  1. not-for-profit is not volunteer. You made a lot of statements and yet offered references for none of them. If you want people to really take you seriously you'll need to give us links to where you got your information.
  2. I want some. D'ya think they'd work in tennies trainers?
  3. I assume I will get glutened every time I eat out. It actually happens about half the time, maybe less. I tend to frequent the restaurants where it doesn't happen .
  4. I don't have an answer, I'm just bumping this in case someone who does have an answer just missed it yesterday.
  5. Max is still pooping! I knew you all just HAD to know that...
  6. There is no reason to eat grains. Just tell them not to eat a lot of the (really expensive anyway) subs for gluten foods and they'll be fine. I think B vitamins are only necessary if you aren't eating meat.
  7. I mean the freeware programs written by other people, that are never sold. I'm sure you'll come across some. I would guess that anything 2 GHz or more, and 2Gb or more should be more than you need. (That's right in the middle.) I wouldn't worry about dual processors. There are very few situations where they are helpful, and none where they are necessary...
  8. I guess the other question is -how much do you want to spend? And do you need everything on the laptop? At home I have a desktop and a laptop. I put somethings on one, different things on the other. If you have (or want) a tricked out desktop you could go with a less expensive laptop (or the other way 'round). Will you be using a lot of freeware (which...
  9. I have peas, beans and carrots, which I eat raw, lettuce, and squashes, which I plan on grilling. I have a few cukes and a few onions as well. Basils didn't grow at all.
  10. This sounds like a plan to me.
  11. Excellent embarrassment display. ps....Max pooped! Looked uncomfortable. And....incomplete....
  12. What kinds of classes? If you'll be loading large programs (graphics maybe) you'll need something different than if you are using standard stuff. Duo processors have two brains. I run statistical apps on multi processor units because the programs take boatloads of memory. Most people don't need them. There isn't a huge difference in processors. What...
  13. Maybe he'll be willing to try quitting again. Don't give up hope of getting sweet kisses!
  14. Well, at least you didn't get sick. Sorry it was a less than perfect vacation .
  15. Yippee Boifday!
  16. Thanks Peter. I got some tuna in oil to start with. Max is still really really picky about what he's eating so I'm reluctant to do anything that might change the flavor too much. He even knows when the psyllium has been sprinkled in. I tried the pumpkin, but neither of them will eat it. I, however, have discovered that it does have plenty of fibre.
  17. Happy Birthday Amanda!!! Glad it all went well Judy! My wrap up- chickens are happy. no signs of another break in (or out ) Max's still sick. No idea what's causing it. Have spent the morning at the vet's every day. I'm tired of this, I told them I'd go by how he's acting and not bring him in again till Friday if all seems the same. Currently...
  18. I chose not to pursue any further diagnoses. It doesn't matter to me what the tests show, I'm still not eating gluten, so why go through the trouble and expense?
  19. If it were my wedding I would: a- want my guests to have a good time and b- not want them to bug me with how they did it. If you want to ask the caterers about their food, just call them. If you're bringing your own, just do it. When you show up, head for the kitchen and find who to talk to. Leave your box of food with them with carefully written instructions...
  20. Wouldn't she have been mooselady then?
  21. As I've said, I've had successful business type meals. I've also traveled with no problems. My brother got married in an Agrotourism farm in Italy where we had the option of eating what the kitchen made. I went to the store, got bags of gluten-free pasta, marched into the kitchen and had a talk with the cook. My brother is severely milk intolerant (and...
  22. Saw the civkebs had knocked over their food so went out to put a cup of grain on the ground for them and discovered a huge hole dug under the pen and a bunch of smaller holes all around the edges. Must remember to thank the woman who told me to put chicken wire on the bottom as well....
  23. I believe they're wrapped in bread...
  24. When I first changed my eating habits, we were taken out to lunch by a sales rep. I did my whole gluten thing with the waitress, and the sales rep proceeded to tell me about his dinner group who had a Celiac member and how he completely understood the whole thing. I went to a cafe for lunch and told the guy behind the counter that I couldn't eat gluten...
  25. This is a great idea. Get yourself set up with a couple of restaurants in case you have to take the same people out twice in a row.
