Paula,

Do you know whereabouts the tornados touched down. All I saw was northern Colorado.

The main one is in windsor, but there was more then one. It has been the only thing on the news all day. From what they just showed, she is not that close to the bad area, but doesnt mean she is not getting affects from it.

I would think the effects would definately be more widespread.

I haven't watched any videos, but it sounds pretty big.

I have a SIL in Lafayette.....unless she's moved since the address we have. I'll have to see where that is in Colorado.

confusedks Enthusiast
Well I don't need to go to that aisle as I was there last winter for a new bag...LOL. BUT, you'll never get me back there for a prescription at that pharmacy!!! I had nothing but headaches getting my meds there.

I LOVE Walgreens! They are so nice! :) As a matter of fact, they know me when I call.

Another excellent idea! I'm always up for Las Vegas! :DB)

I'm actually going to Vegas next weekend!

I just found out about a wedding I'm going to this summer! I'm SO excited!!! :D:) I haven't been to a wedding in a couple years! :P

Carla,

Thanks for posting that info. I will definitely talk to Dr H if this continues. I don't really care about having menstrual problems, except I don't want it to be something like PCOS undiagnosed. I just want to be able to have babies one day! :)

mftnchn Explorer
I see Sherry got so excited about Vegas in 3-4 years she didn't answer. Unless she's coming back 2x this summer, she's coming in towards the end of June. Only 1 month away!

That sounds like a very busy time for you. I hope you'll be able to get some rest/wind down time back home.

Nope just missed the Los Vegas idea until now, LOL! Maybe...right now more travel isn't exciting to me....you'd never believe it but I'm really a home body.

I think is likely just that particular one.....I really got angry at them.

Well folks, just me and my jug for the next few hours, lol! The IV went well, but I had a rough, rough morning. I think the Tindamax and Amphotericin are finally doing their thing--I'm having other signs that it might be a herx and maybe side effects from one or both meds (the nurse today said it can take a few days for them to get into the system).

All day yesterday my intestines were REALLY noisy...LOUD noisy, and I felt off all day.

I got home really late last night (choir practice), then couldn't get to sleep. When I finally DID fall asleep, I kept waking up, and finally woke up around 2:30 with that horrid stomach burning hunger thing...my intestines were also tender so I'm pretty sure it's the meds. I took some charcoal (which sometimes seems to help) and tried to get back to sleep, but nope...was awake from then on. Finally just got up at 4:20 or so and decided to just get ready.

THEN, the fun started! I haven't spent so much time in the bathroom since I had my prep for my colonoscopy! Egads...hard to imagine there could be anything left, lol! That bad sort of achy hunger thing is still present, only I know it isn't hunger because I've eaten. It isn't easy to eat, but I've eaten. I almost called to ask them if I should cancel the test, but decided to just go ahead with it.

I didn't mention too much about not feeling well, just that I didn't sleep and what meds I was on. I probably should have, but I'm certain it's the antibiotics/anti-fungals so didn't want to reschedule.

Felt a little weird when they first started the IV but I think that's because my blood pressure was probably around 80/60 (just a guess, but that's what it felt like), lol. I actually started to feel better about halfway through the IV bag.

So now, just me and my jug.

They gave me a mailer thingy so I can ship it back today when I'm done. I called DHL and they gave me a location that I can take it that has a 5:00 pick-up cuz the latest they can pick up at a residence is 3:15 and my little jug and I are joined until 4:15!:P

Sorry to be long winded, lol.

Kassandra,

I LOVE Vegas...my friend and I used to go about 3 times a year, but now we're down to about 1 with my stupid health issues. She's got a broken ankle at the moment, but her doctor is releasing her to go back to work next month, so we're already planning our next trip.

Sherry,

I'm actually a homebody myself, but I've been bit by the travel bug the last few years. :P

AndreaB Contributor

Donna,

Sounds like the meds are doing their thing. Glad to hear the IV went well and can't wait to hear about the results.

For you and Sherry.......I'm a homebody too. :)

Off topic.......we decided to switch homeschool curriculum and I was worried about T needing to do some 1st grade work again because different things are introduced at different times. I'm happy to say that she can start the beginning of 2nd grade. She took the diagnostic tests yesterday. :D

dlp252 Apprentice

Oh Andrea, yay for little T!!!! That's great!

I have been to Vegas a few times. It's okay...not my favorite place to go. But it's a free vacation, and that's all that matters! LOL!

Plus, it will be the last time I will go on a pool port free for a while, so that's exciting.

What's everyone's weather like? It was raining and thundering (that's right, right Carla? ) yesterday! :o It was 100 degrees 3 days ago! It's crazy!

CarlaB Enthusiast

Donna, the chelators may make you feel a little better. Early in treatment, on days I chelated I felt better. The chelators seem to mop up the metals the bugs release. It might be a good time for you to be doing the challenge because you're probably stirring up bugs/metals with the meds.

This herx is still going on strong ... started Monday .... Morgan said I seem to have a bit more energy today, but I don't really feel that way myself. I'm not as sore though, so I need to start taking the full dose of Zith tonight. I called the doc today and left a message .... my info sheet on meds said to call if zith makes your ears ring, and my ears are ringing. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but I thought I should let them know.

Andrea, yay on the homeschool news. :D

We've had a 30 degree difference since last weekend and rain now. I was really hoping to have a decent weekend, but oh well.

Carla,

Hope you hear back from the doctor soon.

confusedks Enthusiast

Carla,

When I first started on Zith, my LLMD asked if I had any ear ringing. I didn't then, but I do sometimes. I will be interested in hearing what your Dr says. It's a fairly common side effect from what I have heard.

It's cloudy and in the mid-60's. That is on the cool side for us this time of year, but our May weather can vary. It should be sunny and in the low 70's tomorrow. It's supposed to hit 83 by Monday, but they're calling for rain.

LOL, yesterday Kassandra verified with me that the stuff that makes noise in a rainstorm is called thunder!   Only someone who lives in a desert would ask that! LA = the desert with sprinkler systems. :D

Yes, I've heard it's common. I thought it was strange that my doc wanted to know about it. I also have had that as a Lyme symptom, so it could just be from herxing. My ears always rang prior to Lyme treatment ... I thought it was normal .... sounds kind of like listening into a seashell. Once I started treatment and it went away, then I realized it was a symptom and not normal, LOL. Adam thought it was strange that I would think it was normal. It always sounded like I had been to a concert.

LOL! Thunder...I think my stepmom taught me that lightning is like a light...you can see it. Thunder you don't see, you just hear it. I always forget though!

They used to have a commercial here, where they would ask little kids where milk came from and they'd say "latte's? frapaccino's?" It was a commercial for the LA Fair, it was VERY funny! Growing up in LA, we don't know those things. (I know where milk comes from though! LOL! )

Ear ringing, yea, it is weird. I get that too. I thought that was normal too! LOL!

CarlaB Enthusiast

Yeah, LA everything comes from a truck. :)

Here kids go on field trips and see this stuff for real. When we lived out in the country one of my daughter's friends were homesteaders .... they bought soap, flour, and sugar ... and a few other things. They had their own animals for milk, mainly goats.

Once at Whole Foods that daughter saw goat milk and said, "GROSS!!!" I asked when she had ever had goat's milk, and she reminded me. Of course, the stuff she had came out of a goat that morning, LOL.

If you don't mind me asking, what supplements did you try.

Many people, myself included who are Celiac/Gluten-intolerant have problems with yeast. Symptoms of boating, cramping, diarrhea, constipation, etc may be from enteric overgrowth of yeast. I find gluten-free or not

if my diet is high in carbs, breads, yeasts, sugars; my symptoms return.

Along with corn, highly suspicious is POTATO.

also avoid Dextrose [ May come from corn, potato or wheat]

There, all done. Orange jug contents shipped and now I can relax for the rest of the day.

Yesterday was downright cold! This morning was cold and overcast...we've got some wildfires in the mountains not too far from here so it's casting a pretty good haze. Today is trying to be sunny so it's a bit warmer to me than yesterday, but still a HUGE difference from last week!

Yeah, I've been on the meds for a week now, so they probably have stirred things up. I get the ringing too...mine is actually ringing. I get the sea shell thing to, but I also hear a ringing tone sort of like on a hearing test. I've had that for years.

I am interested in hearing that all of you have the ringing...(tinnitus?). I don't but my hubby does; I don't think I'd convince him to consider if he has lyme though, LOL.

It could be a symptom of metals too. I get ringing once in awhile. I don't know if occasionaly is normal or not.

Hey Donna! Do you want to come up and do some pest relocation duties? :D:P

Donna, glad you made it through to get the challenge and the little orange jug. I know you have waited a long time to get to this point!

I don't have much input on the meds other than it sure could be stirring things up, both bugs and metals. Maybe you should get some more of the pectin and use it?

Sure hope these meds work to clear out the bugs somewhat in the intestine and there is improvement for you. Sounds like a rough time. Keep us posted as we hope things don't get any worse, and soon are better.

I get ringing in my ears to, im thinking it must be from metals lol.

We had snow in lovely colorado yesterday, so you all enjoy your 70 degree weather.

Things are good here, just been enjoying time with the kids before summer activities start and we are back to having to be places at cetain times lol.

I resent my hair test in and they got it on wed, she said she would rush it, but with the 3 day holiday, im still not expecting it before next friday. Im hoping if i give it longer then it will come and surprise me sooner lol.

As of right now I am not doing any detoxing at all. No lemon water, detox baths, nothing. I did take some charcoal the other day after I ate some beans, and it kept away the gas lol.

Hello, @MogwaiStripe, Vitamin D is turned into its activated forms by Thiamine.  Thiamine deficiency can affect Vitamin D activation. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14913223/ Thiamine deficiency affects HLA genes.  HLA genes code for autoimmune diseases like Celiac, Thyroiditis, Diabetes, etc.  Thiamine deficiency inside a cell triggers a toggle switch on the gene which in turn activates autoimmune diseases carried on the gene.  The reference to the study is in my blog somewhere.  Click on my name to go to my page, scroll down to the drop down menu "Activities" and click on blogs.

Hello, @annamarie6655, Yes, there's many of us who react to airborne gluten!   Yes, animal feed, whether for chickens or cats or dogs, can release airborne gluten.  I can get glutened from the bakery section at the grocery store.   The nose and mouth drain into the digestive system and can trigger systemic reactions.   I find the histamine release in response to airborne gluten will stuff up my sinuses and bother my eyes.  High histamine levels do cause anxiety and migraines.  The muscle spasms can be caused by high histamine, too.  The digestive system may not manifest symptoms without a higher level of gluten exposure.   Our bodies make an enzyme, DAO (diamine oxidase), to break down histamine.   Pyridoxine B 6, Cobalamine B12, Vitamin C, copper, zinc, and iron are needed to make DAO.  DAO supplements are available over the counter.  Taking a B Complex supplement and additional Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine or TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) helps reduce the amount of histamine being released.  Mast cells without sufficient Thiamine have an itchy trigger finger and release histamine at the slightest provocation.  Thiamine helps mast cells refrain from releasing their histamine.    I find taking additional TTFD thiamine helps immensely with neurological symptoms as TTFD can easily cross the blood brain barrier without a carrier.  High histamine in the brain can cause the muscle spasms, anxiety and migraines.  Vitamin C really helps with clearing histamine, too.   The Digiorno pizza mystery reaction could have been caused by a reaction to the cheese.  Some people develop lactose intolerance.  Others react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as if to gluten because Casein resembles the molecular structure of gluten.  An enzyme used in some dairy products, microbial transglutaminase, causes a gluten reaction because it is the same as the tissue transglutaminase our bodies make except microbes make it.  Those tTg IgA blood tests to diagnose celiac disease measure tissue transglutaminase our bodies release as part of the autoimmune response to gluten.   You're doing great!  A Sherlock Holmes award to you for figuring out the connection between airborne gluten and animal feed!!!

I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience with the gluten challenge. My teenager completed a gluten challenge over the summer, it ended up being 10 weeks although she stopped being consistent eating gluten after 6. Her previous endoscopy was negative but this past August it was positive after the gluten challenge. If you have done the gluten challenge, how long did it take you to feel back to normal? It took about two months before she got “glutened” again but now she’s having difficult coming back from that and has a lot of fatigue. I’m hoping someone has some advice!
    • annamarie6655
Hello everyone, I was on here a few months ago trying to figure out if I was reacting to something other than gluten, to which a very helpful response was that it could be xanthin or guar gum.    Since then, I have eaten items with both of those ingredients in it and I have not reacted to it, so my mystery reaction to the Digiorno pizza remains.    HOWEVER, I realized something recently- the last time I got glutened and the most recent time I got glutened, I truly never ate anything with gluten in it. But i did breathe it in.    The first time was a feed barrel for my uncle’s chickens- all of the dust came right up, and most of what was in there was wheat/grains. The second time was after opening a pet food bag and accidentally getting a huge whiff of it.    When this happens, I tend to have more neurological symptoms- specifically involuntary muscle spasms/jerks everywhere. It also seems to cause migraines and anxiety as well. Sometimes, with more airborne exposure, I get GI symptoms, but not every time.    My doctor says he’s never heard of it being an airborne problem, but also said he isn’t well versed in celiac specifics. I don’t have the money for a personal dietician, so I’m doing the best I can.    is there anyone else who has experienced this, or gets similar neurological symptoms?
