  3. Linda ~ THANKS so much! I'll be trying these again!! Judy ~ Hope your appointment went well and you're munching on cookies now!!
  4. Hey ~ I finally tried these cookies... must be the egg sub, but they flattened immediately and get all hard on the edges/burnt. So... I put the rest in a square pan and baked them. They were delicious that way, but I should have cooked them a bit longer cuz the inside is a bit gooey. Vincent ~ what egg sub worked for these cookies?
  5. Was just coming here to post the same thing!! I'm going to order something for my daughter for Easter!!
  6. Oh WOW!! Where's the happy dance emoticon?!?! I'm gonna go find them!! THANK YOU!!
  7. I'm on a multi vitamin quest for my daughter too. So they are gluten and egg free. Are they also dairy free? The site did not list the ingredients.
  8. I just found this website today to check out.. Open Original Shared Link It looks really good. I am going to email to ask about wheat and will ask about gluten too. Will post their reply here..
  9. Open Original Shared Link I happened upon this link yesterday and they have a lot of good recipes (the bread came out WONDERFUL yesterday). I was wondering if anyone had tried their flours or had any comments. I only see BRM at the store and, frankly, it would be cheaper to order from them if it's safe to use.
  10. Deb ~ mine's a Sunbeam mixer too.. so YES!!
  11. I got this from my other allergy board...haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to. 1 whole chicken 1/4 cup flour of choice for thickening salt and pepper Instructions Place chicken in large pot of water, and bring to a boil. Turn heat down slightly, keeping at a low boil, and cook for hours. Remove and debone chicken. Either...
  12. My dd is also allergic to rice ~ on the RAST test, it was actually a tad higher than wheat. It's nice to find some others that are avoiding it as well.... it's so hard since rice seems to be in almost everything that is a WF/gluten-free alternative. I'm going to read the link in Ursula's siggy too..
  13. I just finished eating one of the rolls that I made for my dd this morning.... it is soo good and looks amazing too! They actually rose in the oven too! I followed the recipe almost exactly and will post my modifications.. Sorghum Bread - This recipe was developed by Bette Hagman for Twin Valley Mills, LLC. For other recipes using sorghum flour, check...
  14. Thanks Lorka ~ I'll go check those out... I would like to know the subs that worked for you too! Hope that you are feeling better! Patti ~ check out this link.Open Original Shared Link for sorghum flour too that I just got from my other allergy board... They've got recipes too. I think when I'm w/the BRM, I will order from them. ARCHIVED Wildfire!

Wow, Becky! That looks great... Can I ask it it was really expensive to eat there? It's not that far from me.
  18. Oh... please post them all I'm in the same boat w/my daughter.. Patti ~ Bob's Red Mill is the only sorghum I can get too.. I've been using it but would love to find another source to be safe.
  19. Lombard woman sues McDonald's over fries content Tribune staff reports Published February 17, 2006, 7:39 PM CST The news last week that McDonald's french fries contain wheat and milk ingredients has resulted in a lawsuit filed Friday against the Oak Brook-based company. 21. A little late, but how about melting some safe chocolate chips w/a little oil and putting them in a cute candy mold for yourselves? I bought a cheap little mold from Michaels this year and some Enjoy Life chocolate chips and did that for my daughter. She loved them! And, I am wondering why I never thought to do that before.
  22. Becky ~ I love DariFree... Carleigh will not drink it *straight* but likes it in smoothies and I've put it in muffins. As Patti said, it's a great creamer and for hot chocolate. WF does not carry it. Valley Natural Foods does, though. That's where I get it. Maybe one of the other co-ops up your way would have it?! Tastes much better than soy...
  23. Hi.. so what are your/her favorite products so far? I am DSO a bread recipe that I can make for her. Everything has rice in it (which she cannot have). I've been letting her have a little bit cuz the only pasta she likes is the Tinkyada. But, it seems to be constipating and giving her stomach aches.
  24. So a person w/a wheat allergy should also avoid, right?!
  25. Nicole, I made a pizza crust for my daughter the other night using the recipe from www.savorypalate.com I have made several that she didn't like, but she liked this one.
