Boy, wat did your coworker say to her.......or was it the result of your reaction to it.

Andrea,

I dont know what my co-worker told her. She's my friend but totally a "drama queen" ....who knows what she said.

The new manager never actually *saw* me reacting to her perfume so its just whatever everyone told her....and also the fact that I called my co-worker and said I probably wouldnt come back to work after lunch.

Anyways, the girl is really nice...she came up to me today and apologized a bunch of times. She felt really bad....I think she was a little embarrassed about it. She was mad at Michelle for not mentioning it to her. She said shes not gonna wear any perfume anymore. :)

All of you guys who are Racheling chocolate and ice cream. I am sooooo JEALOUS!!!

The doctor said I cant have dairy anymore so its been 2 weeks since I've had ice cream. :(

AndreaB Contributor

Rachel,

I don't eat dairy anymore either. I suppose you can't have chocolate since it's higher in histamines, or is it the caffeine?

Rachel, sorry you are having trouble with the birds nesting again, I think you posted a thread about this over the summer if I am not mistaken. Hopefully the tips Patti and the others gave you will be helpful.

Yup...I did have a thread about the birds back when they first appeared. The thing that sucks is that my house is two story...so they are above the porch but all the way at the top of the house. I cant reach up there even with the ladder I have. The porch light is all the way up there too and its been burnt out for like 5 years now cuz I cant get up there to change it. Its really freakin high up. The birds werent dumb about where they chose to nest. <_<

I cant sweep the area like Patti does either. I havent even figured out how I'll get the nest down yet. :(

Rachel--I have an idea, though it'll cost ya--you could have it power washed. Maybe a company that does houses would give you a special rate to come and do just your doorway.

We have a power washer, and that's how my husband got it clean to begin with--the stuff is too sticky to use a regular hose.

Hi Everyone - I wanted to mention that I had blood sugar issues and would frequently black out during the day until I deteremined my metabolic type and started eating according to that. "The Metabolic Typing Diet" is a very helpful book. It's NOT a Dr. Mercola thing, although he does tend advocate that type of eating every so often. I think the book is worth looking at, as opposed to just taking an online test. It helped me anyway. I guess everyone has a different magical solution that eventually helps....

Sorry you can't have ice cream anymore Rachel. I'm really craving something ice creamy myself. Someone go find some Sharon's coconut sorbet and have some for me (need an emoticon but I can't see images on this dang computer...)

How tall is your ladder? Do you have a neighbor that has a ladder that you can borrow that is taller? Pressure washing is good. We had a friend down the street that loaned us theirs to wash our old house before we moved. Couldn't believe the difference.

The way my husband took care of the bird won't be too popular, but it worked, so I'll post it. We were concerned because at the time we had very small children and the birds were pooping all over the front porch. He went out at night and shot one. (Told you you wouldn't like it). He cleaned up the mess, they came right back! He shot a second one and didn't clean it up, we NEVER had another bird nest on our front porch. I think he used a bb gun because it wasn't like there was blood and guts up there or anything like that, I couldn't even tell it wasn't cleaned up, except that the nest was down.

We had tried everything else before we resorted to this ...

My house peak is probably 25-30', so I paid a realy cool guy $200 to do the entire house and deck. First time done since I moved in... 6 years ago. Looks MUCH better. Esply the north side that used to be neon green. :D

Yea--one side of our house gets neon green, too! We bought a pressure washer a couple years ago, and it's already paid for itself. We do the house, deck and even the "green" side of our next door neighbor's house :D It's especailly good on the windows/screens.

I would like to get one, but I would still pay some one to clean the house. :)

Morning everyone!

Andrea, sure, I'd consider driving to Sacramento! I have a friend who lives there (actually the friend that I'll be cruising with, and who I actually do all my travelling with it seems, lol). I don't know my way around there since I've only been there a few times and each time it was to my friend's house...but I'm sure she'd tell me how to get around.

Daxin Explorer

Wow...lots to catch up on.

Back from my weekend trip and glad to report I was not glutened.

Hope everyone is feeling better over the next little while. I know I was feeling lousy before I left, and now everyone else in this house seems to have a touch of something.

TAlk to you all soon

Glad you didn't get glutened Ryan. Hope everyone is on the mend soon.

Ok, That's Rachel and Donna so far for meeting in Sacramento. My hubby thinks I need to fly down instead of drive or take the train. It would depend on if we wanted to just get together for a day or the weekend. When is another problem.....sometime in the next year?

We usally come up twice a year, and either stay with her mom in Toms River, or my mom in Manchester. Since we are saving up for the Adoption, I suspect we will not be up this Christmas, so not sure when next trip will be.

Patti,

Would you be able to save up money to come over next year? We could go in on a hotel room....

We are about halfway between Philadelphia and Trenton. You could hit us on your way to Toms River, which is east of us.

That would be fun if you could visit--definately let me know whenever! You already have the address :D

Any new developments on the adoption?

well we com up via i95/turnpike, then get off on 195 towards Great Adventure... so would not go by you, but that would not stop us from driving out to see ya, esply since you have a gluten-clue!

As for the Adtoption, we are jsut trying to get mioney right now. We have had one realy nice member of this boiard donate enough to cover the fingerprinting/back ground check, but still need around 2500 to get through all the homestudies/etc, and that has to be completefd before we can apply for any grants/aid.

So not much.

Yep, some time in the next year would work for me, but probably not until some time after the first of the year... :)

Thanks for the pressure washing tip.. :)

TheDave actually has a power washer and I was thinking of using it. The only thing I was worried about is that there's a big arc shaped window directly above the door and goes almost all the way to the top....but not as high up as the nest is. I was worried if the spray hit the window it might break???? Not really sure though cuz I've never used a power washer before.

However, I DO have problems with one area of my house being "green"....I never even thought of pressure washing it!! Great idea! What is up with the green stuff anyway? What causes it?

Unlikly the window would break.

The green stuff is mold, it grews where the house gets damp and does not dry out fast (usally the north side, or any side that gets alot of shade).

It needs to be cleaned off, cuase over time it can eat in to your house....very slowly, but surely.

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗

I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
