc.)? No, was tested years ago, but all was fine. 2.) If you haven’t been diagnosed, what are you symptomatic of? Low blood sugar, usually in the morning between breakfast & lunch. I get s...
  11. It is starting to make me really angry that drs dismiss people if they aren't losing weight or having the "Classic" symptoms! The symptoms sound very suspect to me. If the bloodwork was positive, she has it. On a side note here, I watch a little boy who is almost 2.5. He has had constipation issues from the time he was a baby and has been on a perscription...
  12. I started having food related issues about 10 years ago, after the birth of my son. They progressively got worse and my dr at the time pretty much blew me off. I figured out myself that I had issues with seeds, raw onions and peppers and omitted them from my diet. I still had times, though, that I couldn't figure out what was making me sick (D and severe...

    ARCHIVED Nutritionist Appointment

I think I got lucky...my nutritionist is the one who suggested that I be tested for Celiac while seeing her for my eating disorder. We talked a lot about my "IBS" and food intolerances and she suggested the blood tests. Once I went gluten-free, though, she has some info, but not nearly as much as I was able to get myself with some research. When I went...
  14. I was just coming here to ask or search about being cold all the time. It is in the 70s here today and I am freezing still......sweatshirt over a shirt and capri pants. I am not underweight, thryroid is fine. I am getting tired of dressing like it is still winter! LOL!
  15. Sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing!
  16. Bumping to see if anyone knows. I am going to email Con-agra, but am pretty sure that I will get the form letter response. TIA!
  17. I used to have them all the time before going gluten-free, but (knocking on wood) have only had 1 since going gluten-free about 4 months ago. The originally were set off by taking antibiotics, but then I would get them for no apparent reason....it was ridiculous and $$ b/c only the strong perscription stuff would get rid of them. Not sure if gluten intolerance...
  18. Here is what I do.....it doesn't have any onions, garlic or peppers in it, though, b/c I am intolerant to all of them. I used brown basmati rice (from Trader Joe's...you could use any rice) and black beans from a can (you can buy plain or seasoned...Bush's are gluten-free). I then top with shredded cheddar and diced tomatoes. I season with just salt and...
  19. I know that in the beginning it was very up for a while and then down. It was a lot of learning and then I found out that I was intolerant to soy, too. The longer I am gluten-free, the better I feel. I do have bad days on occasion, though, and I go back to my labels and possible CC. Hang in there!!
  20. Have some Krispy Kremes for me!!! Anyway, I asked my gastro how much gluten and for what period of time I would have to eat it for a challenge and she said 4 pieces of bread (or the equivalent) for at least 4 weeks, if not longer. She was tellling me this when I had been gluten-free for 3 weeks and low gluten (South Beach/low carb) for 8 months before...
  21. any Eckrich products on it. They say on their list that they list obvious wheat, but don't say anything about barley....the flavorings concern me that are in the polish sausage and hot dogs. Anyone know?? TIA!! Getting ready to head out to the store.
  22. I have been using Zantac 75 and it works great. It doesn't help with gas, though. You can take the Gas-X gel caps, but not the chewables. Good luck!
  23. I hope that you get some answers so that your daugther can get some relief. Even if the blood test isn't conclusive, it may still be worth giving the gluten-free diet a try.
  24. This happens to me, usually in the AM about 10:00 (3 hours after breakfast) if I don't have a snack. I probably should eat more protein for breakfast instead of gluten-free waffles and syrup. What do you eat for breakfast? Maybe you could add more protein in to see if that helps?
  25. That is awesome!! So glad that you found a great dr!! Hope you are feeling better soon!
