I'm glad you enjoy it bc it probably won't stop since we're both lazy. Plus, I'll be going to college soon.

Both lazy? You're lazy, I'm sick!! Before I got sick, I was hardly lazy!! :)

I LOVE Grease 2!! I think I saw if first before I ever saw Grease....I loved it...have seen it too many times to count. I probably know it by heart. Because I saw it first, I never really liked the original Grease half as much. Nobody else gets this!! Everyone looks at me like I'm off my rocker cuz I like the one with Michelle Pfiefer better.....sue me!

The songs you named arent my favs though...I liked "I'll be Your Girl For All Seasons", "Cool Rider" and the one at the end...when they're at the luau....cant think of it right now.

Oh Rachel, this makes me absolutely giddy!!!

I sort of downplayed my love for Grease 2 because I thought I would sound like a nerd or something  . But I LOVE LOVE LOVE Grease 2. It was the same for me, I saw Grease 2 before I saw the original Grease so I didn't have it to compare it to.

I had a major crush on the lead actor, Maxwell Caulfield.

I love the songs Back To School Again, Score Tonight, Cool Rider, Girl For All Season's, Turn Back The Hands of Time, We'll Be Together, Rock-A-Hula-Luau (the song at the luau)

Yes go rent it Carla, and join in on the love for Grease 2

Have a great time you guys at grandmas :)

Thanks Andrea, for wondering where I was :D

AndreaB Contributor

For you grease 2 fans, I always liked the original better. I saw the original first and many, many times. I thought grease 2 was good but was disappointed it didn't have anything to do with the first grease.

Andrea, I think, like Carla pointed out, if you saw the original Grease first you were probably disappointed with Grease 2. For those of us who saw Grease 2 first, we didn't have the original to compare it to, and for us it was a more modern/updated version of our time that we could relate to. Imo anyway.

Grease 2 took place a decade later, same school, same groups (Pink Ladies, Greasers) just different faces. Plus Frenchie was still there, and her cousin was Michael, the foreign exchange student, aka "Cool Rider"

**edit, actually maybe it was the same decade, just a different senior class.

Soooo cool that you love this movie too! :D

Turn Back the Hands of Time...I cant believe I forgot that one! Thats my second fav.....after Girl For All Seasons.

The song I was referring to was We'll Be Together.....not the Rock a Hula Luau....I dont really care for that song. Wasnt We'll Be Together near the end...I thought it was at the luau....maybe not.

I wanna see it now....its been a long time. :P

Today was the most pittiful time I've conversed with you over the computer and I was sick. And also, in a certain way, I'm not lazy. I do a lot of work....I'm just a little tired when it comes to talking :) So I pick and choose what I want to say out loud.

I've never seen Grease 2, I only saw Grease and I LOVED it :D I also have the soundtrack :)

Yes, de ja vu

Don't get me wrong, I like the original Grease, but I just have a special place in my heart for Grease 2. Michael was so dreamy.

I guess everyone is really partial to their favorite version!

Yeah, Rachel "We'll Be Together" was at the end, after Michael reveals himself at the luau, when magically it is nighttime in a blink of an eye

I actually just watched it last month with my nieces, they played Grease and Grease 2 back to back on the Family Channel :D

Wait, we talked about Grease on Saturday night? I must have missed that.....

I am always one step behind

.....or two

I saw Grease on Broadway when it was first out in 1970's. The movie diverted from the original play in a lot of ways and for me the movie was not the "real thing." Grease 2 just underscored how Hollywood can take a good idea an ruin it with additional parts.

The Broadway show had the "Sandra Dee" song but also made other references to being naughty as a teenager in the 1950's. The movie only alludes to this but the play was "out there." (I am not advocating being naughty as a teenager, just reporting how Broadway had more flexibility as there are really no censors like movies (have/had).

One of my favorities, off Broadway and it's gone now after like 30 some odd years was The "Fantastiks".

I did see a Bob Fosse thing that I absolutely hated and couldn't wait until it was through but I don't remember the name of it, it wasn't Chicago. I would have left in the middle of it but I was with some relatives who were from out of town and felt it would have confused them to leave them in theatre alone.

Oh, I love Grease! My daughter loves it too & I guess it is okay that she watches it because at her age she has no idea about the real meaning about some of the songs & what they are saying. I took her to see a play of Grease & she had a blast. I went with my mom, grandma, daughter, aunt & great aunt. Kind of a girls thing & we all loved it.

I'm a huuuuuuge Grease fan! Yeah, the dirtiest part in Greas the movie that alluded to the dirtier play, was when John Travolta ran around with saran wrap...it was a larger part of the song in the play. I won't say what the saran wrap is for, but it ain't playing safe!

I won't watch Grease 2 on principle, just like I won't watch any Bring it On sequels...it ruins the first one. Actually, any movie/show that tries to come back with a different cast is just bad news

OH

I went back to the hair lady yesterday...she tried to put another color over it to even it out (my natural color, actually) and it looks worse. So I have to go get it stripped today, and then wait 24 hours to color it again  DH's grandparents are coming into town tomorrow, too. Not good.

Dave,

Why you always sneaking around at night?

Chelsea,

Sorry about your hair.....that sounds like a nightmare.

Julie,

Your hair is beautiful, why would you need to highlight it. Chelsea's was beautiful at her wedding too....I guess I'll never understand why people want to mess with hair that is already beautiful.

Donna,

How's the chocolate (I'm so said I need to refrain) withdrawal going?

I'm currently watching the Price is Right.

It has inspired me. Rachelville needs a field trip. I think we should go to the Price is Right.

Everybody buys/makes a celiac t-shirt. Wear them to the show. We create awareness. We have a blast.

Maybe somebody would even get on and bob would ask what celiac is??

I'm feeling a little verclempt.......here's a topic......rachelville on the price is right.......ok discuss.....

-Jessica

jayhawkmom Enthusiast

Ok... I'll arrange that. LOL!

But seriously... The Price is Right is better than Lazytown...which is what I'm watching.

Great advice from @trents.  A couple of other tips. Firstly, always try to have a good stock of gluten-free alternatives in the house so you aren't tempted to give in when there is nothing else available. Secondly,  as you will have noticed, gluten-free bread does taste quite different from regular bread.  But I think it was my GP who said making toast with it makes it taste much more like the usual stuff - and I would agree there. If you haven't already I suggest you give it a try. But remember, you will either need to toast it under a clean grill, or your Mom will need to buy you your own dedicated gluten-free toaster.

Welcome to the forum, @Crossaint! Are you living in the same home with your mother? Your experience with the cravings is very common in the celiac community, especially among the recently diagnosed. It might surprise you to hear this but gluten has addictive qualities much like opiates. It plugs into the same pleasure sensors as gluten in the brain and so for some people, there can be a significant withdrawal experience. It usually begins to subside in a matter of weeks but is perpetuated with inconsistency.  I think three major things need to happen for your to get on top of this: 1. You need to understand that more is at stake here than the number of bathroom trips you make if you...

Was recently diagnosed with Celiac after almost 16 years of suffering. The first week gluten free was amazing, my brain was working, i wasnt as bloated, i even started to not have to use the toilet 12 times in an hour. Excellent! But i keep having uncontrollable cravings for gluten. My mom is an amazing baker, woth no sympathy for my weakness and live for food, so of cohrse i ended up eating a bunch of gluten today. i dont know how to stop, i know its poison but at the end of the day i just feel like i need it. Will be re attempting gluten free tomorrow, but im scared that i wont be able to stop myself from eating the deliciously poisonous devil that gluten is. 😞

I wanted to say hello, and add that  early in eating gluten free I had  to avoid processed foods due to too many ingredients. I also had additional intolerances that needed time to subside. My team suggested I limit gluten free processed foods, as I was having issues with items with too many ingredients. I see Trents explained some of the culprits when he responded.  I found it helpful to go whole foods  diet. When I need inspiration I found Paleo and AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) recipes helpful to offer variety to my palate.  Often our bodies in the early stages prefer we go whole foods/ minimal processed foods. In turn, I realized I prefer freshly made salad dressing which I still make to...

As @trents stated the pancreas does not produce lactase enzyme.  Most humans lose the ability to create enough lactase.  Some say milk is only for babies. But, by eating brined fermented foods like dill pickles and sourkraut, the Lactobacillus from these foods set up colonies in your gut and excrete lactase so we can eat dairy.  Most pickles sold in supermarkets are quick pickled, the vinegar gives them the texture and taste, but not the nutritional benefits.  Vinegar's acidity can inhibit or even kill Lactobacillus strains.  They need to be salt fermented.  And antibiotics kill them along with their prescribed target.  I used to make my own.  It takes about 10 days, depending on the...
