  1. Heading to Naperville in October for 2.5 days of work. Any suggestions on where to safely dine? Thanks in advance.
  2. Wow - what a great posting this is!I can't believe they're doing gluten-free fondue - good for them!!!
  3. Get the chicken from Costco instead, if you're a member. Cheaper, better and the label on ours says "No Gluten"
  4. Wholly Tomato has closed (I'm pretty sure). I've listed a few places to eat on my blog, www.Lame Advertisement - check it out, it's in the June postings.
  5. Yep! Sugar Free Grape Kool Aid. Yum. Now if we could only get diet grape soda here in Denver. I have to ship it back (Faygo brand) from the mid west when I go there for work. Seriously.
  6. This place sounds fantastic. I am going to downtown Chicago in December (brr!) and hopefully I can make it there. That is if I am not to stuffed from Nuts on Clark caramel corn.
  7. Man, I want to go to that bbq! Bronco, where do you get your Kinnikinnick Buns? I can't justify paying $15 online for them (price + shipping), and can't find them in any local Denver store (I just called around to Wild Oats, Vitamin Cottage and others). I've never seen but I would love to have a real hot dog again with a bun, mustard, pickles, the works...
  8. If you can find info. about Illegal Pete's, good luck and godspeed. I tried last Summer numerous times, both via email and phone calls to their corporate office and no response. The receptionist was rude and I finally decided since Chipotle can accomodate me, I'll give them my business. I don't care to give business to companies that are rude and can't...
  9. XDC Bakery in the Highlands area - great bakery. Not a ton of options always, but FAR better, in my opinion then the highly praised, much overrated Deby's. Just not a fan of Deby's. Chipotle - various locations. Stay away from the flour tortillas, but corn tacos and corn chips are safe. They told me "Our hot, red tomatillo salsa and our chipotle honey...
  10. THANK YOU for posting this info! I bought one of these for my partner last weekend, and skipped getting me one, as I wasn't sure. Yum!
  11. I'm headed there in December, for a week, so this is good information. Chipotle - I'm saved! We're staying near the Merchandise Mart as my partner has a show there, so I'm excited to hear I don't have to live on peanut butter for a week.
  12. Susie - let me know how your dinner went. It's funny, I never thought I'd miss Pittsburgh, but going back there for my 20 year high school reunion made me realize there are parts of the city I miss. I've only been gone 11 years. I do miss a good Primanti's sandwich...I wanted my partner to eat one for me when we were there, but he said if I can't have...
  13. This sounds yummy! Glad to hear it worked out well.
  14. Sorry I didn't get to this sooner. The server did tell me to mention when I place the order that it's an "Allergic aware" order, and they mark that (hopefully) in their system. I tell them it's a wheat allergy (yeah, yeah, I know it's not, but you know no one knows of gluten intolerance!" Ok, so what she said is safe is: Pad Thai Penne Rosa (with rice...
  15. I get the Penne Rosa at Noodles with their rice noodles and add the seared beef tips. OMG - it's amazing. It's my favorite. I have a list somewhere in my car that one of the workers went over with me as to what's gluten-free there. I'll dig it up and post tomorrow.
  16. Keep us posted. I miss soft pretzels...
  17. I did have a layover in Memphis, twice, but the listing that Corky's gave me for gluten-free food - none of those items seemed to be on the menu at the airport, so I stuck with my cheese, turkey and crackers (I always freeze lunchmeat and take it out the morning of my flight). And, I called the manager of Food Operations at the airport over three weeks ago...
  18. Keep in mind that list is three years old, so it's quite outdated. Best to check McD's website for allergen information. Open Original Shared Link
  19. I was there in November (it's where I grew up) and ate at Med Mex (a few locations around town), as well as Mitchell's in the Galleria (Mt. Lebanon area - South Hills). They have a gluten-free menu. Also, there's a PF Changs in Homestead (maybe 20-30 min or so from downtown?) There are also a few Bravo locations, that has gluten free pasta (best to call...
  20. Thanks, Grant. I've been to Abrusci's once - it wasn't bad, really. The garlic bread was fair, but my chicken dish was quite tasty.
  21. If you want to hold down on expenses, depending on what you are doing for flowers, Costco is the way to go. We spent $300 for roses at Costco and it was amazing - we got over 40 dozen roses and arranged them all in simple glass vases. You can pre-order in advance the colors you want, and they'll do their best to get them for you (the floral area is a 3rd...
  22. I traveled last month and had a ziploc bag full of frozen ham, turkey breast and cheese and it wasn't even an issue. By the time we reached Orlando (our layover) it was chilled just enough to eat and not warm at all! Don't stress - traveling can be done with snacks & food. I've even taken a small thing of peanut butter on the plane in a tupperware...
  23. Another option is to get to know your local Chinese place. There's one place (for now) I trust. I take my bottle of wheat free Tamari and my Triumph Dining card and the one woman pretty much knows me now after going for six months or so. I've gotten sick once and I always remind them to clean the pan out before they cook for me. I usually stick with the...
  24. Let's start with them having some intelligence, then we can go on to food allergy training...
  25. 'Cue on a salad sounds delicious!
