Ok so your answer was so broad as to what music you play, how can i make requests?

Oh can i just say- AVOCADOS_ oh my how i wish i could eat those - they kill me !! the last time i had one I was so sick my mom made me promise her i would not even attmpt to eat one for 2 years- i think its been a yr.

You missed it.

You mean my mom visit on the computer. She is afraid of computers. She only comes on here to look and see if she has money in the bank it pay for stuff for me and that's all. She needs a magnifying glass to read things. Oh and my age, I am 34 years old and I weigh about 89 or 90 pounds.

Lisa-

I am in your weight boat- and I completly know how you feel I look frightening. I think I forget how thin i am . Lat year i tried on a bathing suit and when i came out with it on my mom and I both just made excuses to leave the room becasue we both had started to cry.

happygirl Collaborator

ok, ive officially lost my mind. I went back and saw it (page 1154 in case anyone's particularly interested---ha!) and now I remember reading it (bc I compared it to mine). And how could we forget the discussion of the men in that post ;)

sorry bev, i had forgotten i read it... :) i think i am "less than ideal"---not sure if i'm starting a flare, or out of it from the new meds, etc.

I am down to three ind bands total...no positives.

thanks, andrea, for posting the combo.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Lisa, I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. You are really on the right track. I would be surprised if mercury was your only problem, but you are off to a good start taking care of it.

Mia, you, too. Are you seeing someone for the Lyme yet?

if I was drinking alcohol I think he would just flat out tell me I'm not gonna get better.

This is what Dr. B says ... not enough sleep and still drinking alcohol are why Lyme patients don't get better.

Maybe it is a parent thing, then. I hope I do not do that to my children. I will not say I won't, because you know how that always ends up. Anytime you say you will not act like your parents, you end up doing the exact same thing! I prefer to not make any promises I cannot keep!

Don't get me wrong ... I don't treat them slave-like, it's just that I figure they live here, it's not a country club, everyone can contribute. I also expect a lot of myself.

My son's summer job hasn't started yet due to his poor planning abilities, so I told him that he works here two hours a day. Today he scrubbed walls with bleach (the ones he got dirty on the basement stairs) and cleaned the glass on the doors. He's also mulching the flower beds. I think that since they're able, it's good for them to work.

And sometimes that work is turning a light on for me ... but they would never deny that I do more around here than them when my health permits.

I'm loving music again. (I mean *reeeaaaalllly* loving - lookin like a lunatic at stoplights). Enjoyed the hell out errands(!) even and wish I could break out the sax RIGHT NOW! (Prob not the best idea in these apts - I play loud.)

And this is even after making a bit of a fool of myself in an email to Pseu-zee!! hehehehe ;)

But hey - SHE called ME! (Oh dingy u were gonna tell 'em anyway, if u hadn't already!)

Um, yeah, I think the two are connected. And SaXes are always loud.

Tell us about the fool you were.

So glad you are feeling so good. This wouldn't have anything to do with a certain phone call would it? No need to answer, I'm glad you two are friends. :)

 You said to put it on the backburner but you brought it up. :P

I agree. With all statements.

carla, what is the mepron like?

It's the color of the emoticons. It's as thick as kefir. It tastes very bad ... leaves and almost stinging after-taste. But I love it because it KILLS BABS!

There is a babs buddies thread on Lymenet that's kind of fun. We've talked about Mepron yellow nail polish, etc. We get silly, but the talk about herxes is a little scary. It's some serious medicine, but it works.

Be sure you eat it with fat because it's fat soluble.

You'll love it because when the babs dies off, you lose some of the more annoying symptoms -- for me it was night sweats, air hunger (very, very annoying and took a conscious effort to stop hyperventilating from it), and heart palpitations.

NoGluGirl Contributor

Dear Lisa,

I get those symptoms as well. The light and sound bother me worse when the nausea is bad. My teeth are not turning, but some of them are going bad. I did not have trouble with this until recently. I may be grinding them, though.

Detoxing is a bit different than chelation. Detoxing is cleansing the system of impurities in general. Chelation is the safe removal of heavy metals from the system. I hope that makes sense. It is sort of confusing.

Dear tom,

I was sick with bronchitis twice year since infancy! It was awful. I had asthma to the point a lot of things irritated it.

The asthma improved as I got older, but so many other issues like digestive ones remained. Then, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, gallbladder disease, anemia, and Thyroid problems to sum it up. My doctor just diagnosed me as a Celiac this year.

At least you are improving. That is wonderful news! :) It sounds like the soy was causing major issues for you. Patti cannot have it, either. I think she can tolerate soy lecithin, but no other form of it.

Dear Donna,

Is that like a sound purifier? Or does it cut down on excessive noise? I am not sure what you are talking about. I was thinking about one of those sound therapy things. You know, the ones that help you relax?

Dear Laura and Julie,

Yep, I am a youngin' too! I am 24. Despite this, I feel quite old. I do not know if it is all I have been through or what. It is such a strange thing.

Wow Laura! The similarities in your bands and Bev's are amazing! :o That is so weird! It is like you guys are twins! Lyme Twins!

Dear Rinne,

I try to stay as positive as possible. It is not easy some days. However, I took this aura quiz a while back, and it tells you the brightest layer of your aura. Mine was white. They said that a divine energy is within me from the universe! I hope so, because that could really be helpful in my religion! :P

Sincerely,

Jin

Klinghardt does recommend high protein diet in his detoxification protocol.

Ok, so how high is a high protein diet. Normal for adults seems to be 50-70 or so.

Wait a minute.......it's probably mostly Rachel's fault with her mile long posts. :P:lol:

Who me??

Hehe....I have no time for scientificness in the morning as I'm always running late for work. You wont see any mile long posts from me until at least lunch time. :P

I cannot be blamed for excessive posting in the AM. :P

Popping to say hi. Hope everyone is doing Ok. Actually feel semi-human today! Took a good two hour nap.

Glad you feel better...almost human even! :P

I've noticed I crave caffeine a lot less and CANNOT drink enough water. Weird...I used to have to force myself to drink it.

Oh gaaaaaawd...me too. I HATED water all my life....you could not pay me to drink it. I always said "But it has NO flavor!".

So now its been over 2 full years since I've drank anything other than water. Thats all I drink...nothing else. Well...except for the barium I HAD to drink (it tasted good to me). Oh yeah....and my hot ice cream.

I blame Rachel, Susan and Tom. :P:lol:

I blame Donna.

It is like "Yep, but despite that, I have been through some bodacious scat!"

ROFLMAO

Jin...you and me both on the bodacious scat.

Hey rachel

I was fine with lights till they started taking the fillings out. What happened? I didn't go to the dentist yesterday because I was so sick. DOn't have another appointment till july 12. But I think that might be best so Maybe I can get some mercury out or something?

I'm gald you skipped yesterdays appt. I think the dentist might be doing the removals too close together for you. I think you need longer breaks in between.

I think whats happening is you're having a hard time detoxing and before you can stabalize...BOOM...you're getting another one drilled out. So its accumulating and making you feel pretty bad. I think you need more rest and time to take the stress of your body in between the removals. You might want to talk to the dentist and Dr. about this.

Also...you're probably are having flares with the yeast during this process. I think your eyes are more sensitive because of the toxicity in your body increasing.

I would definately see about spacing the remaining removals farther apart and also doing more things to help yourself detox.

How much water do you drink in a day?? This is really important....make sure you're drinking ALOT of water to help flush out the toxins. Think *excretion*....this means through the bowels and through the urine...try to do everything you can to "keep things moving".

I have a appointment with the new doc on the 23 I think but she might call me at home. The receptionist is going to give her my phone number so she can call me she was toxic at one time too.

Good...I'm glad you're seeing her. I hope she's really good and can get you through this.

I'll be looking forward to hearing about your appt. :)

My mom looked at me and started crying yesterday. I look like an AIDS patient or someone from the concentration camps. I look scary. Can you die from this?

You're not gonna die...you're gonna be ok...I promise. ;)

Lots of us here have gotten to be really underweight. I know Miamia, myself and Laura all got to be pretty thin. We're still alive though :) ...I've gained more than half the weight back. :)

I was really self conscious about my weight loss.....I got to 94 lbs. Its scary and I'm worried for you but I know you're going to be ok once you are under the care of a knowledgeable Dr. This is the *key* to your recovery....you need a Dr. with experience.

What is the diffenece between detox and chelate. They seem the same to me.

They arent really the same. Detoxification is a natural part of how the body should work when healthy. The bad stuff goes in and then comes out. It can detox through the skin, mucus membranes, liver, kidneys, etc.

We can do things to help ourselves detox like excercise, eat right, drink lots of water, coffee enemas, saunas, castor oil packs, epsom salt baths, etc.

Some of those are obviously too taxing on your system right now but those are examples of things which help detoxification.

Have you ever tried epsom salt bath?? That might be helpful for you right now. You just fill the bath with 1-2 cups of epsom salts and a small amount of baking soda and then just soak in it.

I can post more info. if you're interested.

Most of us here are having trouble with detoxing because of too many toxins which have accumulated in the body...so we need extra help getting it out...since our bodies arent functioning like they would if we were in a healthy state.

Chelation means taking something which has the properties needed to "bind" with mercury and pull it out of the areas which it has stored itself. A chelator will pull mercury from the tissue, the cells, all the places where mercury is stored and wont come out on its own.

The DMPS you took for your "challenge test" was a chelator. It pulled mercury from certain areas of your body so that it could be excreted through your urine. Once all this mercury is "stored" in the body...it needs help with getting it out since the body cant naturally detox all of it.

It might take a lifetime or more for that mercury to come out on its own....we dont want to be sick for a lifetime...so thats where the chelator comes along. It will pull that mercury out so that we can get rid of it.

You need a good Dr. when you go through chelation. It can be risky if not done right....this is why you want someone very knowledgable working with you. Someone who understands everything involved.

Oh I forgot Rachel what was the company you use for minerals you posted? I cant remember. Oh wait I remember now caridovascular research. The vitamin shoppe has

Comprehensive minerals liquid nothing added by Source Naturals. Would this be o.k. you think?

It's 30 bucks though for a 16 oz bottle. :o

If your father was willing to foot the bill to see Dr. Klinghardt we'd open up our home to you though. He's (his clinic) about 3 hours north of us. Also Dr. Amy that Rachel sees down in Cali is about 3 hours north of us.

Andrea...you are such a sweetie.

Its not too easy to get in to see Klinghardt. I'm thinking months to year long waiting list??

He's always traveling and doing stuff....conferences, teaching Art, Autism workshops....he's all over the place and lots of people want to see him.

I read on an Autism site where the mother of a child was saying this....the waiting list for Dr. K. is long but Dr. Amy is the next best thing...shes great and alot easier to schedule with.

Oh...I havent written my email yet cuz I'm waiting for Dr. Amy to get back to me with the results of this test shes running for me. She said she was probably gonna do the test Thursday...(tomorrow)....and I should hear from her soon after.

Rachel's mom, Cheryl, comes by to visit occasionally and I am wondering if your Mom would like to too. :)

Yeah...my mom posts now and then but she always reads or asks whats going on. Lisa....my mom asks about you all the time. She calls you Tobasco. :D

Oh and my age, I am 34 years old and I weigh about 89 or 90 pounds.

Dr. Sheehan (I think that is the name) is Amy's partner. Sounds like she's spent a lot of time with Klinghardt as well. Have you heard anything about her? She has a website with the Bellevue clinic listed as well as a Spokane clinic (Eastern WA). Didn't find any website for just the clinic with both listed. Dr. Klinghardt's site lists both of them though.

Yeah...Dr. Hesse-Sheehan is working with Amy at the clinic. I dont know anything about her but I *may* end up meeting her in the future. Amy talked about possibly getting me over to the clinic to see her partner but thats all still up in the air. We're trying to figure out some other stuff first.....mostly about LED.

I'll explain all that in my email. :)

Hey Rachel

Thank you for all the info and reassuring me that I am not going to die. I believe though that God had told me to about also. Hey we need to give your spaceship a NAME. That would be fun! What should it be. Oh And the epsom salt bath recipe would be great. I would have to clean the tube good though because my family uses regular soaps and wheat shampoos.

Ok so your answer was so broad as to what music you play, how can i make requests?

But I've played in a lotta diff bands over the years!

And if I could play your request, how would u hear it?

But seriously, I haven't even opened the case in 2-3 yrs, and maybe 3x in the 2yrs b4 that. THAT's why it's so exciting to be SO itchin' to play!

With the right musicians, so that the "whole is greater than the sum of the parts" it's magical.

I saw Anna tonight. :)

I havent been for an appt. with her in like 5 weeks!!

She says I've been on her mind alot cuz she went up to Canada for some training (I think she has another clinic over there too) and they discussed new treatments for yeast and fungal issues. She said I'm always the first one she thinks of when fungal issues come up....I'm probably one of the worst cases shes ever seen...if not the worst. :o

So they are using this new homeopathic for detoxing yeast and aspergillus mold...(which always shows up for me in BioSET). She wants me to try this to see if we can get some of these yeasts and molds to start detoxing.

She said when we can get the yeast under control we'll have alot easier time detoxing the metals.

We talked all about what went on with Dr. Amy and what new treatments I've started. I mentioned the LED....Anna is a little concerned about this for me because of how sensitive I am. She thinks LED might be too rough for me.....but theres still alot to learn before I even venture into something like that.

We talked about the B12.....improving methylation and the problems with my pathways. She had a diagram and was trying to explain to me how it all works....or how its all suppossed to work. All these things need to work together to keep the pathways functioning...B12 is essential...and it works with alot of other stuff to keep things moving and detoxing.

Without B12 the pathways can stop functioning. Its all that scientific stuff having to do with methionine, sulfur, glutathione....B6....all these different things that work together. She showed me on the diagram how things should be working but without methylation (B12 is needed for this) things can shut down.

She said this is whats happening with me and also with the autistic kids she treats. She said the only thing thats saved me from Autism is the fact that I'm developed...if not for my age I would be Autistic. :(

I was asking her what she thinks happened...did the mercury by itself cause the pathways to become dysfunctional??.... or was it the pathogens that created the problem so that when I was exposed to mercury I just wasnt able to detox from it??

She said it can happen that way but she thinks my situation is a little different. She thinks that my immune system became overwhelmed (mercury and yeast) and started sensitizing to things like sulfur which are necessary for detoxification. My immune system has become sensitive to things that are required to keep the pathways working and this creates "holes" in the pathway....so its just not working the way it should and things dont get detoxed.

If I cant detox sulfur...then I cant detox metals...if I cant detox metals then I cant detox yeast, etc, etc. I *think* thats what she was saying.

She said methylation allows for a protective like "coating" over our cells and covers our DNA...our DNA is totally protected. However, when we stop methylating the "coating" can become "unraveled" and this is when pathogens can get into areas which would normally be protected. She said the pathogens can penetrate the cells at the deepest level...which would be where our DNA is. Obviously this is not a good thing.

So she said this is the kind of stuff going on with Autism. The MMR is the one she brought up specifically.

I asked her if since I'm older can I recover a little easier than the kids with autism??

She said I probably can because of the fact that I'm not dealing with MMR (measles/mumps/ rubella). I have no problems with MMR, any other vaccines or viruses. My testing was totally clean for all those things.

The main thing for me is the fungal/yeast issues. She said even though the kids are dealing with yeast as well....its not nearly as severe as my case is. My fungal issues are really bad. :(

The good news is that when she tested me tonight she said I'm holding my own. She was testing the yeast and fungus....if you guys remember in the past I always did very poorly with this stuff. Well tonight she said I didnt even need a treatment....I tested really well. Its the first time I tested well. :D

She said it could be improving because I'm not eating all that ice cream anymore.

So she ordered a repeat of the yeast antibody test I took earlier this year. In that last test my antibodies were through the roof...over 8000. :o

She wants to make sure the antibody levels are coming down.

I didnt have the blood drawn yet...gonna bring the test to Dr. S. next week and have it done there since insurance will cover it there...but not if its done at BioSET.

She wants to see me again after I've been on my B-12 shots (and other stuff from Dr. Amy) for at least 2 weeks and also have the yeast antibody results in. So we'll go over all that in 3-4 weeks probably.

I hope my levels have gone down some.

She said the more my antibodies go down the better I'm gonna feel. If I can get my antibodies down from 8,196 to say....4,000....I'll feel alot better.

The normal range is 0-2248....so 4000 would still be really high but MUCH better than where I was.

Somehow I dont think I'm gonna be that much lower though. <_<

Anyways it will be interesting to see the results. :)

Dear Claire,

It is so nice that you popped by! We miss you! Thank you for the information on the easy castor oil packs. I am not sure if I should use them yet. What do you think? Could they help me?

Hi Jin, Castor oil packs are pretty safe, so yeah, go for it.

I miss you guys too  , but now I'm on another mission B) . I'm now a thread mistress on another board. The topic is Eastern Medicine (acupuncture & herbs) and TTC (trying to conceive). It's my latest obsession, so that's where I'm spending most of my internet time now.

DH and I finally decided to wait until August/September to do our IVF. In the meanwhile, I'll be really gearing up my body to get ready.

I'll also be in CA in August - San Jose and Pacific Grove. Any of you crazy guys and gals live near there? I love Big Sur - the Redwoods, beach, Monterey cypress, and sea otters!

Rachel, I've been seriously considering seeing someone for ART here in Boulder. How do you get a recommendation for someone? I found someone off the internet, but I don't know if she is any good. I could also go see someone in Denver since it's so close. Does Dr. Amy ever go to Denver?

I want to have some peace of mind about mercury toxicity in me, and of course lyme disease. An amalgam filling did break on me about 5 years ago. I can't believe someone put a mercury amalgam in me in 1998, but they did and I was clueless. Anyhoo, that's the amalgam that broke and I had it replaced with a composite filling by a dentist who doesn't use mercury. I probably swallowed some of that amalgam and I have no idea how it affected me. I'm also wondering if my digestive troubles started when I got that amalgam back in '98, but who knows? I have 5 other amalgams from when I was a kid, and they seem stable (don't make amalgams like they used too <_< ). I just want to rule out any problems with mercury. I won't have time to remove all my fillings and detox before I get pregnant, but I want to improve my chances. I'm turning 41 in August, so I'm feeling a bit nervous about getting older. Basically, in terms of my fertility, I'm considered a senior citizen :P !

I dont think Dr. Amy goes to Colorado. If you're gonna go ahead and get it done I would do a little research and see who's the most qualified in your area. Like Dr. Amy said....anyone can take classes and learn these types of tests (we werent talking about ART but something similar) but it doesnt mean they have alot of experience or can really give you the most reliable results. I would try to find someone whos been doing it for awhile.

Heres a few suggestions...

You can go to LymeNET and post about finding someone who does ART in your area....hopefully someone can help you.

You can email Scott from his site.... Open Original Shared Link ....and ask if he has any recommendations on how to find a good practitioner.

Check out the directory for locating ART practitioners from this site..

Open Original Shared Link

Good luck! :)

Hope you can continue to stop by and visit us.

P.S.

I think ART is a great idea for you. :)

Donna...I'm noticing more and more posts on LymeNET about LED. Probably more awareness after Dr. Cowden just had a seminar a few weeks back. I know Scott and Dr. Amy were there....unfortunately Anna didnt go to this one.

I didnt really learn anything new from the Explorer article....its basically everything I've read previously put into one article.

I just read this LN post and thought I'd post it here. :)

I'm gonna talk to someone who's just tried it and find out more on the specifics. ;)

This is a post from the person who first suggested LED to me:

With this technique anything that is hanging up and stopping you from getting well is found and you will then know that you are not walking in the dark -- guessing at this co-infection or at that toxin. I wished this much quicker method had been available when I went through this.

If you have not looked at the underlying problems of Lyme, you have not looked in the right places.

Someone posted here a few days ago saying that she found an LED practitioner. I have seen the technique in great detail at a seminar with Dr. L.C. in 2004 and just a few weeks ago again. He is now teaching it here and abroad.

Please look into it - it will point you in the right direction.

Knowing what I know about you, I can't imagine that it hinges on food intake, etc. Rather look for the auto immune problems mentioned in the LED; and look for sulfa drug residuals that stop almost any detox cold in its tracks.

When known what it is that is holding you back, the LED people are well trained to guide you. There is not a human living on this planet that has not absorbed some of the environmental toxins ---

Sorry you have to listen to my old violin -- but that's the way it is - every patient that comes in to see Dr. K. or any of the practitioners that I communicate with --- it's always the same story:

detox the metals and the remaining microbes are forced out also.

As long as you have any heavy metals in you in certain places (hormone producing sites), healing won't happen. A heavy metal toxic body grows candida and fungi as fast as possible -- thereby saving itself.

You can go on an antifungal diet and starve yourself of good foods - as long as metals are in there, your body makes sure the fungi regrows to assure your survival. The fungi may be making your life just as miserable, but it's better than being dead.

The metals would kill us - were it not for the fungi. Dr. K. published this in the early nineties --- "Amalgam/Mercury Detox as a Treatment of Chronic Viral, Bacterial, and Fungal Illness" find it on www.mercuryexposure.org/index

It all sounds really good....but Anna is not so sure I can handle it. :(

It does sound good. I'll be curious to see what Dr. Amy comes up with as far as figuring if you can handle it.

Please don't lets me be intolerant to charcoal, but it's only when I take this I notice. It is only one capsule and I haven't changed my diet. ugh.

Desperately need a vitamin D supplement. I've reacted to most brands I've tried.

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind
