  1. Count me in as confused--I didn't know there was another on-going thread dealing with this.
  2. I hope you'll stay--I'll miss you if you don't! BTW--I forgot to thank you for your delicious ranch chicken recipe. It sounded so good, I made it with tilapia (since that was what we had and I was too impatient to wait to buy chicken the next day) and it was wonderful! I told the kids it was fish sticks ane they gobbled them down.
  3. I hope he's feeling better and that you are getting some sleep! I think it's okay that he has no dirty diapers, but I do hope he has wet diapers--important that he stays hydrated!
  4. What does it mean if you've been gluten-free for a month and your IgG is still off the charts?
  5. Most supermarkets make their chicken salads from leftover rotisserie chickens. Sam's Club ROtiesserie chickens (I believe) are gluten-free, but GIant Eagle (my local supermarket) uses soy sauce (with wheat) to marinate their rotisserie chickens before rotisserie-ing them. That is a likely source of your glutening.
  6. Since you didn't get to read the original posts, you missed that Gina full-out attacked tailZ, and that there was a rage and viciousness to her posts that shocked a lot of us (to be fair, not everyone was shocked--eKatherine completely agreed with Gina, but there were many of us who were wondering why Gina was over-reacting so). She also complained to Scott...
  7. You can make your own "Gatorade" type drink ("Fakerade?") : (I'm guessing proportions here, someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want to get the little guy sicker) 8 parts water, 1 part grape juice,a Tablespoonful of sugar, and a teaspoonful of salt. Mix really well, then pour maybe one ounce into a sippee cup filled with crushed ice. I usually wait...
  8. I do seem to parachute in at the most interesting times...
  9. What a shock and scare for you, Lynne! I'm so glad grp is on top of it--sounds like he probably knows and understands more about it than most doctors. (But, yeah, I'd be happy to bring over some chicken soup anyway!)
  10. Happy Birthday! I hope you get lots of yummy gluten-free treats!
  11. My 5-year-old does not have diarrhea or constipation--but she does have problems knowing when she needs to go pee. I always thought it was because she was either too involved with what she was doing or just a little lazy, but now I'm wondering....
  12. This is really, really good advice. Even if you can earn a little money babysitting, or selling gluten-free home-baked goods--save it in a new Ursula-only account that Ken does not have access to. And sign up for a new credit card (again, only with your name on it) so that you can have that, too if you need it.
  13. And don't forget other sources of gluten: barley, rye, and oats. Barley malt is in nearly all cereals like Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes. Wheat starch is in most soy sauces. Oat fiber is in most protein bars. rye isn't in all that much that I know of. Could your stomach problems be related to what else you are eating? What is a typical day's worth...
  14. Oops. Thanks for the clarification. In IMResident's defense, he DOES have a point here--he just missed that Ursula's illness/diet is not the cause of the bickering. Ursula's family might be using it as their (shoddy) excuse for their horrendous behavior, but that doesn't make it the real cause. If she had perfect health, they would think...
  15. Thanks, gfp. BTW, I never took Latin, can't quite figure out your signature. Translation, please?
  16. When I looked for Gina's original post to see what tailZ had misquoted, I couldn't find it. I'm not saying that it wasn't there--just that I couldn't find it. To the best of MY recollection, I posted something like, " Gina, your recent posts are so full of rage, they don't sound like your usual thoughtful and sensitive ones--are you okay?" And then I...
  17. Do I understand this correctly, Ursula? Susie is your daughter and Janet is your mother-in-law? And all three of you are under the same roof with your (expletive deleted) husband? Is there any way you can just maintain a very low profile? Do what you need to keep yourself healthy, but try to stay under the radar--clean everything late at night or early...
  18. Gina was the one accusing her of that--but I noticed she did not then post the accurate post of what had been misquoted. So I don't know if there was deliberate misqutoing or honest misunderstanding of intent. I think it's far more disturbing that Scott deleted MY posts defending tailZ and asking Gina if she was okay. Don't you think there is something...
  19. This is really interesting--I am great with Nexium, but Omeprazole doesn't really work for me. Neither does Ranitidine. What food combinations do you use?
  20. I vaguely remember seeing someone on this board complain about the vegetable broth in canned tuna. I can't remember if it was because of the soy, or if there is actually soy sauce in the vegetable broth? I guess we need to check with the manufacturer....sigh
  21. FIRST: {{{HUGS}}}} SECOND: {{SUPPORT}} THIRD: {{{LOTS OF GOOD THOUGHTS}} I'm happy to offer up a few prayers, too, but you'll need to advise me what might be realistic to pray for here. I always worry that I'm annoying God if I ask him to make a total jerk more kind and sensitive. As far as your daughters are concerned--you've done...
  22. Well, I thought tailZ was definitely a litttle too pushy about the Lyme thing--but then again, she did NOT tell me she thinks that I have it. As someone else said, if she'd only started a thread under the "Celiac and Related Disorders" heading, that would have avoided nearly all of the problems. But should she have been banned because she either didn't...
  23. Hey, gfp, I tried to go off Nexium, and it was a disaster (and I'd been gluten-free for 7 onths). I'd been on 40 milligrams; I was hoping I could take Zantac in small amounts if necessary, but that didn't begin to cover the major acid reflux that came back, so I reluctantly went back on Nexium. The darn stuff comes in a capsule, so there's no way to wean...
  24. Well, it's kind of hard to figure it all out now, because all of tailZ's posts have been deleted for some reason (by Scott?). Still, I feel strongly that she was NOT proselytizing; she was wondering about an admittedly controversial treatment, and also wondering about diseases within the parameters of her views on religion. The fact that colloidal silver...
