  1. "All I found on the Kraft site was their PDF file on gluten-free products, basically saying to read the labels carefully..." What else do you hope to find? Kraft has one of the best ingredient policies of any company. richard
  2. OK, I'll change what I said. In four years I've never found a balsamic vinegar that isn't gluten-free and I've never heard of anybody else who has found one. If anybody has found one, please post the brand name here so we'll know. richard
  3. Smirnoff is made from corn. richard
  4. If the turkey doesn't clearly list wheat or barley, it's gluten-free. As for Woodchuck cider, this is straight from the FAQ on their website: "Yes. Woodchuck Draft Cider is gluten free." richard
  5. Balsamic vinegar itself is always gluten-free, but dressing that includes balsamic isn't necessarily. You need to ask. richard
  6. I'm no Starbucks fan, but all their coffees are gluten-free except a couple that they add some sort of chips to after brewing. Although you should always check before drinking, flavored coffees are almost without exception gluten-free. richard
  7. I'm not sure I would ever take the pill myself, but I was willing to submit to the trial if it helped others who might need it for whatever reason. Is that all right? richard
  8. I also applied to be in the study and they called me, but I was rejected, I assume because of two medications I'm taking. richard
  9. You need an endoscopy. richard
  10. In the U.S. "natural" anything flavor means it's made from just that. Natural cherry flavor is made from cherries. I cannot tell you for certain it applies to imports. richard
  11. Unfortunately this is a fairly standard answer with drug manufacturers. However, it's pretty much just a CYA answer. I'd use the medications. richard
  12. Once upon a time somebody, I think it was the CSA, claimed that people with celiac should avoid annatto. This was based on nothing at all. Annatto is without question gluten-free. However, there do seem to be some people who disagree with annatto. richard
  13. Bob's for sure. Spangler. All of the ones I know of from known candymakers, like Lifesaver, Jolly Rancher, etc. richard
  14. Butterball turkeys -- fresh or frozen -- are gluten-free. They always have been. The gravy is not. richard
  15. McCormick pure spices are just that, the spice listed on the can. No msg or gluten or whatever. Some spice mixtures might sometimes have gluten but it's McCormick's policy to clearly list it if it's there. richard
  16. Let's think about this again. If someone sued to require every airline flight and every airport and every restaurant to have gluten-free meals available, then to be fair they'd all have to have meals for each the eight major allergens, diabetes, people with high blood pressureand so on and so on. When Katrina hit, lots and lots of people went hungry and...
  17. Obviously I can't say it never happens, but in four years of being gluten-free, I've never found a gum where they "dust" the lines with wheat. Also, Smarties in the U.S. (in Canada Smarties are a different candy and are NOT gluten-free) are indeed gluten-free, either that or the company is lying to us. richard
  18. I hope somebody can help you; I wouldn't even know where to begin. Generally, people who have this many restrictions take care of their own foods to avoid mistakes or contamination. richard
  19. Do not eat a stuffed turkey. Even if the stuffing itself never touches the breast (there's no way for you to know this for sure), gluten will get into the juices. Do they baste with the juices? Take your own or see if they'll cook the stuffing separately. richard
  20. Vanillan is gluten-free. richard
  21. Fireballs are gluten-free. richard
  22. There are airlines that don't provide a gluten-free meal at all. I can't imagine that any restaurant would be required to do provide gluten-free food under the law. If you depend on a wheelchair to get around, you cannot bring your own ramp or larger doors or elevator to get into a place. If they aren't there, you can't use it. However, if you have celiac...
  23. All injectables and IVs are gluten-free. The flu shot is safe from a gluten standpoint. richard
  24. Nice restaurants are the easiest because they have real chefs. richard
  25. Let me add to what I said. While I still don't see it as an ADA thing, let's imagine that it is. If you like working at this place and you want to stay, do you really want to cry "ADA" over a $5 or $10 lunch? Threatening a legal procedure will definitely change perceptions of you, even among some of your co-workers. I think you'd also want to consult with...
