I'm totally bummed, apparently Jenny McCarthy was on Larry King Live again last night with another Autism panel and I missed it! I am always interested in what they say.

I sent you something on that. :)

Sherry,

I'd be curious as to what Dr E says as well.

Just now Andrea? I haven't received anything

I got the results of my last provoked urine test.

The results look just like Dr. Amy had predicted. I still have all the metals coming out (9 of them)....but just barely. So yeah...the mercury is locked up. Theres no reason to continue with IV DMPS right now.

I have an appt. with Dr. S. tomorrow and I plan on asking him for some specific tests to check out certain minerals and I also want to test my uric acid again.

The minerals on my Dr.'s Data report cant really give me any conclusive answers....Dr. S. had said its pretty useless as far as determining whats really low or high.

The report actually says this...I didnt notice it until today but it states:

Urine element analysis is intended primarily for: diagnostic assessment of toxic element status, monitoring detoxification therapy, and identifying or quantifying renal waste conditions.

It is difficult and problematic to use urinary elements analysis to assess nutritional status or adequacy for essential elements. Blood, cell and other elemental assimilation and retention parameters are better indicators of nutritional status.

As with my previous 2 tests the copper was off the charts but no way to tell if its truelly elevated.

The report says...Urine analysis (provoked or unprovoked) is not an adequate procedure to assess copper stores or copper metabolism. Blood levels, erythrocyte copper content, erythrocyte superoxide dismutase activity and serum ceruloplasmin are more indicative measurements for copper status.

So...I think I wanna have this checked with the proper test to see where I stand.

My molybdenum was also elevated in this test as well as the last one. In the first test it was not elevated...but once I started the mineral IV's it went up quite a bit.

The results says that Administration of supplemental copper in high doses can result in elevated urine molybdenum; copper and molybdenum are mutually antagonistic with respect to body retention. Tungsten is a more powerful antagonist.

It also mentions that molybdenum is an essential activator of those 3 important enzymes (mentioned in my earlier post) in the body.

April...I guess tungsten can come from welding. It says that individuals doing tungsten-inert-gas (TIG) welding may episodically excrete high amounts of molybdenum (but may actually be subnormal in body tissue levels).

So I need to find out if copper is high and then try to bring it down because it may very well be impairing enzyme function. One things leads to the next.

So if copper is high and causing low molybdenum then those 3 enzymes are impaired. If the sulfur oxidase enzyme is low then sulfites cannot be converted to sulfates. If sulfates are low then the PST enzymes are deficient (causing problems with breaking down food chemicals) and the sulfation pathway is impaired. Another consequence of sulfate deficiency is leaky gut.

And then theres also the other two important enzymes that are affected. One having to do with the formation of uric acid and the other is necessary for processing aldehydes.

Do you think the fatigue is travel related? Glad it is better today.

I don't know about the corn based grain alcohol, I hope you get some answers. Let us know what you find out.

I don't know, could be. Yesterday was pretty good, and this morning I felt quite good until I ate lunch, and then about 30 minutes after that I crashed a lot, not okay yet. I ate lima bean soup, only things in it were lamb, onion, salt and pepper. Ihave been eating this fine on occasion if I don't overdo so I don't know why such a strong reaction today. Only thing might be I have been having some inhalent allergy issues, maybe on top of that I reacted to the beans. I am somewhat allergic to them.

I haven't heard back from Dr. E. yet.

I know that the distillation is supposed to take care of the gluten, however, I know there are people on the forum who are sensitive to it even then.

Sorry for the weird font...it's fixed now. I had my browser set to type Chinese and it wouldn't switch out of that mode. I could type in English by toggling to that, but the font was totally weird. Had to close and restart...

Headed to bed...I'm too sick to stay up. I'm bummed. Everytime I think I am turning a corner--whammo.

My son and I both just tested positive for corn allergy. The ALlergist said that it wasn't bad enough to eliminate corn if we didn't care to, but that we should rotate it deffinitely.

He gave me papers on rotation which state that we can all develop allergies if we eat the same food over and over so rotation is the key to many allergies. I know a bunch of people that rotate and all their crazy symptoms went away.

Sherry, Sorry you're feeling bad. The trip probably took more out of you than you think. I'm still not back to normal after mine, but I'm doing a better each day.

Hi everyone...just a drive-by hello.

I took a turn for the worse again and haven't been able to focus on anything more than a sentence or two of scientificness. :(

Makeup threads...yeah, that's about all my brain can handle right now. :P

I'm sorry Sherry. :( The travel you just undertook can tire anyone, that makes for a very long day.

Other than that, I'd keep a log of when you hit down times. Could part of it be China?

Maybe getting the R/O installed with help as well......I don't know. Lots of little things can build up to make a big thing though. Could the gua sha (or whatever it is :P) have stirred up stuff even though you looked a lot better as far as coloring?

I can so relate, im so sick and trying to figure it out.

Yesterday i started to take l-glutamine in themorning then about 3 hours later i took my b 12 that i have been taking for weeks now. Then i was driving to watch my stepsons baseball game and i got all hot and light headed and dizzy. So i turned back home and came to bed and my hands were on fire and my feet were all tingly. So im not sure what caused it. Then yesterday i turned on the heat, and i have water base board heat, so im sure chlorine was seeeping threw the heating system. Today i still feel terrible and cant focus or anything.

Thanks for this link. My eyes kind of glazed over  It's very scientific, big words and chemistry, it will require lots of focus.

Sherry, I was wondering why your font was so fancy.

Sorry you aren't feeling so great. It could be any number of things. You were so rushed and stressed before you left trying to get everything in, you might just be feeling effects from that and after you got there just crashed (which can be a normal response after a stressful situation or time)

You also could have picked up something on the plane, the air is just circulated around with everybody's bugs.

And if you are mildly allergic to beans, could be you are reacting to those.

I hope you rebound quickly.

I'm still not back to normal after mine, but I'm doing a better each day.

Glad you continue to improve every day Carla.

Paula, I'm sorry.

I hope this isn't side effects of the chlorine in the water.

I researched chlorine a couple years back and I remember reading that it kills all the beneficial bacteria in the gut so it can really throw off the flora balance, but I don't recall what else it can do.

dlp252 Apprentice

Yes, can't wait to hear about Rachel's appt today with Dr. S! I had to bookmark that link...I took one look at the first paragraph and knew I'd have to wait at least until next week to look at it again. :P

Aw Paula, I'm so sorry! I haven't been reading much...how is the water situation?

Donna so sorry you took a turn for the worse :(:(

Yeah, this is a bad one. You mentioned a few pages back about not "caring"...I was sort of in that same place BEFORE this bug hit, and now it's just magnified a bunch. I'm just tired. :P

Im really thinking it is the chlorine, cause i cant find no side effects for l-glutamine but stmach problems, and i dont have them.

Im going to go and research more about chlorine, i know if i call the health department, they will shrug me off.

Have you taken l-glut before? Maybe that contributed.....along with the chlorine.

No i Havent and im not sure i ever will again lol.

Im wondring if i am having an relapse also. I have been off the candida diet and eating what ever i want, well besides glutem soy and casein. And i have been under so much stress from the water problem and isues with my stepsons mom (who is on the run) and im having nightmares she will come and take him or something.

Today i am just so frustrated and not sure what to do next.

AndreaB Contributor

Paula,

All that you are going through could definately contribute. One thing I've been dealing with is the fact that stress does put you in a worse spot healthwise, as well as emotionally and physically.

My husband was involved in an unavoidable accident last month. Luckily he was in the semi and hit the overturned car before another car came by, otherwise someone may have been critically injured. He was uninjured but his truck was badly damaged. He's been driving a single trailer truck and the pay is much less, but at least they are keeping him working. We are hoping he'll be back to doubles within the next few weeks. His truck is being turned into a logging truck so we don't know what he'll be getting.

Rachel,

Do you remember what your copper was?I mean the exact value?

thanks

Elisabet....I havent ever been tested for this yet.

It is measured in my provoked urine tests (along with all the other elements) but this is not a valid method of testing for copper toxicity. DMPS pulls out copper first so its normal for it to be elevated in the urine test following a dose of DMPS.

I do have the exact values for all 3 of my urine tests but they dont mean anything except that I had taken a chelator (DMPS) and it was effective....I excreted alot of copper.

Urine tests are not a good indicator of whats going on with copper.

I plan on getting the proper testing to see where I stand.

Awww Donna....sorry to hear that you're still not feeling good. Stupid ugly bugs!

Hopefully I'm not traumatizing too many brains around here with all this heavy scientificness.

I was gonna put a *warning* with my link to the molybdenum/candida page..."Do not open if brainfogged....scientificness may cause a worsening of symptoms!" :o

Next time I'll be more careful. :)

Oh...I'm not seeing Dr. S till Tuesday now. They didnt have room for me afterall...they wanted me to come in earlier than I was scheduled....but due to total chaos in my dairy dept. it just aint gonna happen. Gonna have to wait till Tues.

Its amazing how fast things can fall apart.....yesterday I was feeling like my dept. couldnt be in better shape...and then walk in this morning to a total freakin disaster. I think people just wanna torture me by making things as difficult as possible. Like I dont already have enough on my plate.

Well....ok...I really would like to have more on my plate. Like maybe some spaghetti and meatballs...with a whole loaf of garlic bread. B)

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Sherry, I was wondering why your font was so fancy.

Me too.....talk about traumatizing. My eyes havent been that scared since the board turned a heinous color of green. OMG...Sherry I'm really glad you were able to fix it.

Sorry you're not feeling good....hope you take a turn for the better very soon.

Have a good appt today, I'm interested in hearing what your Dr has to say about your results and all of this.

Well I already know what he'll say about my results. He already said it.....either I dont have a problem with metals or they arent coming out. He was waiting to see what Amy says since he isnt capable of getting the type of picture that she can get with ART.

Now I have to tell him that the mercury is still there....and not coming out. :(

I mostly wanna see if he can order some of the tests to help us figure out some different metabolic problems I might have affecting my pathways. Copper is one of the things I wanna have tested.

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Thanks for this link. My eyes kind of glazed over  It's very scientific, big words and chemistry, it will require lots of focus.

Sorry Julie. :P

I skipped over parts of it. It was interesting....they used kinesiology to come to their conclusions and found that molybdenum helped with most patients who had problems with candida.

Alot of what was mentioned was the same stuff I'd been posting but in greater (and more scientific) detail.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.

It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/

Thank’s for addressing the issue of mushrooms.  I was under the impression that only wild mushrooms were gluten-free.  Have been avoiding cultivated mushrooms for years. Also, the issue of smoked food was informative.  In France last year, where there is hardly any prepared take-out food that is gluten-free, I tried smoked chicken.  Major mistake!
