  1. Just checking in on little Meg.. TCA still keeping you and your family in my prayers!
  2. Yes, that's the recipe I've been using.. I sub Darifree for the milk powder and 3T oil, 3 T. water and 2 tsp baking powder for the eggs. I made the hamburger bun by folding foil down and connecting it. Baked on a cookie sheet. (got that from Incredible Edible Gluten Free Cookbook). Did you try that recipe? Sorghum Bread - This recipe was developed...
  3. I finally went and got a Cuisinart ice cream maker and made Vanilla Dari Free ice cream today!! Oh man is that stuff good!
  4. Has anyone tried the Vance's whipped topping yet?
  5. We have never had a problem with them either. I did notice the last time I was at the store, though, that some bags (different varieties) had that warning and some didn't. I get the olive oil and sea salt ones or the julienne ones.
  6. Oh, THANK YOU! That sounds great! Now to find Herb Ox and apple pectin powder. Do you get it at the HFS? I'm determined to make this work again and will definitely let you know.
  7. I've been reading this thread w/interest but haven't posted yet. I have posted before a recipe that is pretty close to this that has worked for us. It doesn't work in a regular loaf pan, but I have made hamburger buns by using foil and making rounds that are great. For the rising, I have preheated the oven to the lowest setting (170 for me) and...
  8. Oh yes, please. I'd love the onion soup mix recipe!
  9. Thanks, Tink. I have looked at the boxed broths and thought they had MSG in them. It seemed to bother Carleigh. Same w/the Lipton Onion Soup Mix. Wonder what it would do w/some wine?
  10. I have a recipe from Allrecipes that my family loved for crockpot french dip sandwiches. It used beer, beef broth and Lipton Onion Soup Mix. I made it yesterday in the crockpot and subbed w/a bottle of Woodchuck draft cider, turkey broth, onions and Mrs. Dash. It just wasn't the same and the draft cider gave it a wierd taste. Does anyone have any...
  11. ((hugs)) and prayers for your family and Tianna!!
  12. ((TCA)) big hugs for you! Will say a prayer for you and your little girl!! I know the stress of feeding your child and then watching them be sick all night and walking the halls w/them. Hang in there and do accept any help that you can.
  13. Congrats!! Yes, please share the recipe..
  14. Patti ~ glad that it worked the same w/the Spectrum ~ I love that stuff ~ Vincent ~ sorry your cookies came out gummy...I think my recipe used Ener G egg replacer. Now I'm in the mood for chocolate chip cookies ~ will have to make some later!
  15. I also had a hard time w/cookies coming out flat and crumbly when using margarine and subbing for egg. I found a slightly different recipe that had gelatin in it, used Ener-G egg replacer and Spectrum Shortening instead and they turned out great! The recipe belongs to someone else, but I'd be glad to PM to anyone that wants it.
  16. My dd also did not like the nuggets, but loves the fish sticks. At the price they are, I'll stick to making my own nuggets/tenders and just buying the fish once in awhile.
  17. ((Mart)) ~ I've SO been where you are. We are also following cf and soy free diet. I believe that it takes a few weeks for dairy to totally get out of your system. Definitely give it a month.. We use the Vance's Dari-free...can't use the other milks.
  18. Wow.. I would have never thought to boil it.. I've got spaghetti squash on my shopping list for next week again. Carleigh is psyched to have "pasta" again!
  19. Wow Taffy...that's a great list! We've been egg-free for about 6 years and I used the oil/water/bp for most substitutions. Occasionally I'll use applesauce or gelatin. I do not like the EnerG egg replacer.
  20. I have not tried that exact recipe, but it's very similiar to the bread I make for Carleigh. I had that problem w/the regular loaf pans. Try making it and baking in muffin tins or mini-loaf pans for 30 minutes instead. That works for me.
  21. My dd does wear a Medic Alert bracelet, due to the many food allergies that she has. She is allergic to wheat, but the celiac tests they ran were not conclusive.
  22. We can't use the pre-mixes due to other allergies and don't own a bread machine. After trying numerous recipes, I found the one at this website to be the best for us... Open Original Shared Link Another tip that I have found very true is that bread turns out better if made in smaller pans (muffin tins, mini-loaf pans etc). I also preheat the...
  23. ROFLMBO!!
  24. Chrissy ~ I just heard an advertisement for Oprah today. She's having a lady that is struggling w/this too. It said she's 5'6 and is 80lbs and can barely lift her child. I thought of you and wanted to let you know about it. ((hugs))
