  1. If anyone is willing to try this I'd love to hear about your experience.
  2. If you can scrub them, they should be fine.
  3. I think that the prevalence of homosexuality is around 10% regardless of the culture and what they eat which suggests that there is no connection. It's just another part of life, not the result of an illness.
  4. White fish and nettles steamed/sauteed in some white wine and bacon grease and sprinkled with lemon.
  5. Can you eat them? Open Original Shared Link It's my approach to the nettles....
  6. The flavor is a bit stronger than spinach. Because of the sting you can't eat them raw, and I don't even like to handle them until they've been blanched. I fill my big metal bowl with leaves and tip the whole thing over onto a deep pan with some simmering water, leaving the bowl on top. I leave them on the stove for a few minutes to let them steam through...
  7. These grow wild in my yard and now is the time to harvest. I've already thrown a bunch into some soup, and I'm about to make a nettle quiche, but I still have at least three more bowls of these that I can harvest. I hate to throw away free food so I'm looking for suggestions.
  8. I drink plenty of alcohol made from grain and have never had a problem.
  9. And someone needs to smack me and tell me to get off my butt and go to work.
  10. I hate it when I put in coffee and water, but forget to put the pot underneath...
  11. The chickens are staring at me through the window.....what do they want???
  12. Prosciutto wrapped shrimp, bacon Gruyere mac and cheese, sausage stuffed portobellos, and barbecued pork. It'll be the tour de piggery
  13. People come on all the time and post multiple times with links to their blogs. That is spam. I'm sure that blogger is welcome to buy advertising on this site, just as this site bought advertising on theirs (that logo you mentioned).
  14. I agree. These are not nice people. Tell them the best part about gluten-free food is that it lets you know which people are unkind jerks.
  15. Get them from a local farmer's market.
  16. This site is full of inaccuracies and appears to be designed to sell things. I would take any information from there with a grain of salt.
  17. I sold some tat at a friends garage sale, then we hauled the leftovers to goodwill. A fun day with sun, wind, rain, sun.....
  18. My psoriasis responds to corn, not gluten.
  19. I don't know about psyllium, but the information on that site is incorrect. The storage protein in grains is different from grain to grain.
  20. The first couple times use it to cook something gluten-free, but feed it to the family. It may help in getting rid of gluten that didn't wash out.
  21. potato chips, corn chips, nuts, those gluten-free pretzels are pretty darn tasty, lots of snack things are gluten-free without really worrying about reading labels.
  22. While I successfully completed the boxed wine/recycle quest, I discovered that recycling isn't until next Wednesday. So now I'm trying to empty the wine bottle. Is this the correct approach to the issue? Or should I go buy another 5 liters of wine and try to finish it in 6 days?
  23. All the doctor knows are the tests he has in front of him. Your daughter is a complex human being and may, or may not, have an accurate response to those tests. Since you (she) can choose what she wants to eat, she can choose to eat in a way that is healthy, and makes her feel good. You don't need anything from a physician to make these healthy choices...
  24. At our potluck today I had salad, quinoa salad, fruit, and the chocolate cake I made. I missed out on: store bought bread and butter, store bought muffins, store bought donut thingies, and some goat cheese/rhubarb concoction on slices of bread. I don't feel at all deprived.
