  1. When you have kids it must be harder to control gluten crumbs, etc. It's just me & husband and I am very careful with my gluten foods - I am wiping table constantly. But prior to gluten-free diet, we never had processed junk in house anyway (no cakes or pies or crackers) so I am pretty much used to not having extra food in house. I basically...
  2. Since this is a Support Group: Hello, my name is Deb and I am a loser. I don't have a copy of the cookbook or receipe but I wanted to show my support in that I lose things all the time. The one item I lost that still breaks my heart is my husband's NAVY ring. So I understand your frustration at losing a box of stuff. I also lost a gift certificate...
  3. Stef: I am going to pray that the hearing will be in your favor. My brother lived in Lancaster area (I think that's Dauphin County?) and he recalls that during his divorce that the county Lancaster is in, is a "pro-woman" county - as he wanted the custody of his son (for reasons totally different than your husband - my brother's wife, after 10 years...
  4. Reason I am questionning; both my husband (celiac) & his sister (probably celiac-won't get tested) have scoliosis and they had a baby brother die of spina bifida in 1945 - he was two weeks old. Just looking to see if celiac is the culprit in spinal deformities and such. I didn't think so. But I wasn't certain if anyone else knew otherwise. Thanks
  5. Be careful about the "flush" because if you get a stone that passes thru the duct and it scratches the lining of the duct, it could make "scar damage" and ruin the duct. A damaged bile duct is serious and they cannot be replaced. They are delicate and only surgeons with a lot of bile duct experience should work on them. This is why doctors tell you...
  6. Can you call the county probation office annonomously (spelling?) and talk about this kid to a supervisor? Perhaps they can intercede in situation without saying who called, etc. and get him out of there or tell him to wise up otherwise it's jail time for him? The fact he's on probation and not a minor any longer is in your favor.
  7. In DOC I don't recall the details, but he diagnosed someone as having celiac disease ...I think, just think if I recall, the patient was an older teenager whose family thought she had an eating disorder. Don't quote me though, it's been a few years since I saw it.
  8. Husband has scoliosis and so does his sister.....is there a connection between this and celiac? Just curious.
  9. Advice I have had my share of low class neighbors and this is what attorney told me to do: 1) keep a diary of the incidents...use a steno pad - it's all you need nothing fancy 2) file police reports on every incident immediately as they happen and do not fail to meniton that the man in that apartment is on probation. The police will probably question...
  10. Angie: Please describe the accident: rear ended? Broadsided? P.S. to all: I am so naive. I at first thought POS meant : Positive and I couldn't figure out how the word "positive" made any sense within the context of what you'all were saying.... Then I thought about it and laughed so hard when I realized what it REALLY meant....
  11. They now have a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty...or is this bogus? We would use the Hyundai for in-city driving not highway driving: would this make the difference?
  12. I had gallbladder out Aug 07. All my blood tests and HIDA scan and CT scan were OK, but ultra sound picked up possible polyps with stones. I had a few gall bladder attacks but I had gallbladder disease (a diseased gallbaldder and some stones). I did not have a stone lodged in ducts or anywhere: my gallbladder was just bad....similar to when you...
  13. To all: I understand Peter's point and want to further the thought by saying that it could be that this forum is in an advertising contract with companies who might be making it a contractual thing that the competitors are not mentioned in the forum. So it could be that the Al-CAT name gets obscured due to a contractual obligation on the part of the...
  14. Yes, Saturns are great...but right now money is the issue. Saturns cost more than Hyundai - and that's WITH my GM discount......what does that tell ya?
  15. Scotty I don't have anything to sugggest, Carla and Rachel are very good with this topic. I just hope you get to the root of your problem and feel better. D.
  16. Needed to ask: is anyone meaning that the scoliosis is a result of celiac?
  17. I just have one comment and one question: 1) I hate the taste of barley 2) what is a "red" cooker?
  18. Ok how I see Ugly Betty In the scheme of things Betty is the "good guy", unsullied, salt of the earth, honest, loyal, intelligent, good-hearted, ambitious but not to point of cut-throat; she has no guile, can be gullible, has a positive attitude; not shallow but deep and, she's "swimming" with the sharks in the fashion magazine industry. ...
  19. To All: Carla is correct we are both promoting compassion and this isn't an argument but a discourse of ideas. I used Carla's words merely to frame my discourse as this was about "coping" - and not as a means of offending her... it was basicallly a way to stay on topic. Carla is a wealth of what Roman Catholics need to know about what...
  20. The lowest level of automatic with p/s, p/b they make.....saw one in newspaper for about $8700. New.
  21. Those who are posting Catholic Canon Law are most definitely correct about the Law of Church concerning the Eucharist. (note to Yellow Rose - I am still waiting to obtain the website addresses you mentioned you would share). The websites they post are authentic sources of information and those posting are defending their faith. I am Catholic myself and...
  22. If you own one ....what's your opinion of this brand of auto..... I might buy one....
  23. Her Dad, Billy Ray, had a program called "DOC" and they too had an episode that involved a celiac person. They must be familiar with celiac disease.
  24. Carla: I hope I am not being too forward but how/where did the tapeworm come from? I didn't know that it could happen in USA....guess I am uninformed...please forgive me if I am too forward with my question.... Deb
  25. I have a compromise to this situation....anyone interested should send me Message and I'll explain it. It's not offensive and I am sincere and I'd post it here, but I am just too scared to share my feelings on this matter. P.S. I wonder if the mother of the child who was involved in the Communion case ever visits this message board.....
