  1. I experienced an air-glutening a few months ago. My husband and I were packing up and moving to a new place. I was outside putting something in the car, meanwhile, my dear hubby dumped a container of wheat flour from the back of the cabinent down the sink, we wouldn't need it at the new place. Of course when I walked inside I could smell it and went outside...
  2. Hi Everyone, I am not in Upstate anymore but I loved reading this post. I went to school at Syracuse and LOVED it there. I worked at Song Mountain in Tully my senior year. Clearly the best job I've ever had (alright, most fun job anyway). I have family and friends in a lot of the places you mentioned Just popping in to say "hey" and I love NY.
  3. Heh, love your signature Jestgar!
  4. I have a non IT related chronic injury, don't want to jack the thread, but I use a styrofoam tube, too, and it works wonders! Hope the IT issues clear up.
  5. My doc had logical advice. She said "you're body won't let you get pregnant until you're ready". Simplified advice for sure, but it also makes sense. So go by how you feel and hey. . .have fun in the meantime!
  6. Good advice has already been delivered. I will just chime in and say everyone is right. I enjoy the Tinkyada pasta; it's awesome & I eat a lot of fruits and veggies. With just beans and rice, one can make a lot of cheap good eats. You've got Mexican, southwestern, Indian, and who knows what else depending on the spices you add.
  7. I took myself to an allergy specialist 3 years ago and saw them often when I was young. They didn't catch the celiac. The GI will most likely know much more. Good luck and hope your fam feels better soon! Rice krispies!!! bad! (except ones you make yourself) I think you answered your own question since you were told by someone in the allergy office...
  8. Hi Sally, Welcome to the forums! I love The Other Side cafe! It's a great place. I have eaten there since I have been vegan but I have not been there since being dg with celiac disease, too. They would be a great candidate for celiac friendly dining. I don't know what they offer now, but if enough of us ask them about it I am sure they will think...
  9. THANKS! I will check it out one of these days :)
  10. I absolutely agree. Where do the cows get all their calcium? Green leafy veggies! Go straight to the souce.
  11. I'm glad to hear the pizza was top notch! francelajoie: The restaurant in Worcester you may be refering to is Nancy Chang's; there is a menu online Open Original Shared Link. Woot. gluten free is on there home page, rock on! Maybe we could meet up there sometime, then take a road trip to Boston because there are quite a few gluten-free friendly places...
  12. Thanks for sharing your stories everyone. It's good to feel less alone in having a health issue that you are not supposed to get until later on in life. I have osetopenia at age 28. Not cool. I was shortly screened for it after being dg with celiac disease. I have only had one broken bone so far and that was in a freak accident in 8th grade. Also it was...
  13. I went to a rhumatologist for a concern about Raynaud's syndrome many years ago. Then the Dr. said I had fibromyalgia, too, which can be related. I wasn't looking to be diagnosed and didn't really know what it was. My joints hurt when it rains or is going to rain ever since I can remember, so I guess she thought that had something to do with it (I thought...
  14. A lot of garbage usually has a high caloric content but doesn't fill you up, so more junk is needed to feel full. Calories from fiber and complex carbs (brown rice instead of white rice in our case) make one feel full because they take longer to digest and don't make your blood sugar spike and then fall. Little meals rock and keep the blood sugar level...
  15. bummer There is milk powder in the dough. If they change the recipe and remove the milk, I would be getting pizza like 3 times a week. I have been on withdrawl. I live so close! Aaaargh. Yet. . .so far. I hope everyone going to The Boynton has a kick ass time and eats a lot of PIZZA!!!!
  16. that sounds FANTASTIC! Thanks for posting that and I am so glad you got to enjoy dining there. I'm not there much, but probably will be at least once this winter, and I'll be sure to check it out. What I would do for FRIES or tato skins!
  17. thanks for posting all this wonderful info! I called to make a reservation but Rick was busy. Hopefully he'll call back soon. My hubby and I are game for 6 so long as there is a.) space and b.) egg free crust/dairy free options. If so. . .I can't wait!!!
  18. I never ever have dairy and I poop worms sometimes, too! ::best thread ever::
  19. Wow, I am so sorry you have to go through all this. It's one thing for all the wedding demands, but over everything else, YOU need to be the one to decide what you put into your body. I'm sorry she does not understand that. I wish you the best and I hope you do not get sick. Perhaps you can bring it up so she's sees that it benefits her if you do not eat...
  20. I have very cold hands. They lose circulation easily. I am in the ladies room at work a few times a day running them under hot water (also. . .it is ridiculously cold in my office). Was diagnosed with Raynaud's syndrome years ago (before dg with celiac disease). I am not sure if it was related. The best thing to do is stay warm and they gave me drugs...
  21. so sorry to hear you were sick. I am glad you are feeling better now though!
  22. thank you so much for posting this!
  23. Gotta get your B12 . I love raw food but I also eat cooked food (so long as it is gluten-free and vegan). Ethier way. . it is really important to get B12 via supplements and omega-3's which are in flax seed. It's easy to get omega3 via plants, just have to remember them I am glad you feel good!
  24. Cool, thanks for the link, I just send a message
