Hi me Sillies

I'm hard at work painting,

Hope ya'll are having a nice weekend--the Canadian 3-day!!!!Yeah! Happy V's birthday to you guys up there. :)

I see Bevvie and Ryan checked in! This computer is so freaking slow  This morning I gave up trying to connect--sat here for 10 minutes and couldn't even access my email.

Patti- Come back to us!!!!!!!!!!! PUHLEAZZZZZEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Canadian 3 -day- hmm...that sounds like an endurance sport.......or 3 days of (oops, sorry, mind in the gutter) something wif a good looking Candian hockey players. "Sorry girls, I need to rest up. I've got my Canadian 3 day coming this weekend" :P

Been working out in the yard a bit this morning. It was suppose to rain this afternoon so of course it's sunny and blue skies.

When I first read this, I pictured Janet pumping iron like her backyard was Venice Beach

Janet, I believe I know this Glidden coloUr of that neighboUr dog of your'n that stopped by - it's called Border Collie Hybrid Confusion.

Parti ColoUr Poodles! 'Tis another band name, perhaps an opener for the BadAss Snow Poodles, and it can be a theme night at a club (obviously Poodle Night, or - clearly leading into another band name, Obvious Poodle Night..... ). :D

Am getting liposuction and a boob job on Monday.

All I can say to this, my dear Susie is (the Gutter Wig part too)

I have to say, Bev is somehow phunnier when she doesn't feel well. Well - of course Bevvy - yer funny all the time but - - you are MADDER even when you feel bad.

and speaking of that, I am feeling inordinately phunny today, don't know why, cleaning the house and left alone w/ my dingo thoughts (listening to music at least), and chortling to self at own thoughts.

Oh yeah - along wif my boob job/tummy lipo, I'm having my eyes done (upper lid lift) and......a chemical peel and hair extensions also. I'm not telling Kissey, will just see if he notices anything different.

So now we have

maltipoos

Labradoodles

Bordermans (you know- all the energy of a border collie with the strength of a Doberman)

Pooachows

Dingopoos

Olde English Sheeppoos

I think they are also working on catapoos (catapults?)

As long as they don't turn out Bernese Mountain Poos!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, it is probably me that you have been seeing. I logged in invisibly about a week ago for a specific reason and haven't logged out and back in since. I will reveal myself again after this post.

The day started out cool and wet, but since late morning it has been sunny and a bit warmer than expected. It is rather windy.

Okay, I will share the reason for the anonymous login. I am a fan of the original Star Trek and always wanted to try the famous Romulan cloaking device. This is as close as I have been able to get.

As a moderator, I wanted to look into a member's activities without disclosing my presence. When you view a member's profile, your own identity is recorded in their profile for all to see--unless you are anonymous. An anonymous member can follow links from a thread to the profiles of the posters, and from there to their other posts in other threads, without leaving a trail.

I am not the only person to visit Sillyville this way. There have been times when I have observed an anonymous member and it wasn't me. I have an idea who it is, but I'm not telling. (It's not Scott.)

OMG......True clandestine, cloak-and-dagger activity!! King Peter The Watchful....Incredible how this is all like some secretive task force, moderators slipping in and out of "anonymous" identities to gain untrackable access to member profiles....

....and you never leave a trail........

Good grief! That is very strange. I have no idea.

Perhaps bare skin is an attraction. Maybe you should try sitting nekkid in an ordinary chair, and report back to us?

We must send a spiegh to spoegh on our Spye.

possible reasons to spye on a poster:

1. Poster WAS in fact known to be posting nekkid

2. Poeter is recruiting for silly thread

3. Poster is KNOWN to be eating gluten-y delights - esp. those fffffffrench dip sandwiches from that evil show.

4. Peter is feeling too much pressure as Oracle, had panic attack trying to figure out why Jess's kitty pees on her lap sits on her lap whilst she pees, is looking for replacement.

got nowt else. Oh, except I DO know why I'm fun and funny today, 'tis Saturday, I'm better on weekends as have reprieve from evil job search.:(

Back to silly.

And I have a question for the Oracle:

Why does my cat only want to sit on my lap when I'm going potty?

And why does my dog start barking as soon as I start talking on the phone?

I can't even begin to think how you'd describe Lilo by mashing together breed names. I know she's got German Shepherd in her... I'm almost positive her mother was part Rottweiler... She has some Chow, because she has black blotches all over her tongue... and she's the strongest dog I've ever met. She routinely breaks collars and leashes. :( She's not huge, but she's like a doggy Superman.

Btw, Ezra's doing better. His leg doesn't look normal yet, but much better.

I FINALLY found a fiber supplement for Lucas. My criteria: it had to not be a nasty powder, not be expensive, had to have a recommended children's dosage, and had to be stated as gluten-free. Settled on FiberChoice chewables. Now on the hunt for a pro-biotic that also fits the above criteria.

Seems like I've been spending a lot of time in the supplement aisle... We just found out Brian's cholesterol is really high. And the good cholesterol is really low. Our doc put him on Fish Oil caps and CoQ10... and a low cholesterol diet. He's starting it Monday. (shudder) Gonna be interesting.

Another btw... Jess, is it my imagination, or do you neatly side-step mentioning exactly what it is you do? You're up there on that island engineering dinosaurs, aren't you???

No, No, No . . . been there . . . done that . . . made a couple of movies about it. No, Jess is working on a secret formula for decloaking Romulan Starships . . . thus ferreting out, who Opeter has been stalking.

Jestgar Rising Star

Our lab studies the genetics of inflammation. Some studies with blood from volunteers. My studies are using cell lines from families. I do a combination of cell culture, gene expression, and genetic studies (all those nasty statistics).

I'd invite you-all to google me, but I'm not that kind of a girl.;)

OMG.....it has never occurred to me to do this - - come in anonymously. Why is this? I suppose I just don't care if everyone knows I'm on here. Perhaps I should....I certainly never worry that someone sees my name, then it disappears without a post from me, and they think, "MYGAWDD!!! What on earth's happened??! Em's here...and GONE!! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!! IS SHE OKAY??" Like, you guys don't do that......

Right? :rolleyes::lol:

And why does my dog start barking as soon as I start talking on the phone?

I think that's Harriet's law....

Peter, why do all of my animals follow me into the bathroom and stand there staring when I pee? I like your explanaton about skin contact with the cats....this one's trickier.....

... I'm almost positive her mother was part Rottweiler... She has some Chow, because she has black blotches all over her tongue...

AHHH!!!! MORE CHOW!!!!

This has something to do with the secret member that Peter is clandestinely chasing through various threads...I can just feel it. Perhaps it's a code word...chow.....hmmmm.

Celiacs HarboUring Old Women?

Sarah! Good news about Ez's leg! And it sounds like you've got the right approach to Brian's high cholesterol....

I'd invite you-all to google me, but I'm not that kind of a girl.;)

As I'm sure we've all learned, sometimes it's just more satisfying to google oneself.

Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified Gluten" in any given batch run. It just means there could be.
    • trents
I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.

Are Bobresmill gluten free oats ok for sensitive celiacs?
    • jenniber
thank you both for the insights. i agree, im going to back off on dairy and try sucraid. thanks for the tip about protein powder, i will look for whey protein powder/drinks!   i don’t understand why my doctor refused to order it either. so i’ve decided i’m not going to her again, and i’m going to get a second opinion with a GI recommended to me by someone with celiac. unfortunately my first appointment isn’t until February 17th. do you think i should go gluten free now or wait until after i meet with the new doctor? i’m torn about what i should do, i dont know if she is going to want to repeat the endoscopy, and i know ill have to be eating gluten to have a positive biopsy. i could always do the gluten challenge on the other hand if she does want to repeat the biopsy.    thanks again, i appreciate the support here. i’ve learned a lot from these boards. i dont know anyone in real life with celiac.
    • trents
Let me suggest an adjustment to your terminology. "Celiac disease" and "gluten intolerance" are the same. The other gluten disorder you refer to is NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) which is often referred to as being "gluten sensitive". Having said that, the reality is there is still much inconsistency in how people use these terms. Since celiac disease does damage to the small bowel lining it often results in nutritional deficiencies such as anemia. NCGS does not damage the small bowel lining so your history of anemia may suggest you have celiac disease as opposed to NCGS. But either way, a gluten-free diet is in order. NCGS can cause bodily damage in other ways, particularly to neurological systems.
