  1. I used to buy Ener-G Yeast free gluten free bread and make bread crumbs from that. On the other hand I am not sure about yeast in breads. Seems like the debate we had on YC a while back everyone said the yeast is dead after it bakes. So, you would have to watch out for the carbs. I wouldn't think there are that many in meatballs.
  2. Sounds like you might need some digestive enzymes. Or you could do a little bit of Bragg's Apple Cider vinegar with your meal. Mix it in a little water and you could add some stevia if you need to sweeten it although its not necessary. Lemon water also helps. Be sure not to water down your own stomach acids with too much liquid at mealtimes. A good...
  3. www.123glutenfree.com has the BEST chocolate bundt cake - it does not taste like gluten free cake - taste like regular! No one can tell the difference. I use Earth Balance butter (DF) for the butter needed. For icing I use the recipe on the back of the Ghiridelli unsweetened cocoa. I substitute almond milk and Earth balance butter for the dairy portion...
  4. Oh my gosh! 3-5 days!? Is there any way to prevent it? What did the eye dr say about it today?
  5. dbmamaz, Everyone is different in respect to how long they have to stay on the candida diet. Moldlady was exposed for over 19 years ( i think) to a moldy building. She'll answer that question better than I when she gets a chance to log on. I have been at this for about 1 1/2 years. Only very strict at the beginning. Now I can allow myself...
  6. Coconut soup....I got this idea from Mama Fu's Restaurant. They serve their coconut soup with chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes. So, you can make soup however you like, but here's what I do: Saute in the pot thin sliced carrots, celery, organic onions, add garlic towards the end. When slightly cooked add a good quality chicken broth. You can add really...
  7. Homemade chicken nuggets: I keep a big jar of homemade gluten free bread crumbs in the freezer for different uses. Just food process a loaf of gluten free bread and freeze. Get 3 bowls ready 1) 2 eggs with about 1/2 cup coconut milk (lite)- whisk 2) Brown Rice Flour 3) gluten free bread crumbs Get some coconut oil heating on the stove in a big...
  8. Hi all, I just wanted to report my acupuncture appointment went very well today. She did acupuncture, of course, moxa (where you heat the needles) and cupping. She was very thorough and she said I was very stagnant. She says my liver and spleen are stressed a bit and my digestion needs "heating". Said to avoid dairy for sure that it will only stanate...
  9. I believe she would be doing the colonoscopy to check for internal bleeding since you are so iron deficient. My coworker is having that done due to a small iron deficiency. Unfortunately, Iron deficiency can be due to so many other issues. If it were me (and I am a big scaredy cat) I would follow the diet and see if my iron levels improved. If...
  10. I make yummy gluten free homemade chicken nuggets using coconut oil and coconut milk. The kids love it. I don't notice any reaction to it at all Also, I make coconut soup too that is SOOOOO good!
  11. I have candida as well and hey, maybe you won't have to be gluten free forever! That might be the bright side of it. I couldn't tolerate gluten at the beginning of my candida journey and now I can in small doses. A good quality probiotic like Natren or Healthy Trinity for you and the family should be a good start. Definately start the babies one specific...
  12. Rachel, Have you seen anything out of.....oh.....what's your alien baby's name again? Anyway, just wondering how that was going.... April
  13. Oh okay, wouldn't have thought to look there. Thanks!
  14. You might try replenishing your gut flora with a healthy human strain probiotic like Natren Brand. I had a BAD sensitivity to gluten because of a systemic candida yeast condition. This can cause leaky gut and all sorts of wierd reactions, itchiness, eczema, ect. I got to where I was reacting to everything. I started only eating what I knew I could...
  15. Julie, I get slack too on certain aspects like dry skin brushing for instance. And the funny thing is....I have been waking up itchy in the middle of the night. So, I'll start that back up! Do you do the castor oil pack on your liver? That is where my ND suggested. I need to do that too! Moldlady, I have been unable to find the...
  16. You have to buy the "wheat free Tamari". Says on the front of the label. I, too, make my own teriyaki because i have not yet found one that is gluten free.
  17. Hey Paula, glad you are feeling better. Sounds like you were having a lot of toxic buildup. Glad the bath worked. You might try that anytime you aren't feeling so good. I don't know about the length of time with phases, but since you are still herxing, I would say you need to be on it a bit longer.
  18. Thanks Moldlady! Glad to see you popping in over here I had looked at those clay baths and was considering trying it, once I recoup some money.... Thanks Julie, too! Those two explanations definately help me understand it better. I will do them more often. I can easily get my kids in those kind of baths, too. Ohh...I'd want to throw that...
  19. I am so mad at myself for spending so much money I DIDN't have on that doc! I know I gotta get over it and some of those things we tested DID need to be tested.....Does anyone else's LLMD charge by the *minute*? UGH! I guess I feel like it was money wasted because I really didn't get anywhere. Oh well, I should have my lyme tests back next week...
  20. It really sounds like you are on the right track! She will probably heal up in no time. I went through this with my little boy when he was about 1 years old. I introduced the L-glutamine to help speed things along with gut healing. But the gluten free diet was key. He went from skinny, swollen belly, dark circles under his eyes and NOT growing to immediate...
  21. Julie, How much hydrogen peroxide do you do? Do the epsom salts help with detox. I have always wondered how this actually works. I didn't know if it was the fact of taking a hot bath and trying to sweat or if the epsom salts do some detoxing on their own. I use baking soda too, although not sure what it does either
  22. The probiotics are great for restoring healthy gut flora. You can also introduce some L-Glutamine to heal the intestinal lining. A Naturopathic Dr. is great for helping with this kind of issue. Make sure the probiotics are a good Human strain. And I think at that age they need Bifidus Bacterium. Don't quote me on that, but I know some are better...
  23. You can get rid of eczema. Its usually a sign of gut disturbance. I have read many cases on the Yeast Connection Forum of people getting rid of it. The idea is to starve the fungus (yeast) so you have to avoid anything starchy especially sugar, kill the fungus with antifungals, and then replenish with probiotics. So you are on the right track already...
  24. Thanks Doc! WHEW! Glad that's over!! Good to know about the glues! I would much rather spend my money on the sauna than someone cutting a 1 inch slice out of my butt!!!
  25. Thanks for being honest! That is what I need right now. I think to myself, what will the fat biopsy change in terms of treatment? I will still need to do the FIR Sauna and he said some "nutritional support" which maybe I can figure out on my own. So, by cutting on me, it really doesn't change much. It only *proves* that I have pesticides. Today...
