Happy Belated Birthday Rachel!!

Kassandra, your visit with the other lymie sounds exciting! :)

I was just thinking about how I am feeling better the last few days. Im wondering if it has to do with I am drinking penta water (isnt that one u recommended rachel). I drink one every morning and it seems to give me energy the rest of the day. Of course the mold from the porch being gone is helping lol. I have also been spening lots of time outside and Im sure that is helping to.

I have ordered from www.vitalchoice.com. Mercola recommends this company for fresh metal free fish. In fact I plan to make an order soon!

April, I must have missed this yesterday. Thank you for this info, I'm going to look into it now!

Happy B-day Rachel here too!!!! Patti started a thread down in gab as well, so happy birthdays all around

Paula, that bites about your test results :( You have had a long drawn out frustrating time with this hair analysis, I hope you hear back from them soon :)

I know, their soon usually isn't our soon. I hope it turns out to be your soon.

I'm glad you've been able to get out more. That is probably helping, along with the porch.

Happy Birthday, Rachel!!!

I thought he wasn't leaving until next week?

Thanks Carla. :)

Yeah....not leaving for Germany until Wed. but is in Hawaii right now for a graduation.

I actually got teary eyed a few minutes ago!! :o

No actual tears came out but they were there...I felt them. :P

I just got sent a really cute pic from Hawaii....and birthday wishes. So far my B-day has been really nice. :)

Funny .... this is what I was having fixed with all the ortho work I had -- splint, braces.

I forgot that I had another risk factor on that list....constipation. <_<

Happy Belated Birthday Rachel!!

Did my birthday come and go already!!?

:lol: Donna, its still my birthday...and we are in the same time zone so it'll still be my birthday for another 12 hours or so. :P

I was just thinking about how I am feeling better the last few days. Im wondering if it has to do with I am drinking penta water (isnt that one u recommended rachel).

I felt better when I switched to Penta....since then I dont drink anything else. I dont even want to go anywhere without my Penta water! I'm gonna get a Dr.'s note so that I can bring it into places which wouldnt normally allow it. Its so pure that its now considered "antioxidant".

My old boss made sure we had Penta at work so I'd always be able to get some if I needed it. I freaked out on my new boss cuz all of a sudden the Penta disappeared from the shelf :o (we dont normally carry it)....he said he would "fix" it....so now we have Penta again. :D

Thanks everone for the Birthday wishes!!!:wub:

Oh....heres my word of advice for the day.

Never fall for someone who's moving to another country!! :(

and yes...I knew all this but I'm blaming it on all the toxicity...I wasnt able to think clearly....or make smart decisions.

I won't even fall for someone who's moving to another state.. <_< Or even someone who lives more than 2 or 3 hours away.

I was in love and living with someone for 5 years and they moved back to Indonesia after telling me mom and dad wanted him back home. :(

I was with someone else for 6 years then I got sick and I moved back home to Kingsburg Ca. and they moved back to Washington.

Awww...Lisa...I'm sorry. Sheeesh...love can really suck sometimes! :(

I've never had someone I was in a relationship with move away. I think it would be really hard. Its sad for me that my friend is leaving now but its not the same as ending a relationship. I dont know how I would deal with that.

Even though my hearts been broken I havent given up on love! Not yet anyway. <_<

When I start saying I wont let myself fall for anyone within 5 feet of me...then you'll know I've had enough!

You bet I can. One of the fruits of the spirit, self control. :P Yeah I know if it were only that easy.

Hey yesterday I went to this ladie Mary's house. She actually sells her chicken at most Whole Foods Markets. She sells organic chicken. She actually gave me some chicken yesterday. It's air chilled chicken but I don't eat chicken anymore but accepted it anyway.

She has been dealing with heavy metal toxicity for 30 years now!! :o That's why her chix are organic. She couldn't eat anything else. They didn't use to be organic before. I think the name of her company is Mary's Chicken. She also sells ducks and turkeys.

I started talking to her and asked her what type of binders she is using for the toxins and metals. She wasn't using any. She didn't even know about binders.

So I went over and sold her a bottle of waiora zeolite. I know this will make her feel better. She just got 8 fillings removed by a great dentist in Fresno and she says she feels ssooo much better.

I was going to post a 24/7 conference call for anyone interested in listening. There is a Dr. that talks about fillings and what mercury can do to the body. We know most of the stuff by this thread but it still is good to hear.

Rachel.

Im glad your store carries it. We cant get it here. I really hate the store here. I have to get it city market, this week it is 10 for 10, but they only had 3 yesterday. i am going to go back every day and get as many as i can lol.

My porch is done, it is so pretty, but now i have new projects i want to start outside lmao. It is so nice to feel good to want to start projects. My hubby was saying omg you are already getting dark. Last year you were white the whole summer. But then he was like well you never came outside last year unless u had to or i bribed you. he is like if you are doing this good this year, next year you should be close to normal lol.

I have noticed I am doing so much beter. Last night my kids had t-ball and last year i would either sit in my car or sit all by myself. Last night i kept making conversations with the other parents. Im slowly becoming the social person I once was.

The place i sent my hair to called today while i was out. Hubby thought they wanted to confirm my cc number. But they wanted to confirm it was hair from down under. So I guess they are making some sort of progress.

Yeah, but sometimes you just can't help yourself.

Yup....you cant help it...it just comes when you're not even expecting it.

But actually for me thats the BEST feeling. I dont ever look for love because I dont find it that way...and I'm soooo picky. I have to feel butterflies and all that mushy stuff or forget it. If I dont feel it I dont really wait to see if those feelings will "develop".

They're either there or they're not.

I totally love the feeling of butterflies and just being so excited and happy to see someone. It doesnt come around all that often for me.

Usually people move really fast and I end up in a relationship faster then I want....and then comes jealousy and all these other issues because everything moves too fast! I dont get to enjoy the feeling because love has always been surrounded by drama. I've always said that I just want a "simple" love...an unconditional love....and especially TRUST.

So yeah...I havent been in any relationship but all of these really nice things just came to me out of nowhere. :)

So now the bar has been raised even higher. Anyone who comes along is gonna have to measure up to my friend who's moving away....and no drama is allowed! Leave your psycho-ness at the door or you cant come in!:lol:

Yes I love the butterfly feeling!! That hasn't happened for awhile. Yes I also feel that jumping into a relationship is not good. All of my relationships were like that and there was a lot of jeoulousy and no trust. I want to really know someone and court for awhile.

I have been in a crying mood today. I feel like Jude Law from the holiday.... :( I'm not depressed just......... I don't know something.

Ok since we talking about love. I fall in love with my husband when i least expected to. I was dating my professor while in college and I went home for the weekend. I was out with my parents and my good friend showed up with her cousin. We talked a little bit, then we all went to the bar from the place we were at. I wasnt expecting to fall in love at all and especially not with him. I have known him since i was in k and he was in 6th grade. But we just compltely clicked and fell in love. He actually dated my best friend in high school and i use to snub him all the time. He always tells me I thought my sh.. didnt stink back then and i would treat him bad lol. It will be 11 years together in a coule of weeks and 9 years married on thursday. He is not only my husband but my best friend. I really dont think all the jerks i dated before him would have stood by me with everything with my health. Heck i dont think i would of if i was a man lol

I still get butterflies when he walks in from work and we still hold hands and act like newlyweds. I could never picture my life without him.

Everyone,

I may be getting surgery on my toe. I saw the doctor today, and there isn't much else they can do for it, and it WILL get worse over time. It's already starting to affect my life and limit my activity, so I can't imagine WORSE. I don't know, I'll think about it some more, but he's getting the pre-authorization from my insurance company and that's good for 3 months. I'm not obligated to have the surgery, but that part of it will be done if I go ahead. I see Dr. S next week, so I'll talk to him about it too...I know lots of people on LN have toe pain, but I'm not sure how many have a bunion with that and to what extent Lyme and my gaining weight have to do with the amount of pain I have.

Bunions are sort of hereditary, I got mine from my MOTHER!!! Anyway, the surgery sounds pretty scarey, but they do a lot of them, and I have a friend who just had it done and she is SOOOO much better than before. Still, there are sometimes complications, so I have to think about it pretty thoroughly.

Well, when it's like Rachel is saying, you are friends and you feel butterflies, it's not a matter of a lack of self control. I've never had self control issues .... that's why showing self control around here is called Carla-ing .... not that that word ever has a use around here.

Totally agree. I always knew within a short time (minutes?) whether I would even go out on a date with someone. There's something about good chemistry.

Paula, we still act like that too .....23 years of marriage.

I know you have a lot to think over carefully, hope talking to your Dr next week will help with your decision.

You're in my thoughts.

I wanted to respond to your post as much for other people who read this later on (I'm not trying to contradict your experience or decisions) > Kirkland Signature Super Extra-Large Peanuts, 2.5 lbs, are labeled "gluten free" in the Calif Costcos I've been in. If they are selling non-gluten-free in your store, I suggest talking to customer service to see if they can get you the gluten-free version (they are tasty) > This past week I bought "Sliced Raw Almonds, Baking Nuts, 5 lbs Item 1495072 Best if used by Jun-10-26 W-261-6-L1A 12:47" at Costco. The package has the standard warning that it was made on machinery that <may> have processed wheat. Based on that alone, I would not eat these. However, I contacted customer service and asked them "are Costco's Sliced Almonds gluten free?" Within a day I got this response:  "This is [xyz] with the Costco Member Service Resolutions Team. I am happy to let you know we got a reply back from our Kirkland Signature team. Here is their response:  This item does not have a risk of cross contamination with gluten, barley or rye." Based on this, I will eat them. Based on experience, I believe they will be fine. Sometimes, for other products, the answer has been "they really do have cross-contamination risk" (eg, Kirkland Signature Dry Roasted Macadamia Nuts, Salted, 1.5 lbs Item 1195303). When they give me that answer I return them for cash. You might reasonably ask, "Why would Costco use that label if they actually are safe?" I can't speak for Costco but I've worked in Corporate America and I've seen this kind of thing first hand and up close. (1) This kind of regulatory label represents risk/cost to the company. What if they are mistaken? In one direction, the cost is loss of maybe 1% of sales (if celiacs don't buy when they would have). In the other direction, the risk is reputational damage and open-ended litigation (bad reviews and celiacs suing them). Expect them to play it safe. (2) There is a team tasked with getting each product out to market quickly and cheaply, and there is also a committee tasked with reviewing the packaging before it is released. If the team chooses the simplest, safest, pre-approved label, this becomes a quick check box. On the other hand, if they choose something else, it has to be carefully scrutinized through a long process. It's more efficient for the team to say there <could> be risk. (3) There is probably some plug and play in production. Some lots of the very same product could be made in a safe facility while others are made in an unsafe facility. Uniform packaging (saying there is risk) for all packages regardless of gluten risk is easier, cheaper, and safer (for Costco). Everything I wrote here is about my Costco experience, but the principles will be true at other vendors, particularly if they have extensive quality control infrastructure. The first hurdle of gluten-free diet is to remove/replace all the labeled gluten ingredients. The second, more difficult hurdle is to remove/replace all the hidden gluten. Each of us have to assess gray zones and make judgement calls knowing there is a penalty for being wrong. One penalty would be getting glutened but the other penalty could be eating an unnecessarily boring or malnourishing diet.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply and links, Wheatwacked. Definitely some food for thought. However, I would point out that your linked articles refer to gliadin in human breast milk, not cow's milk. And although it might seem reasonable to conclude it would work the same way in cows, that is not necessarily the case. Studies seem to indicate otherwise. Studies also indicate the amount of gliadin in human breast milk is miniscule and unlikely to cause reactions:  https://www.glutenfreewatchdog.org/news/gluten-peptides-in-human-breast-milk-implications-for-cows-milk/ I would also point out that Dr. Peter Osborne's doctorate is in chiropractic medicine, though he also has studied and, I believe, holds some sort of certifications in nutritional science. To put it plainly, he is considered by many qualified medical and nutritional professionals to be on the fringe of quackery. But he has a dedicated and rabid following, nonetheless.
    • Scott Adams
I'd be very cautious about accepting these claims without robust evidence. The hypothesis requires a chain of biologically unlikely events: Gluten/gliadin survives the cow's rumen and entire digestive system intact. It is then absorbed whole into the cow's bloodstream. It bypasses the cow's immune system and liver. It is then secreted, still intact and immunogenic, into the milk. The cow's digestive system is designed to break down proteins, not transfer them whole into milk. This is not a recognized pathway in veterinary science. The provided backup shifts from cow's milk to human breastmilk, which is a classic bait-and-switch. While the transfer of food proteins in human breastmilk is a valid area of study, it doesn't validate the initial claim about commercial dairy. The use of a Dr. Osborne video is a major red flag. His entire platform is based on the idea that all grains are toxic, a view that far exceeds the established science on Celiac Disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and a YouTube video from a known ideological source is not that evidence."
    • Wheatwacked
Some backup to my statement about gluten and milk. Some background.  When my son was born in 1976 he was colicky from the beginning.  When he transitioned to formula it got really bad.  That's when we found the only pediactric gastroenterologist (in a population of 6 million that dealt with Celiac Disease (and he only had 14 patients with celiac disease), who dianosed by biopsy and started him on Nutramegen.  Recovery was quick. The portion of gluten that passes through to breastmilk is called gliadin. It is the component of gluten that causes celiac disease or gluten intolerance. What are the Effects of Gluten in Breastmilk? Gliaden, a component of gluten which is typically responsible for the intestinal reaction of gluten, DOES pass through breast milk.  This is because gliaden (as one of many food proteins) passes through the lining of your small intestine into your blood. Can gluten transmit through breast milk?
    • trents
I don't know of a connection. Lots of people who don't have celiac disease/gluten issues get shingles.
