I see the ascensions as more time-based than subject to the whimsy of post-coronational mulletsite-hijacking-induced postal renumerations.

  I just love the above sentence

dunjin

I've been feeling somewhat....odd today, and a little last night. Like I'm in a kind of nether-world, where everything is running a little out of real-time whack.....a strange, stationary jetlag, if you will. Then, the lightbulb went off. It's the two lost posts!! It's made my life timeline go off the rails....Cannot remember what day it is...feels much later in the day than it is....don't quite know who this man is that I'm living with....must PM Scott and inform him of how his minor administrative moves remain quite far-reaching....

OMG - this is PRECISELY the problem! Here I was, blaming my exhaustion/ennui/crankiness on Vegas, when it TRULY can be traced to this derailment of our thread adn the vortex therein!!!!!!! :o

Poor Emily--you're really taking it on the chin, all this post-losing and parallel universes and stuff....

Who KNEW that this would have such an effect on us all--will we EVER return to some semblence of normality?

 soon, I hope

Patti! I totally understand your exhaustion over this whole trip! Stay strong, little soldier, it'll all be back to normal soon!

You can do this by accident. Or your cat can do it for you.

 those crazy cats!

Sillies........... :(

there is somethign wrong with me. Today - a HUGE gluten poop attack - - I canNOT trace its origins, can't think what in hell happened, what I ate wrong. Burst into tears today......just not myslef at all. Kissey is gone tonight, and I am shockingly thankful, I want to crawl into bed and cry. I am just so exhausted. Chronically. Kissey has SO much energy and is running around ALL of the time......he is gone for the night to a barbecue at his brother's in Bay area - I opted out. What is WRONG with me? :( Going to actually go to bed and cry and read a book and.......fall asleep and.....hopefully awake feeling more normal tomorrow.

Oh and......my HAIR is causing me untold rage. <ahttps://www.celiac.com/uploads/emoticons/default_mad.gif' alt=''> I got it dyed 10 days ago (semi-permanent to reduce damage), and got it cut by a different gal yesterday......ALL the gray was showing, the new hairdresser (I am now officially broken up with the old one) was shocked. WORTHLESS!!!!!!!! And it's faded already. I have HAD IT.......so - today - I bought a box of L'Oreal and did it myslef......it's the SAME coloUr, only redder  , the grEy IS covered......but.......I wanted dark brunette!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO SICK OF MY HAIR...........someone help me..........

cranky..........teary........whiny........anxious.........tired.................what is WRONG with me??????

:(

harrumph. off to bed, right now, 6:00 at night, with my book, my dingo, adn my RED HAIR.

<sorry for the rant>

I don't see any sign of any group related to celiac, the groups do come and go so maybe Broncobux's group is no longer. It would have been fun to see if some of the older members of the forum who don't come around anymore were in that group.

Emily, I would say yes they are basically the same thing. Both are social networking websites.

They sound very similar. Facebook offers all that crazy stuff, too....and they have a plethora of celiac groups...I must check them out for any familiar names.

Mygawd....just glanced at my bibbed self in photo..... :o<_< Somehow don't think it is NEARLY as funny on me as it will be on ma mere. I suspect I just look like a .....hmmm...pathetic Cindy Crawford wannabe? But my mom, OMG.....what a scream.....she's five foot nuthin', quite a chubby countenance.....and eighty years old....

Now that would be quite a shot....

I love the bib Emily! It looks wonderful. Stopped by Colin's today after supper and he was in the middle of a painting. He hasn't painted in at least a year as far as I know. A good, good sign! He was looking at a painting of our mom's from that box I told you guys about. The painting was of a house and Colin's painting was of what he "imagined the house next door would look like".

Susie :(

I swear I wish I was out there so I could come over and give you a hug--so much for you to to deal with all at once....

I think you're right--when you feel like that, the best thing is to slip into bed with a book and try and fall asleep early. I'm sure everything will be better in the morning :) There's not a thing wrong with you--you're just tired :)

I've found that semi-permanent color really is useless against greys--it just doesn't last long enough. They say 28 washes or something, but 10 days is about it :( I can relate to not wanting to cause any more damage than you have to, though....

I colored my hair 3 weeks ago, and just today I had to pluck out an errant grey hair from the top of my head--it came out of nowhere--about 2 inches long :angry: Gawd

HEY!! Susie!! Was that an apology??!! Now, what did we say about apologising for our rants? I believe there is even a Royal Edict against such.

You likely need sleep, so bed is a good idea. Book, dingo, red hair...this sounds very good, Susie. When you wake up, it will be a new, better day. :):)

but one more thing.......something that just cracked me up - - last night, I actually was telling kissey what happened, with the wrinkle in time in our thread and the deleted posts...... looked at him and said, "well, you know we crown a new king or queen w/ each 100 posts, right?" and he replies, "Yes, and Tom is king now, right?" "yes. But, see, since that link from 2006 is now actually porn, two posts were deleted, and now the entire monarchy, all the reigns, are really just null and void, adn we are suspecting Patti of this diabolical scheme, this bloodless coup........" *snort*

  and I just burst out laughing maniacally at how unbelievably goofy we are - just that alone - that we decided to name a monarch for each 100 pages - and fluids may coincide with this - - what other people do you think there are, in all the threads in the world, that are as nutty as we are? [and BTW this is why I love Kissey so much, he was just guffawing over it right there with me - he is a HUGE goof]

Morning, Guys!

Heard Bryce, our big tom, barfing up some large things in the middle of the night. I am thinking that this may have been the extent of the 2000 deluge...knock wood....

Gad, this likely means that I did NOT have to wear the bib to bed, although for some reason my husband seemed quite happy that I had it on....in fact, he's asked that I wear it again tonight....<_<

Does anyone know Diana Krall's version of "All of Nothing At All?"

Luuuuuuuuuuuuurve the phrasing and overall sultry stylings.

I absolutely luuuurrrrvvvvve Krall's arrangements--unparalleled, at times, and her playing is beautiful. Whenever I hear one of her songs, I always wish she would shut up. I'm not a fan of her singing, and to watch her perform is, for me, somehow...painful. But man, ADORE the stuff happening behind her!

I was thinking about possible fixes, and that one came to mind, but I wasn't sure if I could explain it well enough in a message:

Display your desktop;

Thanks, Peter. It is, and I am not kidding, astonishing that I figured this out on my own, and not in three hours.:lol:

OMG! Emily, take cover in a place where you are safe from flooding. I assume that, of course, you have flood insurance. Will made the necessary arrangements, didn't he?

Be well, my friend.

Full flood coverage, with allowances for acts of God and/or Sudden Page Flipover (SPF)....

Think I'd best wear the bib out on all my errands today.

You know, I paint much, much less now......the bipolar years led to such constant creativity...I do miss that.

I paint as much as always....this probably means that I remain at a status quo in terms of insanity. <_<

I'd go with a vodka tonic, but that's just me😉
    • Rejoicephd
That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.

While plain, pure tea leaves (black, green, or white) are naturally gluten-free, the issue often lies not with the tea itself but with other ingredients or processing. Many flavored teas use barley malt or other gluten-containing grains as a flavoring agent, which would be clearly listed on the ingredient label. Cross-contamination is another possibility, either in the facility where the tea is processed or, surprisingly, from the tea bag material itself—some tea bags are sealed with a wheat-based glue. Furthermore, it's important to consider that your reaction could be to other substances in tea, such as high levels of tannins, which can be hard on the stomach, or to natural histamines or other compounds that can cause a non-celiac immune response. The best way to investigate is to carefully read labels for hidden ingredients, try switching to a certified gluten-free tea brand that uses whole leaf or pyramid-style bags, and see if the reaction persists.

This is a challenging and confusing situation. The combination of a positive EMA—which is a highly specific marker rarely yielding false positives—alongside strongly elevated TTG on two separate occasions, years apart, is profoundly suggestive of celiac disease, even in the absence of biopsy damage. This pattern strongly aligns with what is known as "potential celiac disease," where the immune system is clearly activated, but intestinal damage has not yet become visible under the microscope. Your concern about the long-term risk of continued gluten consumption is valid, especially given your family's experience with the consequences of delayed diagnosis. Since your daughter is now at an age where her buy-in is essential for a gluten-free lifestyle, obtaining a definitive answer is crucial for her long-term adherence and health. Given that she is asymptomatic yet serologically positive, a third biopsy now, after a proper 12-week challenge, offers the best chance to capture any microscopic damage that may have developed, providing the concrete evidence needed to justify the dietary change. This isn't about wanting her to have celiac; it's about wanting to prevent the insidious damage that can occur while waiting for symptoms to appear, and ultimately giving her the unambiguous "why" she needs to accept and commit to the necessary treatment. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because some people are naturally IGA deficient, and if this is the case, then certain blood tests for celiac disease might be false-negative, and other types of tests need to be done to make an accurate diagnosis. The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate.
