The Big Loaf

Wasn't sure where to put this. The products section is supposed to be about whether or not something is gluten-free and we all know Udi's is gluten-free.

Anyway, last night I went to buy some and they had a 24 oz. loaf instead of the 12 oz. loaf I have been buying. The 24 oz. loaf is only $11.12 and the 12 oz. is $7.41. A no-brainer as to which one to buy.

Is this new or just new to my area? I don't think I've ever seen the big loaf online but then I wasn't looking for it. If my store keeps carrying this it will save me quite a bit of money. Makes me very happy.

Wow!  I have not seen it yet, I will ask at Festival Foods if they can get it.  I love Udi's bread.  Thank you bartful.

I wish I could eat Udi's !  I am so glad they are making a regular big loaf size. Now you can make some wicked grilled cheese sammies! :D

We find the larger loaf at Costco.... $ 7.99 for one loaf.... I believe this is the loaf that is also sold to restaurants who make gluten-free... It is good to make a Real size sandwich but we don't like it toasted but do like it grilled!!!! It comes into the business frozen; many times it is out on a bread shelf, we do put it back in the freezer after we separate the slices....

I have only been able to buy this from Jason's Deli at about  eleven bucks. It is so nice to have a normal sized sandwich! No stores around here carry it.

LOL Doesn't it seem funny that $11.12 is a good deal for a loaf of bread?!   :P

I was  just  at  Costco  &  they lowered  the  loaf  to $6.99 a dollar  less  than before...... I feel  very lucky when I see  what  others  are paying!

Yes! I saw this yesterday at my Costco (Northern VA -- Pentagon City). I bought two loaves, and couldn't believe my eyes because I didn't know they were making a larger loaf.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
