I'll take this one Pedro.

C=5/9(F-32)

Or just google to find a site that'll do it for you.

The other way it's F=9/5C + 32

<tom actually never remembers the equations so just derives them again as needed> (bet THAT sounds scary to all but Janet!!)

Okay, you mathy guys...

My way is a lot easier!! So there!! :Pgrumble grumble....five-ninths of fahrenheit minus thirty-two....BAH! I can't derive anything as needed.....except maybe a gerund or two.... :rolleyes::lol:

Exactlyt!!!!

Only have to remember two points:

0oC = 32oF

100oC = 212oF

(That's freezing and boiling pts of water for all you nonMathS types).

:lol::lol::lol:

*giggle giggle* What Fun!

What I DO know for sure, and I am especially reminded of it when I look at Janet's summary, is that the U.S. is crazy for not switching to metric, like the rest of the world...C'mon, guys, it's all tens! Multiples of ten...how marvelous! Now THAT'S math I can learn to love....or at least, tolerate..... <_<

Heehee it's your basic y = mx + b people!!

Far cry from Fermat's Last Theorem!!!

W/ the Y-intercept handed to you (0oC = 32oF), all you need is the slope of a straight line!!!

Janet, I second your "*giggle giggle* What Fun!"

Ack!! That can't be the one next to WhFds can it? Uhhh downtown Campbell?

Hmmmm there's prob 3 or 4 in betw . .. .

Yes & long ago scientists and engineers etc DID switch.

But the Public doesn't have to do the math & make sure the units all cancel out properly!!!!

I likes me miles, inches, gallons, pints & pounds!!!!! (Tho I did need to learn, long ago, that 1 oz = 28.3 grams, but that's a topic for another forum)

Well, as an artist, all I can get excited about is the straight line...and a sloping one even better... :lol:

...Wait...Fermat's Last Theorem...I remember having to execute passionate, spontaneous gesture drawings embodying this proposition...

If an integer n is greater than 2, then the equation an + bn = cn has no solutions in non-zero integers a, b, and c.

Quite an assignment. The archtecture majors were in heaven... :rolleyes:

What/Where is Big Sur? I wanna go!

Now how'd I miss this?

It's a mostly unspoiled part of coastal central CA - prob 80-90% of what's betw Pebble Beach and Hearst Castle.

"Where the Mountains meet the Sea"

Bet you've seen pix!!

I'll bet a 2-month 5-emoticon addition to your emoticol's limit. Of course, as a zero-sum situation, I'd be depleting my stores by 5 per post.

We on???

That was a cute movie, 10 Things I Hate About You

I also liked him in The Four Feathers, a movie that didn't get much attention.

The latest speculation is that it was an accidental overdose from mixing Ambien with an over the counter sleeping aid :o

Annie, I have decided, has FINICKY, high-maintenance bowels....every morning, at the cabin, she would not poop until we walked up the road a bit. Would NOT go outside and poop......HAS to be ambulating. :blink: Pooped in the exact same spot three times, all atop each other, rather like a Poop Cairn. :lol:

And thank you, Annie and I had such a lovely time....I am wondering when I have to take Stinker's photo out of my av? :( Gawd, we miss her......her ashes are ready, I am picking them up tomorrow, and then must select an urn, there is going to be a rather sizeable Stinker Shrine in the dining room niche. :lol:

I finally found my Mastercard ("priceless") little ditty I wrote about Stinker after one of her surgeries.......may post it, wanted to do it before but could not locate it......will it be weird?

Julie - - I REALLY want you to ask if you can let that sweet dog in your house...pleeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He will be SO happy to rest his old, aching, cold bones on a soft bed in teh house.....I HATE THOSE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry:

Didn't notice your post count, Susie...if you are close to a big turnover, just start posting a whole bunch of "That's interesting"s in many scattered threads. That should jump start'er....

What/Where is Big Sur? I wanna go!

:lol: Well, yes! good idea, and perhaps make it more.........fluid - like..........

BIG SUR is only the most magic place in all the world.......I will explain it to you later........

:lol: I saw that too! OMG - - whilst in Big Sur I was chatty w/ some locals - lovely kooks, all of them - - and we talked about JR. I would look closely at them and say, you will not be-LEEVE whom I dated. They would try to guess.......and finally I would say - think, angry little man......no one got it......but when they found out who it was - each told me a story of His Royal Crankiness...........great fun... *snicker*

Last year I walked into the womans bathroom at work and someone left a log on the floor next to the toliet. I can see some people having runny accidents, I have been there, where I almost my!issed and all...But a log....sheesh! and these are women!

What bothers me is this is not a public bathroom in which you think, the rest of the hospital does not use it, visitors and such, it is off the beaten path and hard to find. There are only a few of us in the area to use this bathroom....

Someone is a piggy!

      Welcome to the celiac.com community, @SamAlvi! Were there any other antibody tests ordered? Particularly, was there a "total IGA" test ordered to check for IGA deficiency. When people are IGA deficient, celiac panel IGA test scores, such as the TTG-IGA, are likely not valid. If a total IGA test was not ordered, I would request such to be done. Note: "Total IGA" goes by other names as well. I will include a primer on celiac disease antibody testing which does a good job in covering the nomenclature variations connected with the various tests. Elevated IGG scores can certainly indicate celiac disease but they are more likely than elevated IGA tests to be caused by something else.

      Thank you— yes, valid and essential— The issue either doctors is that every one I have tried to talk to about this has essentially rolled their eyes and dismissed me as a hypochondriac, which gets discouraging. I believe a diagnosis would help me to be taken seriously by doctors as well as being validating, but can carry on without it.    There are many, probably most people in my area of my age and gender, who avoid gluten, but many just avoid it casually— eating the occasional plate of wheat pasta or a delicious-looking dessert, or baking cookies with wheat flour for gatherings.  That is not an option for me. I don’t eat other people’s cooking or go to restaurants that do not have strict cross- contamination procedures. It can be boring and lonely, and people do look at me as if I am being a bit dramatic but weeks of symptoms after a single small exposure has taught me to respect my experience.    Thank you very much for your response— sometimes I just need to hear that I am not crazy—
    • lalan45
      You’re not crazy—some people have severe neurological and physical reactions to gluten, not just digestive issues. While testing can be tricky without eating gluten, documenting symptoms and seeing a specialist familiar with atypical celiac or gluten-related disorders can help. Your reactions are real, and it’s valid to be cautious.

      You might consider asking for a referral to a RD (Registered Dietician) to help with food choices and planning a diet. Even apart from any gluten issues, you will likely find there are some foods you need to avoid because of the shorter bowel but you may also find that your system may make adjustments over time and that symptoms may improve.
