Turns out, it's another autoimmune disease- go figure. Sarcoidosis.

She's got to go in for some tests and x-rays to see if the lesions are on her lungs, liver, etc. Generally, Sarcoidosis is treated with steroids, which may be tricky for her, but hey-- it's not cancer!

God, what a weight off!

I would say that this was the one and only disappointment in our UK adventure........the PB was quite heinous. I ate it anyway to avoid interfering withdrawal symptoms, but 'twas nothing like the classic North American stuff..... . ..

I would do well over there, actually. I would NOT eat the PB that I do, and the infamous ten pounds would be gone.....

Thank you, you guys!!!!!!! :wub: Honestly, the worry and feelings of dread were getting so bad, I haven't even been making any plans past today. Or no, I was already making plans-- who can I call in to take turns watching my kids so I can take my mom to chemo, etc... It was such a weird situation, with the doctor thinking a mistake had been made two years ago, that we were just so scared... that this was gonna be bad.

BUT IT'S NOT!!!

House of Sand and Fog goes down as the most depressing and non-redemptive book I've EVER read. Sad people, sad, awful situations, and a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE ending. I couldn't even trade the book in, just threw it away.

Okay.......about this UK peanut butter issue.......I think when the weather cools I'm goign to have to send Nik a jar of Skippy Naturals pb (is that illegal? )..........'tis heaven in a jar......and THEN she can see what it's truly like, maybe she can become a wealthy peanut butter magnate (or typhoon/taifun?, as Rinne likes to say ), importing it into England by the buttload.

This is a good question.....I'm comparing it to the President's Choice "Just Peanuts" brand (better even than Skippy, Susie.....and cheaper!)....nothing there but peanuts. The Stuff in London that I found (two different brands, both yucky) had more than peanuts, but I believe only sodium and a couple of other things....the list was very short, anyway. Tasted rather....hmmmm....stale?.......old, dryish....a little sour, as I recall........

umm..........Em.........."just peanuts" makes me - um- gag a little. Whenever I buy just plain ol' peanuts w/ nuttin' else - can't take it. All that oil on the top - - dry and pasty at the bottom. Nope, give me some additives, any day.

Well, that's not entirely true. Here's what's on my Skippy Naturals Super Chunk label: roasted peanuts, sugar, <sugar IS natural, remember> palm oil, salt. I LURVE IT and can't get enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (well, I do eat it in moderation and forget about it, actually - - probably consumed only three times a month, maybe?)

I need to do SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many things and am procrastinating. Oh, wait, am pulling a Pseu-zee.

Julie! Phoenix, in this weather????????? OMG.........just sounds hot to me. But - Kissey was just there - he stayed somewhere fabulous - Weston? dunno........ And they went to this famous biker bar adn the bartender girl is my twin - - not kidding - - he took her picture and showed it to me - astonishing........

AAAAAGH!!!!! It's been 113 & 112F for a few days now, so I'll say indoors or in the pool.

There's not a lotta there there, but you might want to visit Scottsdale's Old Town district and/or Tempe's Mill Ave.

Oh wait .. . .didn't you say you'd like the dry heat? There are good hiking parks all around. Lemme know how much you like heat after that. (Bring 3x the amount of water you'd expect)

Nah ... Phx, Scottsdale, Tempe etc all adjacent.

Now maybe if you're staying in Glendale you wouldn't trek to Chandler, but the better known cities are all close enough.

P.S. It kinda blows my mind that you'd go to Phx voluntarily when it's 112F , unless it's just a pit-stop on the way to Sedona or other cooler spots.

Edit P.P.S. OK, maybe I'm badmouthing it too much. I just didn't have much fun at all in my recent 2yrs there. As long as you're visiting someone whose company you enjoy - well, I guess that's a good enough reason to brave the pounding relentless demon sun.
