*Peers from behind the land of no forum* Is this thing on? Testing...1.2.3.

Wow...I missed this place. :(

Good to see a tonne of good news these days after our brief bout with psillie withdrawl.

Just checking in from the fair city of Winnipeg to let you all know things are good for me as well. I am going out to buy some locally made gluten-free beer tomorrow night. It's amazing. :) They have some in the hotel bar where I am staying, and I can only assume it would be less expensive else where.

*yawn* but now I must get some sleep.

Morning Sillies!

We had a nifty storm overnight but I was given Robitussen with Codene so I slept very well! :):)

I am only here for a little while this morning and then I am leaving to see my sister! I am so excited!

See all you sillies later :)

Morning, Sillies!

All is right with the world....our technical difficulties seem behind us. Thanks so much, Patti and Ptaoughmghmn, for the emails to keep me sane. They kept the worst scaries at bay. :)

RYAN! Home-brewed, gluten-free beer??! And it's inexpensive? man, what we would give.....Here in Ottawa our only choice is La Messagere, brewed in Quebec. Tastes rather like dishwater, and it is $17.50 for a six-pack. Yes, a SIX-pack!!

Sarah, I am so sorry about all this sh!t in your life. You're such a good mom, and an upbeat, hilarious person......why you?? :manymoremadfaces:

You are in my heart....I'm thinking about you........

A wedding today! Amanda, what happy news.....hope you feel good enough to enjoy the ceremony and festivities afterward.

Emily,

It's not really a home brew. Fort Garry Breweries is the name of the company, and the beer is called Nu Bru! (Hey...it even works with psillie pspelling :D ) Apparently it's only slightly less expensive than La Messagere, but to buy a 6 pack has to be cheaper than buying them from the hotel bar.

Well, more courses this morning on how to make my small military museum a little better.

Have a good day psillies.

Amanda, enjoy the wedding... :)

Poor Sawah........a walking talking mood ring ( RUN!!!....Mom's turning blue!!! :o )......and now uncontrollable projectile leakage ( this is not on Edna's itinerary! <_< )......and unwanted Mickey visitations ( a gluten free mouse? :P )

"Life is not a problem to solve, but a mystery to experience"....I am sure you would like a little less *mysterious experiences* right now......hope things get better for you really soon....hang in there.

We are just doing a small dinner afterwards....I am not looking forward to the drive in the rain.....very ugly day here!

Mornin Sillies! :D

I gotta pack a lot into this post.....I'm on our desk top re: the slowest loading computer in the western world <_< Matt is away again until Sunday and, old softie that I am, I told him to take me lap top. Every page takes minutes to load--I'm not kidding.

So....Have a wonderful day, Amanda :) Glad to hear that you got some good sleep last night, finally!

Hi Ryan--that gluten-free beer sounds excellent! Can't believe how expensive the stuff is up there--at least we have Redbridge which isn't so bad. :)

Judy--I know....it's not going to be as as blasted hot today, but it's very humid  I think it's seeping into me brain

Sarah--you poor thing :( That vomiting sounds absolutely wretched--Gawd, I hope that stops at once. You're a fantastic mom, and your kids know that--look at all you're handling and your first thought is always those two boys. Feel better, sweetie ;):)

Where's Jess? I guess she must be pretty busy at work.

Hi Em :D Yep--all's right with the world.....would be righter if I had me own computer, but what ya gonna do? :P

I'll be back later.....I think I'll try and re-boot this thing again

Carry on Sillies! :D

Judy! Very bizarre that the multiple quote system isn't working for you....you're hitting the quote button at the bottom of each post from which you want to quote, the one with the plus sign beside it, then when you have them all picked you hit ADD REPLY? Strange it is not working for you......I cannot imagine negotiating this thread without picking out Sillies' dialogues...... <_<

Yes, and now with clean teeth.

Planning to have my hysteria removed Aug 18th so I'm trying to get as much done as possible (hair cut and hiighlighted-check, teeth fabulous-check, nails done-wait on that one, house de-furred-check). What else do I need?

Having the hysters removed--eh? Well, I'll tell ya, girlfriend, the only thing I regret about having mine was that I didn't do it 15 years ago. ;)

You sound like you're on top of things.....do check with the hospital about the gluten-free situation. I was able to provide all of my own food, so there were no worries there. Make sure they write on your chart in numerous places that you are gluten intolerant and that all of your meds have to be gluten-free, too.

Jess, if you ever want to chat or anything I'm here :)

Patti....absolutely nothing personal, here....but I was getting a little tired of looking at our boobs.

Cannot find the group shot of us all........must check our laptop.....

Jess! August 18th is the big day........

You'll always be hysterical 'round here........

;):)

Let's see, what else do you need....you seem to have everything covered.....

Trying to think of a reason for you to possibly need DD's infamous, too-small-but-perfectly-good goalie pads.

This would make a fascinating, cryptic advertisement in the classifieds:

Woman having just gone through hysterectomy, in need of goalie pads in pristine condition ASAP.......

:rolleyes::lol:

I agree  Time to retire the boobature :D

Although, keep it handy--you never know when it will be appropriate to display them again ;):P

Computer is working a bit faster.....the phone is also very static-y, so it all may have something to do with the storms last night. Hope so anyway.....

Well this is interesting.....I can do multiple quotes just phine on this computer, but on me laptop each time I hit "quote" it pops me back up to the top of the page. I can still do it that way, but it's more time consuming and annoying.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
    • nanny marley
I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
    • trents
You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.
