Why yes! I believe those TV programMEs entitled ''When weather goes bad'' (and such like) are always clips from America

...Oh, Don't get Tom started...

Only in America..........

hmmm, no science.....

My goal for the coming current year is to learn biostatistics. Can I impose that?

Gaaaahhh! Negative! Thou dassent!! Or doth not!! Or dwillent!!

Biographies, absolutely.

Biopedal creatures, most welcoming.

Bioethics, worthy of much discussion here.

Biofeedback, we can all learn and practice together.

Biorhythms, completely acceptable and relevant here.

But NO BIOSTATISTICS!! NO MATHY THINGS!!

Hi all, well, have some disturbing news to report.

My cat, Delilah, ripped open an abcess on her face (beyond disgusting, although no where near 7 feet of tapeworm) so I took her to the vet. He took her into the back room to clean her up, and came back in a few mnutes later to say: You might want to think about changing the name because Delilah is, <deep breath> a boy.

Yes, my poor cat is gender confused. Although this goes a long way towards explaining her his behaviour problems.

So now we're working on repairing his self esteem, acknowledging his (huevoless) manliness and changing our pronoun useage.

sigh

Oh...poor Delilah/Samson. From abcess to transgender...KITTY THERAPY needed. Or perhaps Delilah will be comfortable in her (his?) metrosexuality!

Splendid form tonight, sillies!!!! Impressively mirthy. Outstanding jocularity. Irrepressible frivolity. I've been using the thesaurus on dictionary.com, can you tell? . . . Hey, put away that red pen, I do NOT write like a Yeti!

Miss Janet- I DO DECLARE- excellent verbiage.

No one will love you like we do (said very seriously - with straight face)

that's right and DON'T YOU FORGET IT or the yeti will stalk you for life :o:P

Man, that creature was like a symphony on ice...I could not believe the grace. Like nothing we've EVER seen, in our parade, at Amanda's wedding, in the hottub, or as Santa. Made it look so effortless. It seemed like the Forrest Gump syndrome--I simply jelled into his caged-up, visored face as he was being shoved out onto the ice, "Okay, yeti!! You gotta stop, I mean annihilate, every single little black thing that's fired at you!! DO IT FOR THE TEAM, MY BOY!" ...and he did. Ask him to do something, he will just do it.

It may have helped that I mentioned a trip back to Jess's lab if any pucks were let in...

Heaven forbid!! Those massive, crooked fangs were absolutely pivotal in his sensational save record. He caught more pucks than I catch breaks.

Don't mess with success!!

OMG- he almost sounded sexy (like a Cam Neeley) until I remembered he had fangs. Cam Neeley did NOT have fangs. Saw him in a bar once in Boston after a Bruins game and almost lost my sweater (I seem to have these kinds of problems when drdinking). For those of you not familiar: Open Original Shared Link

Anyone notice that his wife looks a lot like...hmmm...I don't know...maybe ME? :P

Peanuts ... or balls ... in Spanish.

I thought it was CAJONES???????????

OMg Susie, take care of yourself. I was watching the new last night and saw that storm heading your way....Want to fly to a much sweeter place? We have heaps of chocolate here :)

He looked enormous and scary, two very valuable attributes as a goalie on a junior team. Sexy...nah. But, judge for yourself: one of the parents snapped a photo of our yeti as he was scrambling about, doing his magic:

NO MATHS! NO MATHS!!

Wow a new queen! Very exciting.

I'm down with biostats and maths of all kind but I take exception to pipettes. I learned during my 4th year research project that micropipettes and I do not get along. Many a time I wanted to pelt them against the wall.

P.S. -- Queen Jess, the picture of your niece is pretty much the cutest things I've ever seen!

6. mennonite committee meetings

Sounds like a very intriguing and random thing that takes place in hell.

<wincing> Yeahhhhhhh .. .. .. . I know I saw it around. At one point, it appeared John's mom was looking to fashion a TP roll holder out of it :o , but now I'm wondering whether it may have gotten packed away w/ the little one's array of princess gear, awaiting testing for chinese lead.

Anybody else picturing Tom playing Open Original Shared Link. (It's a board game for those that don't know). I just hope he played it with a neice or his roomate's daughter and NOT with a bunch of other 40-year old men.

Mygawd....could it be a Canton factory recall?!!...Tom, how much did you play with this thing over the holidays? Think about it...all of your allergic-type nausea and illness that you fretted about?...Perhaps not crumbs from your sister's kitchen...

Yes, I noticed when you quoted me that my link had gone awry. That had been a link to show you what Pretty Pretty Princess was. That's happened to me before . . . sorry forgot to double check to make sure my link worked. And I want to say that both times it was when I was trying to link to amazon. . . hmmm. . . . and there's Peter, so let's ask . . .

Why does that do that, Peter?

BTW, I fixed the link in case anybody would like to get themselves the game . . .

I was undiagnosed for decades. My ferritin when checked in 2003 was 3. It never went above 10 in the next 20 years. I was just told to "take iron". I finally requested the TTgIgA test in 2023 when I was well and truly done with the chronic fatigue and feeling awful. My numbers were off the charts on the whole panel.  they offered me an endoscopic biopsy 3 months later, but that i would need to continue eating gluten for it to be accurate. so i quit eating gluten and my intestine had healed by the time i had the biopsy (i'm guessing??). Why else would my TTgIgA be so high if not celiacs? Anyway, your ferritin will rise as your intestine heals and take HEME iron (brand 4 arrows). I took 20mg of this with vitamin c and lactoferrin and my ferritin went up, now sits around 35.  you will feel dramatically better getting your ferritin up, and you can do it orally with the right supplements. I wouldn't get an infusion, you will get as good or better results taking heme iron/vc/lf.

Scott, I agree with everything you said except the term "false negative". It should be a "true negative" just plain negative. I actually looked up true/false negative/positive as it pertains to testing. The term "false negative" would be correct if you are positive (have anti-bodies) and the test did not pick them up. That would be a problem with the "test" itself. If you were gluten-free and got tested, you more than likely would test "true" negative or just negative. This means that the gluten-free diet is working and no anti-bodies should be present. I know it sounds confusing and if you don't agree feel free to respond.
    • SilkieFairy
I realized it is actually important to get an official diagnosis because then insurance can cover bone density testing and other lab work to see if any further damage has been done because of it. Also, if hospitalized for whatever reason, I have the right to gluten-free food if I am officially celiac. I guess it gives me some legal protections. Plus, I have 4 kids, and I really want to know. If I really do have it then they may have increased risk.
    • par18
Been off this forum for years. Is it that important that you get an official diagnosis of something? It appears like you had a trigger (wheat, gluten, whatever) and removing it has resolved your symptom. I can't speak for you, but I had known what my trigger was (gluten) years before my diagnosis I would just stay gluten-free and get on with my symptom free condition. I was diagnosed over 20 years ago and have been symptom free only excluding wheat, rye and barley. I tolerate all naturally gluten free whole foods including things like beans which actually helps to form the stools.
    • trents
No coincidence. Recent revisions to gluten challenge guidelines call for the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten (about the amount in 4-6 slices of wheat bread) for a minimum of 3 weeks. If possible, I would extend that two weeks to ensure valid testing.
