Colonoscopy Prep solutions

My doctor prescribed me Clenpiq but I called and they say there's something in it that's sourced from wheat but it has <20 ppm. Would you use it?

Is there a different prep that you've checked and is gluten free?

Also if you've done this multiple times, is there one prep that's more tolerable and more gentle than others?

Here are the ingredients:

Each bottle of CLENPIQ contains 10 mg sodium picosulfate, USP; 3.5 g magnesium oxide, USP; and 12 g anhydrous citric acid, USP. The product also contains the following inactive ingredients:
acesulfame potassium, cranberry flavor, disodium edetate, malic acid, sodium benzoate, sodium hydroxide, sodium metabisulfite, sucralose, and water. The cranberry flavor contains glyceryl triacetate (triacetin), maltodextrin and sodium octenyl succinated starch.

I’m not sure what would be from wheat, perhaps the maltodextrin or starch?  Either of those would be highly processed, and in small amounts since they are part of the flavoring. Since they say it is <20ppm I’d use it.

My gastroenterologist works with me on homemade prep since I can not tolerate citric acid, magnesium, salt, dyed, flavorings. I boiled a huge pot of water with potatoes, peas, green beans, carrots and cooked duck for an hour and everything was mush. Strained it twice until I had an almost clear broth which I refrigerated. I drank a glass every 2 hours for 48 hours as well as apple juice up until the last 12 hours. I also stopped eating certain foods 5 days in advance like nuts, seeds and red colored foods. I took the Miramax and dulcolax on schedule. Yes all that was eliminated was water form to the last few hours before my procedure. But I was clear as a whistle for the camera. Had an immaculate reading thankfully.

Hope you find a prep that works for you.

Due to weird reactions to miralax and dulcolax my last prep I started a liquid broth only diet 48 hours before the scope with no solids, then the day before I took 2 whole bottles of Magnesium Citrate and 48oz of warm water My gut it odd so it took 8 hours to flush me out but after that I was cleared for the scope the next morning. (I did have some lemon juice in mineral water the Evening before to keep up my electrolytes and minerals)

I knew there was no way I could get down the 48-64 oz of suprep or go-litely in an hour's time and then do it again in the morning so it was either give me something else or I won't have this test.  I was prescribed PREPOPIK which was wonderful compared to the other stuff.

Mix one packet in 5 oz of water and drink.  Over the next 5 hours drink five - 8 oz glasses of water.

Next morning repeat except you only have to drink three additional glasses, not five.

This did not have a horrible nasty taste, it wasn't yummy like ice-cream but it was certainly better than the other stuff.  People have likened it to Mountain Dew.  My doctor was concerned because sometimes this doesn't do a 100% job of cleaning you out so he also had me take a bottle of magnesium citrate the day before.  Between the two I was clean.

I highly recommend this.

I'm confused about these results. We are not seeing the GI doc. He's totally out of our price range. We can just do gluten free like we do for my daughter who was off the charts on all of these. Any thoughts? Maybe we caught it early? He's only 5.  His EMA was negative. That got cut out of the photo.

@TempCloud  How are you doing?  I hope you aren't reacting too badly? I would most likely react like Trents.  That said, I have read accounts of some coeliacs not showing any symptoms after glutening, after a long break from eating gluten.  But should that happen to you, unfortunately it should not be interpreted as the 'green light' to go back to gluten.  I am afraid coeliac disease at the present is a lifelong condition, and so, too, must be the gluten free diet.  Here are some tips to try, to help you feel better.
