  1. there's an integrative doctor by me who my sister (whose medical problems dwarf mine) went to for a while... she's well respected in the medical community and is knowledgable about homeopathy, leaky gut, etc... I'm going to check with her to see if she knows a doctor who specializes in detoxing metals... I'm also going to check with a few other doctors/nutritionists...
  2. I have a couple questions about getting started on looking into mercury toxicity: how do I go about finding a doctor in my area (preferably one that's top of the line and really knows what they're doing) that will test for and detox mercury? and what exactly is tested to determine mercury toxicity? I would think that urine and blood won't show much...
  3. in the studies that I've seen testing the hair of kids for mercury after getting vaccinations, kids who aren't being diagnosed with autism average around 3.5 (I forget the unit) whereas the kids with autism average around 0.5... there was also a correlation found between the lower the mercury content in hair with the more severe the case of autism... apparently...
  4. isn't the issue with molds moreso on fresh vegetables as opposed to frozen vegetables? I would think you should be okay cooking frozen veggies and eating them within a day.. they might not be as healthy and nutrient-filled as fresh veggies but it might be a better alternative in regards to the molds concern as for eating beef everyday, I don't know...
  5. also, in respect to buying nuts out of bins, nuts can go bad after a shorter amount of time than you might expect... I just pulled this off a site real quick: "Nuts go stale, and even rancid, very quickly, because their polyunsaturated fats break down easily."... it's possible, maybe even likely, that some of the nuts in bins have been there for quite some...
  6. I'm not so sure that Enterolab or any IGA and IGG tests can definitively show a permanent allergy, even for gluten, let alone dairy, soy, and egg... I believe all they indicate is that your body is currently producing antibodies to the given food... I'm of the opinion that there can be a number of reasons for your body to be producing these antibodies......
  7. I had a box of samoas that I ended up having to give away after I went gluten-free... assuming I can eat dairy and whatnot down the road, I'd buy gluten-free boxes of them and the tagalong joints (peanut butter and chocolate ones) with the quickness.. I'm sure a lot of others would as well
  8. I've seen coconut milk at Whole Foods, regular supermarkets, nutrition/health food stores... shouldn't be too hard to find, just ask someone working there if you don't see it I've been trying to find coconut milk with just coconuts and water (not any preservatives or guar gum) but I haven't been able to yet
  9. there are plenty of different ways to do an "elimination diet" and pros and cons as well... the basic premise of an elimination diet is to cut your diet down to a small set of foods, which are statistically less likely to be allergenic than other foods... it's generally recommended to rotate foods every few days and avoid leftovers for the most part... most...
  10. thanks for the info.. I've seen that pau d'arco tea thing mentioned a few places recently while doing some research and I've known that garlic is a natural antifungal for a while... I actually went out and bought some coconut oil a few days ago, cooked with it over the weekend... I'd still prefer to just take caprylic acid in vitamin form daily instead...
  11. For all I know, this may be common in most caprylic acid products to be free of these allergens, but I don't know... I went to 2 health food stores yesterday and one didn't have any caprylic acid in stock while the other had a couple but one had a mix of antifungals and probiotics as well as some other ingredients (I'm already taking a probiotic separately...
  12. depending on where in southern jersey you are, I'm not sure that there is enough of a market to sustain a gluten-free bakery business... not that I'm an expert or really qualified to gauge this... either way, I know a number of areas of southern jersey aren't that populated in comparison to central and northern jersey though I think they've been getting more...
  13. Threelac is just a probiotic? Guess I'll have to check out some info on it because I was under the impression it was an antifungal... surprised it really helps that much simply being a probiotic but that eases my concerns about it as I don't want to take any strong antifungals... as for taking probiotics/dig. enzymes, etc. I started taking a probiotic...
  14. I've heard good things in the past about threelac from a few people on this board (you probably being one)... I am going to try caprylic acid first as it is a milder antifungal and one my mother had success with years ago when she went on a candida diet... after my experiences with SF722, I'm hesitant to try any antifungal (stronger than caprylic acid) like...
  15. I was somewhat surprised to see reactions to all those foods I had purposely been avoiding but I'm very careful in avoiding cross contamination and whatnot. I find it highly unlikely that I could have gotten enough cc or some hidden source of all those foods (eggs, dairy, and gluten) to produce enough antibodies to test reactive. There were other foods...
  16. hopefully they took the time to make this beer actually taste better than budweiser I had a six pack of Bard's Tale a week ago and it was pretty good.. either that or I haven't had a real beer in too long and forgot what one should taste like... the Bard's Tale is also made from sorghum and is easy to find around me in jersey
  17. if I had known this a few days ago, there might have been some way to get gluten in his food so the Eagles could have beaten the Saints yesterday... though it really would have had to have been mccallister who was the celiac the way he ran all over the birds on a side note, earlier this year, Bobby Engram (a WR for the seahawks) was diagnosed with Graves...
  18. hope all goes well and you recover quickly
  19. I know there are different schools of thoughts on elimination diets vs. food allergy testing (both on this board and from nutritionists) but I personally did not find an elimination diet very helpful... I ended up getting an intolerance test done with Immunolabs a couple weeks ago for 115 foods (still awaiting the results)... in hindsight, I would have rather...
  20. also, any advice on what to drink at a bar to avoid all the allergens I listed (gluten, casein, soy, egg, and corn if possible)??? I'm guessing corn is probably the most difficult as sodas have corn syrup, right? and if some juices do as well, then I'll probably just take my chances at a bar with corn... but I'd really like to avoid the other allergens so...
  21. I saw on their website that their beer is sold at a number of places by me... do you know if the beer is free of casein, soy, and eggs in addition to corn and gluten? it appears to be from checking on their website but I'm not sure.. I contacted them to find out but don't know if they'll answer the email before tomorrow afternoon
  22. I think I posted this earlier this year but can't find the post right now... either way, anyone know which alcohol is safe to drink for intolerances to gluten, dairy, soy, and egg (and preferably without corn as well though not necessary)... and what mixers for that matter... been about 7 months too long since I last drank and that was the only time...
  23. Eagles beating the cowboys was more then enough for me...
  24. the original thread was "Is there a list anywhere" and I just replied to it to move it to the 1st page.. don't know the name of the mexican restaurant but I've been checking this forum for it as well
