debmidge replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
What a beautiful baby girl! and what nice people your parents are to share their homes, lives and blessings. It's times like this that I a reminded that there are still righteous people in this world. -

ARCHIVED Questions For Experienced Celiac Veterans
debmidge replied to Joe Hoffman's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Joe My husband lost his muscle mass (from the weight loss over the years +) and never regained it. So I understand what you are saying. Don't let the weight loss worry you unless it becomes anexoric proportions. You could also be overeating for your condition (digestion is taxing on guts when there's intestinal issues). Also, as I got older I... -
ARCHIVED Stool That Smells Like Vomit
debmidge replied to Joyous's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This could be your answer: still eating gluten Anytime the gastro tract is upset poo gets to have a funny color: orangey, yellow and odor. It's a sign of maldigestion. Just this summer I had my gallbladder out and after the surgery for weeks I had orangey poo. Doctors weren't concerned over it. It went away as I healed. But I had a lot of gastro... -
ARCHIVED Powdered Sugar
debmidge replied to darlindeb25's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This goes back to the gasoline situation. Corn is used to make Ethanol. This has increased the demand and prices for corn. Wheat is a cheaper commodity right now. Back in 2005 I was afraid this was going to happen. -
Yep! done this too...even went to talk to a Priest about it and he said there' s no such thing as curses....this was about 4 years ago .... so whatever it is, it isn't passing.

Thanks, I'll look into this....However I don't know where to start: home/office...it seems to be following me around...

Without sounding like boasting, but without doing into detail, I already do what you mentioned....I try to also live under this rule "Don't let the right hand know what the left hand is doing" as regards good works....But I am concerned about something spiritually bad that's been directed my way. No matter if you life good or bad, there's always going...

ARCHIVED Advantages Of Not Being Completely Gluten Free?
debmidge replied to Joyous's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
The smallest amount of gluten, wether or not it's accidential or deliberate ( in an attempt to deflect a really bad reaction if you were to go gluten free and then get "glutened" and have a bad reaction)...the smallest amount of gluten will "jump start" the immune system to protect the body by producing the antibodies which make the celiac person sick and... -
ARCHIVED Article About Progress On A "celiac Pill"
debmidge replied to spg7000's topic in Publications & Publicity
Hope you are getting better from the accident. -
I need to know how to shake off bad karma....how to get the "black cloud" from being over my head... I feel somehow someone put a curse on me and it's never going away. Does anyone have any special knowledge of removing curses? I am serious.....

ARCHIVED Prayer Request
debmidge replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Some health insurance advice....however I don't know if this applies to every state in US but it's worth checking out. When a health policy is stopped or ends due to end of employment etc. your state might require that an employer offer a COBRA extension if the employer you work for is large enough and qualifies. If coverage is thru school there... -
Glad those who have the snow like it. I'd move in Momma Goose's area in a snap if I could. Here in NJ (I am in city area, north eastern side of state - 45 minutes away from NYC) snow grinds everything to a halt. There's no where to put it when it's over a foot..every square foot of land here is a building...no empty spaces to dump snow. It creates...

ARCHIVED Thanks But No Thanks
debmidge replied to dandelionmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Gratefully accept it; then find someone else who would appreciate it....and give it away. 4 months after my husband came down with celiac, my "Team Leader" at work gave me a present of gluteny cookie mixes..variety of sugar cookies and oatmeal cookies. Since we sat next to each other & spoke about my husband's finding of celiac (gluten free diet... -
I am not celiac (husband is) but I am severely lactose intolerant and I avoid foods with Potassium Lactate as I feel that they bother me.....I am not sure but would Potassium Lactate be considered a derivitive of lactose? And lactose would prompt diarrhea and stomach/intestine gas and churning....

ARCHIVED Cinderella Cake
debmidge replied to sammers1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Doll cake pans ---- I believe that Wilton makes these pans and Wilton has a website or you can buy them from a store which sells Wilton goods.....Wilton also sells the top half of the doll that goes with it... Or you can use a Bundt brand ring cake pan. Somehow you use a lot of stiff icing to fill in the gaps around the doll's waist. -
This was my first thought too: scoliosis. My husband has this....ribcage chest is crooked....one side is more pronounced or higher than the other, and when you examine his back, it's crooked in the same shape. This got more pronounced as he lost more weight and muscle across his chest and back. Perhaps you have always had it, but never noticed for...

ARCHIVED Supermarket Butcher Case
debmidge replied to debmidge's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This meat case isn't like a "deli" case as it contains the best cuts of meat and anyone who is a meat eater would want one of those Prime steaks, etc. Maybe next time I am in there, when I don't have to run back to work on lunch hour, I'll mention something to the butchers. They always seemed like they want to please the customer. All they have to... -
ARCHIVED Supermarket Butcher Case
debmidge posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was at a local large supermarket in my area that I don't normally shop at (not Whole Foods, not Wegman's) . It's considered an "upper class" supermarket....anyway I was in Meat Dept. and in the Butcher Case there were all the meats out on display that are a better cut of meat (that don't get the plastic wrap and put with the regular meats in the case... -
ARCHIVED Happy Birthday Dingogirl!
debmidge replied to Darn210's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Sue Happy Birthday to you! All the Best... Deb -
Before started purchasing Corn flour from Kinnikinnick, I would grind cornmeal in a clean, new mini coffee grinder and that worked.
