  1. Wait a minute, WAIT A MINUTE!!! Milk has MSG??????? I must have missed something....
  2. But make sure you either make the tuna salad yourself or read the label if it's from the deli counter--one of our local grocery stores uses a premade tuna salad at their deli counter and it contains bread crumbs!!!
  3. Tiffany and Broncobux, thank you for your reassuring clarifications of the cellulose issue! Richard, please do not send me any more harrassing pm's. If you have a problem with my daring to post questions, feel free to contact Scott or whatever authority you wish. Electra, I am sorry this got hijacked from your original topic.
  4. Tanya, I'm so happy to read about all the improvements! And Hooray for Ronald McDonald House! Let us know when Megan's 2nd birthday approaches? Also, if you are in touch at all with the mom of 4 who was alone in the waiting room, please tell her that your friends on glutenfreeforum are praying for her and her child, as well...I hope her child came through...
  5. By that logic, wheat starch would be safe for celiacs.
  6. Can you prove that wheat is NOT a source for the cellulose used in foods? You know, Richard, I have the right to post anything I have a question about, regardless of your superior attitude. Yes, maybe my questions might cause someone to doubt a harmless ingredient. But I still have the right to raise the question. I would really appreciate it you...
  7. I adapted this from a recipe I found on the Internet--hope it helps! (I may make this tormorrow with canned salmon!) Outback Tuna Mornay Degree of difficulty: Medium Preparation Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 20 minutes You need: 425g tin of tuna 1 cup of breadcrumbs or rice (Use RICE, obviously!) lemon juice from 1 lemon 4 hard boiled...
  8. Too bad we can't all go with you and yell at them for screwing up your bed!!!!
  9. You need to talk to Nini on this board--I believe she was denied health insurance, and so have others. Others have also been denied life insurance. Of course, this means that the insurance companies are staffed with idiots, as celiac is the cheapest disease in the world to cure. Free, in fact. kbabe, I love how you think! I'll even take it a step...
  10. Good heavens, Richard, you think that I am wrong because I am not basing my observations/experience on official studies; yet you insist you are right based on your observations/experience--you're not quoting any studies to back up anything you are saying! YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.
  11. Pick your battles, all right???!!! Making bread IS NOT THAT HARD. gluten-free bread is actually easier to make because you don't have to knead the dough. You can use a breadmaker, or just throw it in the oven. You can order gluten-free bread online if you can't find it in a store near you. Some of it is acceptable if it is toasted and slathered...
  12. Aw, come on, Jerry--I'm a working mom of 3. if I can make chili from scratch, so can you! Brown the meat the night before, mix all the ingredients together (I'll post a recipe if you need one) in the crockpot and put it int the fridge. In the morning, plug in your crockpot, turn it on "high," and dinner will be ready when you come home.
  13. Wow--Susan, Donna, can you imagine what it would be like if the three of us showed up at this group????
  14. Oh, me, too! Me, too! I'd be waving a carton of eggs , a red pepper, and a bag of spinach and saying innocently, "Oh, no--these aren't marked gluten-free--THEY MUST HAVE GLUTEN!!!! AAAGGGGHHH!!!!" This woman obviously has something up her butt. You could pull the classic husband-ly "Yes, dear. Yes, dear," and then go eat what you think is good...
  15. This IS the celiac mental health forum!!! Seriously, what was in the chili? I never put wheat in my chili even before I went gluten-free. Also--YOU MAY EAT BREAD. It just can't contain wheat, rye, barley, or oats. Please please PLEASE get yourself a french loaf pan and a copy of Annalise Roberts' Gluten-Free Baking Classics. She has a recipe...
  16. I can see the logic in a hospital's requiring its workers to have a hepatitis vaccine. But to make it mandatory for a four-hour-old newborn?
  17. But wheat straw might be the source for the cellulose. Google "cellulose from wheat" and dozens of links pop up. Here is just one: Open Original Shared Link
  18. As far as I know, I don't have problems with anything but gluten. However, it seems obvious that a HUGE percentage of celiacs have other food allergies/issues as well. I think it is shortsighted and insensitive for a gluten convention serving food to NOT list every ingredient in what they are serving. Otherwise, they might as well put up a sign saying...
  19. I didn't know that there was any way a non-medical-professional COULD file a report. My pediatrician did file a report about my oldest son's reaction, but that was only after his nurse blew me off 4 times. The 5th time, I demanded to speak to the doctor, and told the receptionist that I refused to speak to the nurse any more. The doctor (who knew me fairly...
  20. Welcome, Ana! If it makes you feel any better, some of us here have only mild bloating, mild constipation/looses stools when we have a whole spaghetti dinner! (That would describe me--I have NEVER gotten violently ill from gluten.) What keeps me adhering to the gluten-free diet (besides for actually seeing my waist again after the bloating went away...
  21. Thanks for the update--I hope they get to go home tomorrow!
  22. Hope you and Johny have a rolicking good time (arrgh!) Happy Birthday!
