Bev I can't get on, it says inappropriate for some viewers

Oh Susie Q, my heart just breaks for you and your little love bug Annie.

Like everyone else said, it takes time. You never forget, but the pain does lessen.

I lost my good old boy 2 1/2 years ago and he was always by my side. Not a day or two goes by that I don't think of him, I have his pictures all around.

Hold on tight to you memories, they will carry you through. And Annie too, you are both need each other to lean on!

Getting away to the cabin sounds like a good idea.

The trick with selling the baby stuff is to get sterilised first (as I did ;) )

cotton balls

Totally unecessary!!!

An elderly neighbor in my old neighborhood was having a boot yard sale.

We Brits do have Boot sales but we do it en masse in a field (hundreds of us):lol:

I was wondering the same thing--are we all going nuts???

Past tense - have gone nuts

OK....you guys have to check out

Says You!!!! You just wait . . . and it will happen soon, now . . . you'll be out and about and it will flash into your mind . . . "Damn, I wish I had a cotton ball!!"

Um, yes, I've been carring them for years and haven't used one, yet . . .

tom . . . haven't the vaguest idea what woodshedding is . . . is that where the kid hides the sax in the woodshed to get out of practicing?

Morrrrrning, All!...

things just don't feel.......right any more. :( Will this go away, quite soon?

Poor Susie.... :wub::(

I remember the pain of that kind of grieving like it was yesterday, when I lost our female standard (now she was NOT SUB-standard, like other specimens I know...), and I just remember trying to take one day at a time, corny as it sounds, like an AA member. I have to admit, though, that it very suddenly got a whole lot better when I brought home a new pup (Gus), and that was two weeks after Zoe had died. I just couldn't stand it, and my mom collected me one day, and out we went to a breeder's.

It absolutely does get easier, Susie....((hugs))...

p.s.

but you know sumfin? Gus's substandard poodle smile and head-tilt makes us LAUGH...............

Do you think he's smiling? Or simply staring quizzically, wondering what it's all about, why he's here, and what the secret of life is?:rolleyes:

Tom, the pockets, I don't know what to tell ya. Can you fit tampons in there? because until you can do that, you're just not.......adequate.

Yes, this is a prerequisite if you are dating a pre-menopausal woman. Not that you're likely to be asked to carry her spare around for her, but it certainly sends an impressive first message if you say, "Hey, look, hon...you ever need a spot for an extra tampon, I mean ever....do not hesitate to ask. Check out these pockets..."

My parents also are musical- both are songwriters, and they had a rock band for a long time. Got a little local radio play in Rochester when I was a kid.

Sarah! Fantastic! See if they're on youtube. I wanna see them!

Emily, nope they're not on youtube. <_< They did a LOT of parties, weddings, bars, etc. My uncle did hear one of their singles on a "Whatever Happened to..." radio show a few years ago, which is kind of astonishing. The band was called Prospect Highway.

Janet, I THEENK "woodshedding" is when you do some hard-core solitary practicing. Is that right, Tom???

I'm up to my earballs in wee  I found a couple of spots in the corner of the dining room where Allo apparantly relieved himself :angry:

No stain, not even damp, and actually no smell.....I caught him sniffing round over there in his "too interested" sort of way <_< , and when I ran my hand over the carpet, I could smell old wee on my hand :o:angry:

So, I'm in the process of treating the whole corner.....

scary loos? Try Poland. Didn't want to touch anything in that little box. And they were cleaned at the end of the day by spraying the little boxes with presumably incredibly toxic chemicals.

Oh, gawwwwwwdd...nothing as as HANUS. I go inside a portaloo when I am in absolute agony from holding pee for so long...I am TERRIFIED that it will tip over, for some reason (perhaps because they are free-standing, and my hover technique alters the centre of its gravity). These horrid things are the provided bathrooms in Hell....

Scared me...glad to hear the good news though- you deserve it. Your silly has been sacked too much!

Yes, Amanda! In celebration, keep our brain for the next couple of days!

Oh no, port-a-potties, a whole other category of hanus-ity......

Ridgewalker Contributor

OMG! Porta-potties, yyyyuuuuck!

Once in awhile I work with my Dad if he's working on a Saturday. He's in construction, does finishing work. (Yep, I am no stranger to drywall mud.) The only working bathrooms on these construction site are Porta-potties... used only by MEN. Ugh.

So when I work with him, I take a canister of Clorox wipes with me. As soon as we get there, first thing in the morning, I wipe that thing down. And then clean my hands with Clorox wipes. Since I only go on occasional Saturdays, we're the only ones there, so after that, I know that at least the surfaces I might touch are disinfected.

Horrid. *shudder*

No more talk of little hairs on toilet seats- I can stand wee but not the PUBES! I hate that word so much that in college, my friend Kristin who had a head of very curly dark hair sent me an envelope of it with the word "PUBES!!!!!!!!!!!!" written on the card. gack, gag, blech!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aw Julie, that long ago????? Annie says you REALLY need another one!!!!!!!!!!! :) I couldn't manage without her.......the ONLY time in my entire life I was pet-free was when Cookster died.......I waited six weeks and then got the Stink......it was a TERRIBLE and very lonely six weeks.......

We Brits do have Boot sales but we do it en masse in a field (hundreds of us)

I believe here we call that a swap meet. Only, NONE of the guys are hot or look remotely like Hugh Grant. They can be rather of the toothless and unsavory variety, rather like "carnies" hawking their sullied wares. (well, depends on the town, actually - that's what they're like in THIS ghet-toe)

Do you think he's smiling? Or simply staring quizzically, wondering what it's all about, why he's here, and what the secret of life is?

Hi,  My 7 year daughter has complained of this in the past, which I thought were part of her glutening symptom, but more recently I have come to figure out it's part of her histamine overload symptom. This one symptom was part of her broader profile, which included irritability, extreme hunger, confusion, post-nasal drip. You might want to look up "histamine intolerance". I wish I had known of this at the time of her diagnosis, life would have been much easier.  I hope you are able to figure out.
    • lizzie42
My 5yo was diagnosed with celiac last year by being tested after his sister was diagnosed. We are very strict on the gluten-free diet, but unsure what his reactions are as he was diagnosed without many symptoms other than low ferritin.  He had a school party where his teacher made gluten-free gingerbread men. I almost said no because she made it in her kitchen but I thought it would be ok.  Next day and for a few after his behavior is awful. Hitting, rude, disrespectful. Mainly he kept saying his legs were shaking. Is this a gluten exposure symptom that anyone else gets? Also the bad behavior?
    • trents
Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified Gluten" in any given batch run. It just means there could be.
    • trents
I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.
