  1. Not wasted. Sending you all the support I can through the atmosphere.
  2. There's a lot of personal responsibility associated with this disease. Some people accept that easily and others don't.
  3. I use products with oats on my arms and legs, but not face and hands.
  4. I had never heard the words gluten or Celiac. I had a vague notion that some people avoided wheat to reduce inflammation for RA.
  5. My first guess is that I'm a forum moron. Try this: Open Original Shared Link
  6. Mine does this too. I've kinda been trying to figure it out and the best I can come up with is that it's a symptom of an autoimmune disorder, which we all have (gluten). If you figure out how to make it stop I'd love to hear it.

    FISH!?!?!?
  8. I think this is true, and, although sometimes it's easy to read something and feel insulted, try to look at it as if the person was just stating a different view. If I totally don't respect someone's viewpoint, I don't respond. Which means that every argumentative post I've written was written with the intention of presenting a different viewpoint....
  9. This seems like the best plan for all kinds of healthy eating. Thanks for the sites. I'll check them out.
  10. Lisa, Here we can take an "incomplete" and finish the course the next semester without any penalties. Is that an option?
  11. Fiddle-Faddle, Sorry you're feeling a little ganged up on right now, but I don't think it's meant that way. My point, and I think Deb's, is that you get what life gives you, but how you choose to react to it is up to you.
  12. Neither the site she gave, nor the site it cited offer ANY information on where they got those statements.
  13. Maybe a contact allergy to some food? My lips burn when they touch peach skin.
  14. Welcome to health, and to the board. It really does get better, and easier. This is not a horrible deprived life, although I understand that it feels that way right now, and you should only feel relieved that you learned about this while your children are young. You have the chance to educate and watch them, and save them from all the trauma you went...
  15. Make some nachos with chopped olives, maybe some chopped red bell pepper. Sweet potato chips and hummus. mini pizzas on toasted bread.
  16. I noticed that too, but I like the info about suggested substitutes and what they feel it does to baked goods to substitute that particular flour.
  17. Maybe this was already posted and I didn't see it, but it looks kind of informative. Open Original Shared Link
  18. Hmmm, the minivan. Pretty rough. You might need to go out for a sports pediicure to restore your manliness.
  19. OK, I found this: From: Cynthia Kupper RD celiac disease Executive Director, Gluten Intolerance Group, 206-246-6652; www.gluten.net: * Q: Is barely and wheat grass safe to use in a gluten-free diet? What about sprouts? * A: According to information from USDA research chemists, specializing in wheat gluten and cereal proteins and a statement...
  20. Severely damaged intestines can take longer to heal. And some people just generally take longer. Have your ferritin levels stayed the same? Or are they slowly increasing? Is iron one of those supplements that doesn't absorb well unless you have the right environment? (Like calcium needs acid.) I just found this: A number of dietary factors influence...
  21. Wheat grass is not ok. Some people with wheat allergies can eat sprouted grains because the proteins are different, but gliadin is a storage protein and stays in the plant.
