:ph34r: Donna!

:lol::lol::lol:

Was hoping no one noticed that, lol. :lol:

Hmmm....I'm thinking the cows doing their business on or around our nice fresh rachelville grown veggies is not a good thing. <_<

I hereby object to cows pooping in the vegetable garden! I OBJECT!! (In case you didnt hear me) :D

:lol: The President has spoken!

Then maybe after their poop is composted, we need a poop hauler to take it over and fertilize the garden, the poop won't be smelly at that point. Might be an appropriate job for the town idiot! :lol:

:lol::lol::lol:

Sometimes I go back through recent pages in case I missed something. When this thread is hopping, I am more certain to do that....and when it's slow, I generally don't miss anything. :) You just need to hope it's a day I don't feel like posting. :lol: (which does happen believe it or not). :P

dlp252 Apprentice
Kind of a punishment for going back into the pages of the OMG thread.... :P

Yes this should be a decree...anyone who goes back should incur punishment, lol. (Okay, maybe only TheDave!) :lol:

I'd like to bring something to everyone's attention--I have done a successful multiple quote post for the first time ever! I'm pretty proud B):lol:

OMGosh...is it true? :lol:

Doesn't poop hauler = attorney :lol::lol::lol:

I think I'd better keep quiet on this one...there IS one attorney (very nice I might add) in my office who has gluten intolerance, lol. :lol:

By-the-way, great picture!

:lol: OMGosh...I didn't even think of that...I was going to start guessing. :lol:

Too funny, Donna do you work at an attorney's office?

Yes, I am the one in the middle. I only put the pic up because it is the only jpg I could find. That picture was from last year, Army 98 Fordham 0. The two guys are my touch judges, I was the referee for the match.

Yes, I do...I don't say too much about work here because I am one of 5 people in this office who are gluten intolerant or Celiac, lol. ;)

wow, that is amazing. I am the only one in my office. One of our assistants has Crohns but I believe I am the only one with celiac disease or possible celiac disease.

does everyone get the new name?

Hi Susan!

Nice to see you :)

That's the thing about company--you have to clean before they arrive, and then again after they leave!!! :lol:

This morning I was literally on my hands and knees cleaning up grease spots all over my kitchen floor. :angry: The funny thing is, they weren't there when I went to bed :blink: Had to have something to do with my son's work boots.....

So does anyone have it as bad as I do as far as this site goes? It is minimized on my computer at work all day. I hate to miss out for too long because then I have so much to read to catch up. Ha!

oh yeah, i got home from working at frosh orientation and i had like 112 emails from celiac.com, which is many more than i usually get, cause i get notification of a new reply to this topic cause i can't get THAT far behind, or i will never catch up.

swittenauer Enthusiast

I think I spent the first 1/2 hour at work today just reading to catch up on here.

I hear you. I just hope that I don't get pages behind when I really have to do something. It usually takes me 1/2 hour to an hour to catch up in the morning and I try to be on consistently at night after the kids are in bed....by then it's usually calmed down.

I'm glad you enjoy it bc it probably won't stop since we're both lazy. Plus, I'll be going to college soon.

Girls, and our few men, and dingos,

My phone lines went down today so no internet. I was in panic mode, what am I gonna miss on the board :blink::blink:

I have a lot of reading to do to catch up.

Shel Silverstein- I have a collection of his books, he was my favorite growing up- I think I have all of them.

Grease- LOVE IT, I love Grease 2 also, with Michelle Pfiefer (sp?). I watched that over and over and over again when I was 10 or 11, around there. The three questionable songs, not for young ears, "Reproduction" , "Do it For Our Country" and "Gonna Score Tonight", me and my friends would sing them at the top of our lungs, knew every word but didn't know exactly what it meant :lol:

Picard- great picture!!! You are a soccer coach too, right? I thought that is what you said and it looks like you are wearing some kind of sports uniform in the picture...

Susan- I am available to dingosit the bored staring dogs for you :lol:

Back to reading....

Forgot to say, I love everyone's new pictures,

OMG julie!!

I LOVE Grease 2!! I think I saw if first before I ever saw Grease....I loved it...have seen it too many times to count. I probably know it by heart. Because I saw it first, I never really liked the original Grease half as much. Nobody else gets this!! Everyone looks at me like I'm off my rocker cuz I like the one with Michelle Pfiefer better.....sue me! :rolleyes:

The songs you named arent my favs though...I liked "I'll be Your Girl For All Seasons", "Cool Rider" and the one at the end...when they're at the luau....cant think of it right now.

Julie,

I was wondering where you were today.....wasn't worried......yet. :)

I saw Grease in the theater and both Olivia Newton John and John Travolta were wildly popular. They played the songs on the radio, too. It was big summer hit ... I was in high school.

I saw Grease 2 a couple years ago, but I don't remember it. I remember liking it better than I thought I would, but I don't really even remember it being in the theaters.

Okay, showing my age here ... I'll have to rent the second one again. I can see how you could like the second one better if the first was in the theaters before you were old enough to see it there.

      Did the GI doc give you any rational for stopping the Tylenol during the gluten challenge? I have never heard of this before and I can't imagine a good reason for it. Ibuprofen, maybe, because it is an anti inflammatory but acetaminophen?  I don't see that it would have any impact on the test results to take Tylenol.

      Good day! New members here and I have a question about medication. My gastroenterologist made me stop some medication during the gluten challenge beforenthe screening test but I have a little surgery tomorrow and I need to know if I can use tylenol for half a day or if it will give me false results using it.   Thanks

      I agree, there can be contamination at many points--milling is another possible source of contamination for any flours.

      Keep in mind that with manufactured food products, "gluten free" doesn't equate to no gluten. Things that are naturally gluten free can be cross-contaminated with gluten in the field, in shipping and in processing. In the U.S. companies can use the gluten free label as long as the product doesn't exceed 20ppm of gluten. That amount still may cause a reaction in some people.

      Dd10 was tested for celiac four years ago bc two siblings were dx’d (positive labs and biopsies). Her results at the time were positive ema  and ttg (7x the UL), but a negative biopsy. We checked again three months later and her ttg was still positive (4x the UL), but ema and biopsy were negative. Doc said it was “potential celiac” and to keep eating gluten, but we were concerned about harming her growth and development while young and had her go gluten-free because we felt the labs and ema in particular were very suggestive of early celiac, despite the negative biopsies. She also had stomach aches and lethargy when eating it. We just felt it’d be better to be safe than sorry. Now, four years later, she doesn’t want to be gluten-free if she doesn’t “have to be,” so underwent a 12 week gluten challenge. She had labs done before starting and all looked great (celiac panel all negative, as expected.) Surprisingly, she experienced no noticeable symptoms when she began eating gluten again, which we felt was a positive sign. However, 12 weeks in, her labs are positive again (ttg 4x the UL and ema positive again as well). Doc says that since she feels fine and her previous two biopsies showed nothing, she can just keep eating gluten and we could maybe biopsy again in two years. I was looking up the ema test and the probability of having not just one but two false positives, and it seems ridiculously low.  Any advice? Would you biopsy again? She’s old enough at this point that I really feel I need her buy-in to keep her gluten-free, and she feels that if the doc says it’s fine, then that’s the final word — which makes me inclined to biopsy again and hope that it actually shows damage this time (not because I want her to have celiac like her sisters, but because I kind of think she already does have it, and seeing the damage now would save her more severe damage in the long run that would come from just continuing to eat gluten for a few more years before testing again.)  Our doc is great - we really like him. But we are very confused and want to protect her. One of her older sibs stopped growing and has lots of teeth problems and all that jazz from not catching the celiac disease sooner, and we don’t want to get to that point with the younger sis. fwiw- she doesn’t mind the biopsy at all. It’s at a children’s hospital and she thinks it’s kind of fun. So it’s not like that would stress her out or anything.
