  1. It could be milk, soy or another intolerance. You may want to go on a very basic diet...meat, veggies, fruit or something along those lines and keep a food diary. Lots of people talk about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet as being one that could help too. Good luck! I had to cut way back on dairy (and take Lactaid) and cut out soy shortly after I went...
  2. If you are up for baking with a mix, the Gluten-Free Pantry Favorite Sandwich Bread is very good and reminds me of my Grandmother's homemade bread.
  3. Thanks guys...I appreciate the info. Just another drug to add to my list of many that have some sort of nasty reaction...LOL!
  4. On Sunday I had an allergic reaction to something and ended up going to Urgent Care for it. My throat was itching and it was more difficult to swallow. They gave me a steroid shot (solumedrol) and a 5 day pack of Medrol to take. It didn't even cross my mind to make sure the shot was gluten-free, but now I am wondering a couple of things. 1. Could that...
  5. I have been getting the tingly lips lately, too, after eating certain things and I think that oranges were one of them. I can't keep track anymore...so many things are causing issues...LOL! I do have hypoglycemia, though, and there are only limited things that I can eat for a snack and oranges are one of them. It may be the hypoglycemia causing my tingly...
  6. That is awesome! Sounds like a fun time!
  7. Thanks for the recommendation! I just bought some yesterday to make for a family function this coming Saturday! I got the Cherrybrook Kitchen Chocolate frosting to go on top. Can't wait to try it!
  8. I am so sorry. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I have suffered on & off with an eating disorder for years. It is a tough battle and will continue to be one for the rest of my life. I am glad that she is in a place where she can receive the help that she needs. ((((((HUGS))))))))))

    ARCHIVED Red Robin

I have had some of my best gluten-free experiences at Red Robin (2 different ones). The first time they printed out their gluten-free menu for me and told me what I could and couldn't have and cooked my burger in a seperate pan and confirmed that their fries are in a dedicated fryer. I go to my local one all the time now and the manager always checks my...
  10. These cookies are fantastic, Thought I would share as these cookies ROCK and remind me of Pecan Sandies!
  11. I was just in Atlanta at the end of March to see my sis and went out to eat a few times. We went to Stone Mountain and did eat at Miss Katie's Sideboard Restaurant. They had very little for me to choose from, but I did have a burger, no bun and some green beans. I am not completely convinced the green beans were safe (lots of flavorings) and they didn...
  12. Not sure, but I have found that I get quicker results from Meijier by emailing them. I think you can go to their website and look for the Contact info. The last time I called them, I never did get a response. I have been able to verify quite a few of their products recently via email, though. Good luck!
  13. Atkins shakes are labeled gluten-free........here is a link: Open Original Shared Link Hope this helps! Not sure if that would be too much milk or not......they list the ingredients on the site.
  14. Thanks Patti...me too!!! That could have made me nice and miserable! LOL!!
  15. UPDATE: Spoke with Ore-Ida/Heinz today and they confirmed that they are not on the gluten-free list, but she couldn't tell me why. They don't contain wheat, so it must be barley in the flavoring? There aren't any spices or flavorings listed, unless "disodium dihydrogen pyrophosphate" is one. Anyway, I am taking them back to the store to exchange for...
  16. I am so stinkin' excited! Yes, I knew it was gluten-free, but it is so exciting when companies actually put "gluten-free" on the product! I don't know for how long they have been putting it on there....only that in Jan when I went gluten-free it wasn't on the bottle and now it is!
  17. Thanks Patti! I juse went to their website and they don't list any steak fries now! I am very confused. I skipped them for tonight, but am going to call them tomorrow to double check. My kids can at least eat them if I can't. Boy, I was really looking forward to them too.
  18. Okay, I saw that Heinz has a gluten-free list and does list the Ore Ida Steak Fries, but they are the 3.75 lb bag, not the 28 oz bag. I didn't realize this when I was at the store. The sku or plu number is not the same either. I don't see any possible gluten containing ingredients, though. Here they are (label does say "Contains Soy": Potatoes, vegetable...
  19. Oh no!!! I am so sorry that you are feeling so badly! I hope that you are feeling better soon! (((HUGS)))
  20. I have a Zojirushi and love it. It is heavy duty and has 2 paddles. I have never made bread without a bread machine and am not a baker, other than cookies, so I needed it. I use Gluten-Free Pantry's Favorite Sandwich Bread Mix for bread.....it is awesome and reminds me of my Grandma's bread. Hope this helps!
  21. Jeanne......I have no doubt that if I do have to do it with my son that it will be hard. The one thing that I have going for me (and him) is that he does like lots of gluten-free items and is always begging to eat my food. The hard thing for him will be going without some of his current favs forever.....real pizza, double cheeseburgers at McDs (not that...
  22. Thanks for the support, Patti. It helps to know that I am not over-reacting. I am sorry that you suffered for so long. Vicki ~ thanks for that info! I will do some research and see if I can't find that article and print it to bring along with me. I don't think going gluten-free would be that big of a deal to DS as he is always after my gluten-free...
  23. Long story short.....found out I was possible Celiac on 1/9/2006...went gluten-free 1/13/06. Felt positive dietery response almost immediately. Gastro wanted to do an endocscopy with biopsy, but I was already gluten-free and wasn't willing to torture myself just to rule in Celiac, but not rule it out. Bottom line, I obvioulsy can't have gluten. Asked...
  24. ((((HUGS))))) I don't have much advice b/c my sister is very similar to your best friend. Telling me just to pick the croutons out of my salad, take the bun off my burger, etc. She and I are very close, but that really does drive a wedge between us. I will say that she did respect my gluten-free diet when I stayed with her for a week, but ignored some...
  25. Thanks so much Chelsea! I agree...lots of effort! DH loves lasagna and is complaining that I haven't made it in over a year. Hope he likes the gluten-free version! I was certainly not putting all that work in using noodles that I couldn't eat! LOL!!
