  1. Maxwell House ia Kraft product and will clearly list any gluten. I'm fairly certain that all MH coffees are gluten-free. richard
  2. Are you sure you don't also have a wheat allergy? richard
  3. I've had some of the skin problem you describe (and I had DH). The skin thing you have does not sound like DH. The hair and nail thing can be gluten related or something else. Are you gluten-free? richard
  4. I think if you're in a place where there's loose flour in the air you could get some down your throat. I wouldn't worry at all about baked bread unless you get crumbs in your food or on your hands. richard
  5. Canola oil is gluten-free. I too was told to watch out for it but quickly learned it was not a problem. richard
  6. I believe the bacon that has soy sauce is called Farmer John's, sold just in California. McDonald's bacon, which I'm not sure is really bacon, has wheat starch. Other than that, every bacon I've checked has been gluten-free. richard
  7. Hellman's light is gluten-free. I don't know of any mayos with gluten. All the tunas in vegetable broth that I know about are gluten-free. In fact, most brands say so on their web sites. MFS almost never had gluten but it can, so it's always best to check. Some companies, such as Kraft, will not hide gluten anywhere though. richard
  8. Probably both. Definitely on father's. richard
  9. I don't have a tree but here's what wikipedia says in part: "Spelt (Triticum spelta) is a species of wheat. Spelt is considered to be a hybrid of emmer wheat and einkorn wheat that originated in the Near East, where it was cultivated at least 3000 years ago... As it contains a high amount of gluten, it is suitable for baking. However, the gluten...
  10. gluten-free. richard
  11. Injected medications and fluids do not contain gluten. richard
  12. If it doesn't say wheat, rye, barley or oats in the ingredients, it's gluten-free. richard
  13. Virtually anything distilled is gluten-free. I'm pretty certain Malibu is, but not 100 percent. Brandy and cognac are wines and should be gluten-free. richard
  14. I'm hesitant to say anything is ALWAYS gluten-free, but I've never found a paprika that isn't. I(t's not on my own radar screen of things to worry about. richard
  15. When you reply, hit the button on the right bottom of the post that you want to quote that says " reply instead of just the reply button at the bottom of the thread. richard
  16. When my family and I went to eat at a Japanese steak house I had pre-arranged with the owner to bring my own soy sauce. When I handed the San-J gluten-free tamari to the chef he was impressed. "This is very good stuff." richard
  17. If pumpkin's the only ingredient I wouldn't worry about it. You could drive yourself completely crazy worrying about possibilities that are too remote to matter. richard
  18. Hi celiac3270, I've been around but not as much since January. Life is still far from "normal" for us. (We also just got back from a short vacation to Philly). Thanks for asking. Good that you're back after the computer problems. richard
  19. It didn't spread it on me when I had DH. But it created sores. richard
  20. I don't know of any salts or sugar with gluten in the U.S. richard
  21. I don't doubt there are bad Outbacks but the ones I've been to they've cared very much. The corporate office cared enough to be one of the first ever chains to come up with a gluten-free menu. richard

    ARCHIVED Dh?

My understanding is that you have to have an active outbreak before they can take a biopsy sample. richard
  23. Just to try to help -- I've never seen or heard of a distilled vinegar made from rye or oats. Malt vinegar is usually made from barley (although not always) but it is either not distilled or they add the malted barley after distilling (I don't know which) -- that's why we can't have it. And although distilled vinegar can come from wheat, it almost never does...
  24. It's gluten-free. richard
  25. I know that turkey definitely causes some people problems but I don't know what the symptoms are. Turkey is almost without exception gluten-free. richard
