That's hilarious. I *think* I've tried Betty Crocker??? I did recently try KA gluten-free brownies and they were pretty dang good for a box mix.

I haven't tried the brownie mix, but I have used the cake and the chocolate chip cookie mix and they are both good (especially when you are away from home.  Beats any "store bought" gluten-free cookie or cake.  My entire family gobbled down those cookies and they aren't on a gluten-free diet.

Mixes are disallowed from crossig our threshold. Brownies are probably the simplest baking product to make gluten free. Try them with a touch of cayenne or chipotle! I once tried a BC cake - if brownies are anything like the cake, they would be deplorable.

      I hadn't been eating gluten free before having the antibody test done. I started eating gluten free after having the test done because the gastro PA told me to eat gluten-free for 6 months. I'm now 3 months in.

      I tend to agree with RMJ. Your doc took the reasonable and practical approach to diagnosis. All things considered, it was the right way to go. However, if you have first degree relatives that show signs of possible celiac disease, urge them to get formally tested before they start the gluten free diet.

      It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.
