  1. Does Robitussin have a blocker or is that just cough medicine? Please note that I am not telling you to try this medicine on your child. I am not a doctor and not a medical person. I cannot personally "guarantee" anything about these medications. I will tell you, however, as I've said before, that very few pharmaceutical companies will GUARANTEE their...
  2. Is this true for ALL distilled grains, like corn. If so, it's not a gluten problem. richard
  3. I just called Glaxo Smith Kline and spoke with an RN who answered. Although I don't need either of these products, I asked about Augmentin XR and the Zofran orally disintegrating tablets. I have called them in the past about Zantac. I was prepared to do battle but it wasn't necessary because I got a very straight-forward answer. Wheat, rye, barley and...
  4. If it's something pretty crucial and if the company simply won't "guarantee" ingredients from its suppliers, I'd take it. Without hesitation. If it TRULY does have gluten (a rarity), then you'd have to have a serious talk with your doctor. richard
  5. Please tell us which companies have told you they don't know what's in their fillers. I've never been told this by a pharmaceutical company so I need your list to check them out. If they give me the same response, I'll then check out whether this is allowed. If not, I'll report them to the FDA. The list of companies you found is not a list of companies...

    ARCHIVED False Negative?

OK, so what destroyed the villi and what are you supposed to do about it? You need them and there must be a cause. What blood tests did he do? Igg can be negative even if you have it and Iga can be negative if you're Iga deficient. richard
  7. When a company tells you they cannot "guarantee" their medication, this is nothing more than a CYA legal statement. Kraft doesn't "guarantee" its products. Do you eat any of them? Neither does General Mills. When you eat out, no restaurant "guarantees" its food. Heck, neither do most of the companies that make gluten-free specialty foods. Why do people seem...
  8. There are NOT tons of medications with gluten. There are, in fact, very, very few, particularly among prescription drugs. Antibiotics are either all gluten-free, or very nearly so. I'm not telling anybody not to check (call the company yourself), but in reality medications are generally safer than going out to eat and probably safer than your average processed...
  9. I had DH for many years and it definitely does not sound like DH. But psoriasis is a possibility. richard
  10. Coffee filters are gluten-free. Not a concern. rciahrd
  11. If the doctors aren't finding anything else wrong it's worth a try. A large percentage of people are first diagnosed as adults. My father was 70. richard
  12. I know two people who have had Guillain Barre and neither was the result of a vaccine. richard
  13. Snapple is gluten-free. richard
  14. No injected medicines have gluten. The answer from the company saying they can't guarantee the raw ingredients are gluten-free is a standard CYA and means nothing. In fact, I can't even imagine it would actually provide them any protection in a lawsuit. richard
  15. Two things. First, you can collect info showing how folks should be tested as proof the experts recommend this. You can probably also find info about "silent" damage. Silent damage put me in the hospital for 11 days and cost my insurance company tons of money. I'd also agree with Vincent. Diarrhea, fatigue, achiness, mental fogginess, gas, etc. These are...
  16. MSG can by law be made from a gluten source, but in four years I've never found one that has been. MSG made in the U.S. is always gluten-free. MSG is one of those ingredients I personally no longer worry about. Of course it's a personal choice. richard
  17. I was so sick I was hospitalized. Blood tests and biopsy all highly positive. richard
  18. There's always a chance some company could add gluten after distilling. I haven't found a liquor yet where that's been done, though. richard
  19. In the U.S. virtually every coffee, including the crystals, are gluten-free. A majority of teas are also gluten-free and the ones that aren't generally list barley in the ingredients. I don't know if this is the same in the UK, though. richard
  20. I have yet to find a flavored coffee with gluten, other than a couple at Starbucks that they add things to after they brew it. To make sure, though, call the company. richard
  21. I've had both and they looked nothing alike on me. richard
  22. I had the flu 19 years ago and never want it again. It was awful. I always get the flu vaccine and haven't had it since. And I'd agree that one of the mian reasons you don't see so many people with the flu is because people get the vaccine. I don't think there's any advice negative or positive about people with celiac getting the flu vaccine, but I understand...
  23. No sense in doing the endoscopy for celiac unless you eat gluten for a good while first. However, if there are other things he wants to look for, it would make sense. Refractory sprue is very, very rare. Odds are extremely strong that you do not have that. Some people who are still having problem improve by taking probiotics. And others are still getting...
