All,

Thanks for the congrats! :)

Carla,

Thank you for the info on Dr H! I actually know how to get there! Yay! Well, at least in the general direction. I pass that exit on my way up to MA every year. Of course, knowing me, I'll keep on going until hitting Hartford and then the brain cells will kick in. :D It'll take a little less than 3 hours to get there, provided I don't pass the exit or get lost.

Susie,

I fully understand. I'm so afraid one of these days a dr will tell me to just "suck it up" and get on with my life. At least so far, nobody's thrown antidepressants at me. Its bad enough being told by two different docs that "you're getting older and these things happen". Grrrrr!

Julie,

Maybe check out those empty capsules you can get at the health food store for the pectin? I know you can buy vegetarian ones, but haven't read up on what they're really made of.

Kassandra,

Hope the dr calls you back soon! And great! Just what I need... more anxiety and confusion. At least I know ahead of time there'll be a good reason for it. :)

Paula, could the yellow feet be some sort of circulation thing? Do you usually take hot baths? I think I've had this before, just from taking a hot bath when my feet are cold <shrugs>

S x

Yes i take hot baths all the time, and i do have cold feet that is why im always in socks lol. So maybe it is, i will check my feet again tommorow when i take an bath and see if they are yellow. Cause even tho hubby says they are nto yellow when he looked, i know they were moer yellow in the tub.

Oh, I should warn you .... don't be surprised when they say he's not taking new patients but one of the PA's can see you .... that's how he works. I see him, but I also work with a PA.

Does anyone know if anesthesia is problematic for Lyme patients? I know the LLMD said that surgery can really stir things up, but I was wondering about an endo/colonoscopy? This is just my bored, Ive been in bed too long, brain kicking in....lol! :P

Hrm... dunno. While I'm not officially dx'd, I did have an endo/colonoscopy back in Sept. No problem at all with anesthesia or the prep. That kind of surprised me as I've had problems with anesthesia in the past. Grogginess would last for up to a week afterwards. Maybe they used something different for me this time?

My LLMD's PA just called in a rx for anti-nausea meds!!!! :D Yahoooooooo!! Maybe I can actually eat something without misery...lol. ;)

Donna, I tried your method of making a roux with the apple pectin this morning and it didn't work out so great for me so I'm going to have to experiment more on how to get this stuff down

I'm thinking since you added so many things, different supplements together in your roux that it helped the pectin not glob up as much, maybe?

Yeah, I tried that and it didn't work for me either! It was a big glob and then it wouldn't really dissolve at all. :o

Hey confused, quack quack. Haha just kidding. I have yellow feet too but I know I'm not a duck.

Sometimes maybe I wish I was just so I wouldn't be a human with all this toxicity.

I have so much toxic build up I think I got drainbamage. :D

I cried all day today. My moms upset and yelling, "why are we going to the doctor for if you aren't doing any better!!" she says.

I don't know. Maybe it's the pint of ice cream I eat everyday. I don't know why I feel sick. Can someone just tell me how bad this stuff is for me so I will STOP eating ice cream!

Are probiotics okay to take with fillings in your mouth?

April what is dry skin brushing and rebounding?

And yeah I scrape goo off my skin real think goo.

It smells like my chicken. Yes it's organic veg-feed chicken.

NEED TO STOP ICE CREAM :(

Can eating ice cream make the detox stuff not work. I only eat it for weight gain and it makes me go to the bathroom regularly everyday oh and the yeast likes it.

DAMN YEAST!

Oh well time is almost up at the library. April PM me with more detox material

Thank you

Lisa,

I know for a fact that ice cream is REALLY bad for you! If you want a website check this Open Original Shared Linkout. It tells you all about dairy and what it does to your body.

As far as your mom, it's really difficult because it probably doesn't look like you're getting better. I know my mom is having a hard time thinking and believing it's Lyme, even though the LLMD dx'd me. Also, Lyme patients can get worse before better...or you could be herxing or it could be the ice cream.

I am sorry you had a rough day...that's no fun at all. :( If you ever want to "chat" you can PM me. :)

I don't know. Maybe it's the pint of ice cream I eat everyday.

If you have any villi damage, that affects your ability to produce lactase (which is what helps to digest the lactose in milk products).

Are you okay with coconut? Sharon's Sorbet makes a fantastic coconut sorbet--but it IS very high in sugar, so if candida is a possibility for you, it wouldn't be a good thing for you to eat...

dlp252 Apprentice

Sorry the roux didn't work for you girls, lol. Try adding a touch more water....mine sometimes go into a big blob, and I add a little more water, stir, then a little more, then stir. If that doesn't work, then I just don't know, lol.

Well girls, I may now be joining the ranks of the C girls, lol. I guess the Humaworm killed off whatever bug it was that has been causing the D for the past few years...either that or the charcoal is doing it. Don't know...maybe I should try stopping the charcoal for a while just to see. I won't stop it permanently but if it's that then I need to figure out a way to counteract it without having to resort to ECOFFEE!! Hold me I'm afraid!

CarlaB Enthusiast

Donna, I'd stop the charcoal for a few days and see. Ecoffee isn't meant to substitute for properly moving bowels. :) You're supposed to try to do it after a bowel movement.

Kassandra, I'm glad you got some anti-nausea meds .... are you feeling better and able to eat?

Lisa, you need to stop eating ice cream!! :)

mftnchn Explorer

Donna, congrats on the improvement with the D! Maybe the C will even out. Can you increase vit C? The buffered C powder I take that has magnesium in it really works, I am actually back up to 3 scoops a day this last month. Not sure why the C got worse again.

Hi to you all, I'll post more in a couple of days when things slow down a bit.

Sherry

dlp252 Apprentice

Sherry,

Yes, I think I can increase my Vit C and that might work. I'm only taking 1/2 a tsp every day (that's only 2,500 mg), so I can increase more. I have been taking one magnesium capsule per day, but that's not enough--I think it's only 133 mg and my doctor wants me to take 500 mg per day. Yesterday evening I took another kind too...it's a liquid form, and I think that works better for me. We'll see.

I can also massage the area. I lay face down on a fitness ball and kind of slightly roll back and forth. Besides streching out my lower back (which makes my chiropractor and physical therapist happy) it also massages the abdominal area, which sometimes helps in the bathroom area, lol. I haven't been doing this regularly, so need to start up again.

Beyond that, I'm at a loss, lol...it's been so long since I've had to think about this that I can't think of anything, lol.

Hi everyone. I've been away for a bit -- very busy with the new house !

I'm very, very sad to say that I saw a significant improvement in my digestion one the three-day period where I didn't have cooked white rice (because we were out of it, not for any health reason). So I've decided to also try to limit that.

My question is, is it healthy to have such limited starch intake?

Right now I eat:

Two rice cakes with peanut butter and honey for breakfast

Fruit for snack

Meat with cooked vegetables for lunch, usually another piece of fruit

Pistachios for snack

Meat with cooked vegetables for dinner

Sometimes a cooked piece of fruit for an after-dinner snack

Hubby says I don't eat anything any more, but I'm not hungry and doing very well on this diet. I'm overweight, so no worries there. I just hope the diet's healthy, other than needing to supplement with at least calcium. I just have to go to GNC yet to get GFCFSF calcium tablets.

I also want to get probiotics, but not sure where to get GFCFSF versions that don't cost a fortune.

Looks good to me ... unless you're sensitive to mold ... the daily pistachios and peanut butter would make me fatigued.

Don't forget that fruit and veggies have carbs.

I guess that's a good thing and a not so good thing. Hope the extra c or magnesium will do the trick.

We use PB8 by Nutrition Now. It's reasonable.

I guess it's good you don't have D, but that sucks you have C! LOL! This is the problem I have, I get really bad C, then I get awful D. There's not middle ground. I am actually going to try what you suggested about the ball. Sounds like a good idea.

No Artificial Color, No Artificial Flavors, No Preservatives, No Gluten, No Salt, No Wheat, No Soy

Did you verify no dairy? I'm guessing from this list that there is casein and/or in it ... :(

No I didn't. We are dairy free but haven't had a problem with this.....not that we had obvious problems to begin with, aside from stomach/digetive.

We were muscle tested for it.

confusedks Enthusiast

Offthegrid,

I am taking a probiotic that is dairy free, but when you read the label it says that it contains dairy and soy! I was totally freaked out because I am so ultra sensitive to anything with either of those ingredients. I have been on it for a couple weeks now and I have no problem whatsoever! A lot of probiotics will have traces of dairy in them.

Yes, and I think the reason (at least I've read this before) why so many have traces of dairy is because the probiotics need some kind of sugar or starch to live. I THINK that's why sometimes you'll see rice or potato starch and/or diary.

Thank you. They said I'm gonna be kicked out but I have to find somewhere else to live anyway.

Yes, IMO, you need to quit and look for another job. You can't put a price on your health. It's unfortunate that your parents don't understand but they don't have to live with the ravages of unattended celiac disease. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do and just be willing to live with the fact that some people will not understand. I don't know your age but that's being an adult and taking ownership of your life.
    • Alibu
Oh I definitely am doing that!  I'm having a "last hurrah" leading up to the endoscopy and I am making sure to eat as much gluten as I can now.  I will say I am BLOATED but I've been this way for so many years, it's kind of my norm.  Just a couple more weeks until I have answers though, I hope!

Just got a new job working at a grocery chain, never worked grocery before. Mon (19th) and Thur (22nd) started feeling flu-like, realized I had probably been glutened at work but not sure how, didn't eat it! Found out I probably breathed in loads of it while handling bread and flour products stocking shelves on those 2 dates. I am in pain, but I don't have a back-up plan and I can't keep damaging my body. I tried to ask for a reasonable accom. but the manager says it would be an undue burden because i have to avoid two aisles. I am sad because i liked this job to start but now I'm really going through it. Today I didn't stock bakery or baking aisle and I was just starting to come out of it, now the symptoms are starting up again. I live w my parents and they don't understand or care to understand. I will be unemployed while I search for something new, but I am damaging my body in this current job and they can't switch me anywhere because I'm part time and a new hire. Should I trust my intuition and quit, and then apply for jobs outside of my home so my parents believe I am still going to work (until I finally find a job that doesn't handle gluten)?

It’s great that you’ve scheduled a doctor’s appointment to address your symptoms, especially given your family history of autoimmune diseases, including celiac disease. Your symptoms—such as stomach pain, chronic diarrhea, nausea after gluten consumption, joint pain, and headaches—do align with common signs of celiac disease, so it’s definitely worth discussing with your doctor. To help your doctor understand your concerns clearly, consider writing down a detailed list of your symptoms, including when they started, how often they occur, and any patterns you’ve noticed (like symptoms worsening after eating gluten). Mentioning your family history of autoimmune conditions will also be helpful, as celiac disease has a genetic component. You might also ask about getting tested for celiac disease, which typically involves blood tests and possibly an endoscopy. Avoid cutting gluten out of your diet before testing, as this can affect the accuracy of the results. Hopefully, your doctor can provide clarity and guide you toward the right next steps—hang in there, and good luck with your appointment!
