  1. What's in a Larabar? Is it like a nutri-grain bar, sort of? If so, I have a recipe that I will post later that we have liked for a replacement.
  2. Sounds great... so the sugar is put in the mix too?
  3. Good Luck!! Let us know how it turns out! I looked @ that recipe once upon a time and had to pass it up b/c of the mayo and too many eggs to sub for! I'm going to try the cake that Liz recommends next time I need a cake. Pillsbury White Frosting has worked well for us!
  4. Bummer ~ can he have potato? Vance's Dari-Free is what I use. It's great that he's not fighting it as much. Carleigh isn't fighting it as much either... she loves to eat her sandwiches on romaine lettuce too. But she does like this bread too. I wonder how it would come out w/o the milk powder? I'm going to try your Apple Jack cookies this...
  5. Bummer! I hate when it spreads all over the cookie sheet!! Liz ~ did you ever try the sorghum bread recipe for him? I've been making it once/week for Carleigh. Today I made it as muffins w/the leftovers in a mini-loaf pan.
  6. Yes! They worked w/those chocolate chip cookies I made a few weeks ago.
  7. I modified that mix b/c we didn't like the corn flour so I have increased the tapioca flour and it seems to work.
  8. Thanks Jaten and Nini! Yes, she's worth it.. I just have to get used to the price of it... like all the other special priced foods! And, I need to find the pre-packaged stuff cuz I'm not doing the deli for her...
  9. Happy Birthday to your sweet girl!! Congrats on finding a dietician who can truly help you!
  10. I've just been using leftover meats for my dd's lunches lately too. However, today, my dh asked me to get some sliced deli meats for him to take to work with him. They had Applegate Farm turkey... I was at the price $11 something/pound!! Nini ~ is the pre-packaged cheaper than that? I gotta check our hfs and see if they have any prepackaged meat...
  11. ((HUGS)) ~ that's not a lot to work with! Sorry I don't have any recipes for you. I thought my dd's list was extensive!!
  12. Thanks for that recipe, Vincent!! I may have to add a new ice cream maker to my list of things I want
  13. I have thrown out a lot of bricks too. I recently found a recipe that my dd likes a lot. It is easily converted to dairy free and bakes in the oven. Liz ~ did you ever try this recipe? Sorghum Bread - This recipe was developed by Bette Hagman for Twin Valley Mills, LLC. For other recipes using sorghum flour, check out Bette’s book THE GLUTEN-F...
  14. My favorite egg replacer is 1 1/2T water, 1 1/2T canola oil, 1 tsp baking powder mixed together = 1 egg It works for up to 2 eggs
  15. Congratulations!! I so know how sweet that success is!! And the need to share w/other that really understand how awesome it is!!
  16. That looks yummy! I'm going to add that to my list of things to try w/Carleigh. I only try 1 new thing/week to see how she does.. The beets would be new to us and it'd have to have egg replacer though
  17. Everyone's already given you anything that I've thought of but please post whatever you do if it's good. and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I'm going to try that white cake that Liz linked to sometime this week.
  18. ROFL!! I've been taking them w/my kids too.. I will have to look for the calcium ones, though and Adult ones. I know Sam's Club did not have those or I'd have seen them. It's very nice not to have to fight w/them to take them too! Where did you find Rainbow Light? Maybe I should look for those for me.
  19. I just found/made the YUMMIEST Chicken Taco Soup... it did have beer in it so my dd didn't eat it. But I'm going to make it again w/Strongbow that was suggested as a beer subsitute. I'd be happy to post the recipe, if anyone wants it.
  20. I agree w/Patti ~ my daughter doesn't really care for it to drink straight, but loves it in things. It definitely is sweeter than milk. I usually make a cup w/the creamer recipe (1c. hot water to 1/3c DF) every morning. Use most of it to make a smoothie for her and then use whatever is left in my coffee or hot chocolate. I also bake w/it. Our new...
  21. Oh crap! I am trying a new recipe right now in the crockpot... I totally forgot that beer would be out!! Not something I think about cuz she's 7 years old, lol Guess the kids will be having something different from me tonight for dinner
  22. Hey ~ can I get that recipe too? Vincent ~ hope you can get them to get it.. Let me know if you change your mind. I was thinking regular mail wouldn't be that expensive.
  23. Vincent ~ on the $6.00 shipping!! I understand!! Hmmm.. I think I pay a little over $7.00 for mine. Would you like me to see how much it would cost to ship one to you? I can't imagine it would be $6.00!! It doesn't weigh much, it's powder.. Our health food store is a co-op, but anyone can shop there. There are just some monthly member specials...
  24. Thanks Carrie! I'll keep looking for it. I have tried Imagine Broth and didn't like it. Another question.. you have made me a lover of Mrs. Dash Original...are all the flavors gluten free?
  25. Patti ~ I'm so glad that you are still liking the Dari-free! I buy it from my little co-op HFS here. Whole Foods didn't carry it and neither does any of our grocery stores.. Order it from there website and try it! If I had more room to store, I'd order a case of it...
