  1. Corn Crunch'ems! They taste like corn chex. I add toasted pecans or walnuts (or both!!) and a drizzle of honey....
  2. Thanks so much for posting this! I would not have even looked at the ingredient list since "cake" is in the name of the flavor, Be aware, though, that some of the light ice creams are not gluten-free--here are the ingredients for Edy's light French Silk INGREDIENTS: milk, skim milk, sugar, cream, corn syrup, chocolaty chips (sugar, coconut oil,...
  3. At least they leave! The Nasties here just go right on whispering, giggling, and looking at me. If I try to draw them into conversation ("hey, how's your baby?") , one of them will say, "Do you mind? We're talking." Ugh. (I'd take it the same way you do--it's seventh grade all over again. And it was bad enough the first time!)
  4. La Choy soy sauce and San-J wheat-free tamari are both gluten-free. Read labels carefully, as San-J has several gluten-containing tamaris.
  5. I've been at my job for 19 years, and most of the Nasties have been there around 10 years--and I feel like a stranger!
  6. The only foods that ever gave me acne as a teenager were those with sodium nitrite: bacon, ham, smoked turkey, hot dogs, etc. I seem to have outgrown it, though.
  7. I don't know if this helps you any, but I've noticed that my body odor is very different--and stronger--when I am stressed, ill, or injured.
  8. Is percoset a narcotic? I was given it (well, actually, endocet, the generic equivalent) after shoulder surgery, and had a terrible reaction to it that landed me in the hospital for 12 hours of cardiac tests, which is not the greatest way to recover from surgery. It didn't touch the pain, and gave me chest pain, nausea, dizziness, sweating, and dry heaves...
  9. No...I feel like my coworkers are stuck in junior high school mode--they sneak around complaining to the management about the coworkers they dislike (we are in a union, and they are not permitted to do that , but they do it anyway). I've seen so many of my colleagues get knifed in the back, your kindergarteners sound appealing. Maybe we can trade? I'm...
  10. Hi, Penguin! Glad to see you! I make your ranch chicken fingers (or fish) practically every week!
  11. Wow, those were some very intense threads.
  12. I'm the same way. In addition, if I don't exercise, I get extremely cranky.
  13. Well, one thing we all seem to have in common (besides celiac): WE'RE ALL STUBBORN!!!!! (or do I mean ?)
  14. If we are going to talk about "nettiquette" (LOVE that word, Michi! ), it seems like the "attackers" are using their perception of Srokie's attitude as justification for their own poor "nettiquette." Two wrongs do not make a right. As far as assuming a certain level of social skills, it has been discussed in other threads on this board how prevalent...
  15. I'm curious about the orgran--I miss muesli so much! What are the ingredients, do you know? Do they contain oats?
  16. Liz, does ghee cause you problems, too? And Rusla, did you ever try Kosher beef or organic (no hormones, no pesticides in the feed, no antibiotics, etc) beef? I'm not trying to sell it to you or anything, I'm just curious if it gave you the same bad reactions as regular ol' beef.
  17. How many people here who posted that Kraft is a "safe" company called Kraft to verify this? Srokie never pretended to have called Kraft--she passed on info and where she got it. Very few of us have done more--including me and you.
  18. OH, PEOPLE, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!!!!! The point isn't whether or not to blindly believe Srokie (or Kraft, for that matter), or anyone who posts information. The point is how to treat someone who (in your opinion) is innocently posting erroneous (or potentially erroneous) information. I think Rachel is absolutely correct--there is no reason to attack...
  19. disclaimer: I am NOT a doctor. Having said that, as far as I can tell, IBS is a bull-**** diagnosis; it's not a disease, it's a collection of symptoms. As far as I can tell, it's the same symptom list as celiac disease, minus the positive test results. There are many of us on this board who either did not test positive for celiac, or who had doctors...
  20. Finally--a voice of reason! Thank you, Rachel. Every time I come on here, I am amazed at the unnecessary hostility and the condescending attitudes. We're supposed to be helping each other, not attacking each other. I think everyone who attacked Srokie owes a general apology to everyone on this board. I'd say a big apology is owed Srokie, but apparently...
  21. Duh--yeah--must be having brain fog here!!!!!
  22. I suggest that several of us contact Planter's and Crystal LIght (not that I'd ever drink that stuff-yuck) and ASK them if this is true. It is entirely possible that the flour (if they use it) gets toasted as the nuts are dry-roasted. I also believe that it is well within the realm of possibility that some companies are using wheat or flour and paying...
  23. I wish we had Wegman's. Giant Eagle has pretty much taken over everything in our area. They sell some green drinks, but they all have barley and wheat grass in them. I suyppose I could always juice apples, carrots, cabbage, spinach, and beets, though!
  24. Lisa, thank you for injecting a bit of much-needed levity here, and also for pointing out that Richard has been helpful. I agree--I would never have thought of reporting the cottage cheese manufacturer. Of course, this was only a couple of weeks after my diagnosis, so I was pretty much at my limit just trying to find things I could safely eat. However...
  25. Doesn't Annalise Roberts have some kind of doughnut recipe on her website? Or was that muffins?
