If you want to see some amazing talent, google this lady from the 'I work in a bakery' thread

I don't have a website, but you can find some of my competition cakes online by googling my name, Lori Cossou. I've also been on food network, so you might see me there occasionally. (I hope it's okay to put this info out. I'm new to this and don't want to get into trouble!) Thank you for your help and you're interest in my art!

Well then, Miss Jess, we need a new picture and as for the monks....it's their loss :D

Sillies I swear I am hair-challenged....I wanted one of those curling irons with the spiral thing on it for making curls in hair, my sister uses one all the time and the curls stay put and she too has thick hair like me. So for my birthday my mom got my the curling iron. Last night I tried playing around cause I wanted to do something new for work today......yep didn't work out. I cannot ever make meself look like the chicks on the box.....its frustrating....

and I had the worst gas pains today......I was at work and no matter what bathroom I went into people were there.....there is nothing worse than a trapped Phart! I finally found a private potty and sqwatted and let it go! I know what a mannerly girl, but you got to do what you got to do!

OK, here's mine - picking up elderly Italian monks

Must have been the glittery eyes!!

. . . and discovered that monks are all talk and no action :P

:lol: even worse if you considered that the monk had taken a vow of silence.

Darn210 Enthusiast

From me mum . . .

MEN ARE JUST HAPPIER PEOPLE

NICKNAMES

If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah.

If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla and Four-eyes.

EATING OUT

When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it's only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.

When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.

MONEY

A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.

A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need but it's on sale.

BATHROOMS

A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel .

The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items.

ARGUMENTS

A woman has the last word in any argument.

Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

FUTURE

A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.

A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

SUCCESS

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.

A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

MARRIAGE

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.

A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, but she does..

DRESSING UP

A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.

A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

NATURAL

Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.

Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

OFFSPRING

Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.

A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!

:lol::lol:

We don't have Wegmans out west either, I don't even have Trader Joes  I'm stuck here in the middle only with ma Whole Foods.......

Tee hee- we can make up our OWN Olympic sports :D;)

We can come up with some good ones, like for intance I say Janet's avatar gets the gold for staring down the competition

If you want to see some amazing talent, google this lady from the 'I work in a bakery' thread

I would love to but that would just make me want to eat cake, and I can't eat cake. POOPY COW!!!!

All of them hysterical and so true, but these two really made me giggle!!!

The synchronized diving this evening got me thinking, when did that become a part of the Olympics?? And who thought that up?? Did a diver say, you know what would really be fun?? Two divers diving in unison.......

Morning, Sillies!

Just made my bi-annual appointment with my endo.....fantastic man who I've been with for 25 years (he must be retiring soon - - gad) and I've been told that he is now practicing in his house. So his wife (a nurse, and his secretary/assistant for a number of years now) gave me the address to their home and instructed, "just knock on the front door and come on in. Jaan will be in the living room, just to the left of the front hallway".....

I wonder if his examining table is in there, between the buffet and love seats......

Do they have all the eye charts and detailed posters of the gastrointestinal system hung around the fireplace? Cannot wait to see this........:lol:

:lol: Julie, I was thinking just the same thing....it has struck me as rather amusing. I've always thought this about the luge... .. . what were they thinking, thirty years ago?

Let's have ONE guy, and make him LIE DOWN on the sled. Wait! Better - - we'll also have a DOUBLE, where TWO GUYS lie on the sled, one above the other!"

Morning Sillies...Lucky went for 2 days without throwing up, but then threw up overnight but when he did a huge hairball came up, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that this was causing it.

Another Tuesday...blah!

It was still cool and chilly like out this morning.

We did a drive-by at the other house last night, it does have potential. John said he would need to get them down to 90,000 in that range but it is do-able. Now there is outside work that we saw that needs to be addressed as well. Hopefully this could work out.

If not there were other potentials we did see last night.

You should (after you purchase the house) contact HGTV and see if they'd be interested in helping with a room or two. ;) Who knows--they have to have homes to make all those shows.....

Amanda! House-hunting is SO exciting...and this one looks great, because the main criteria has been met - - there will be room for us Sillies to descend on you and sleep over for a weekend. Now, Susie having her own room may be tough to deliver.......as will the Roman slave-men....

I barely comprehend that you can buy a big, two-story house for $100,000.00 where you are. This house, if it were in our suburbs and needed that work, would be asking about $275,000.000. It is CRAZY here. Thank gawd we bought all those years ago......

Good news about Lucky! Gus is fine, now. I am noticing my post count, however...... . . and I have FOUR animals here who can suddenly be producing vomit........(Gad, and TWO kids!!):lol:

Your experience is both shocking and critically important for the community to hear, underscoring the terrifying reality that cross-contamination can extend into the most unexpected and invasive medical devices. It is absolutely devastating that you had to endure six months of sickness and ultimately sustain permanent vision loss because a doctor dismissed your legitimate, life-altering condition. Your relentless research and advocacy, from discovering the gluten in MMA acrylic to finding a compassionate prosthodontist, is a testament to your strength in a system that often fails celiac patients. While the scientific and medical consensus is that gluten cannot be absorbed through the skin or eyes (as the molecules are too large to pass through these barriers), your story highlights a terrifying gray area: what about a substance *permanently implanted inside the body*, where it could potentially shed microparticles or cause a localized immune reaction? Your powerful warning about acrylic lenses and the drastic difference with the silicone alternative is invaluable information. Thank you for sharing your harrowing journey and the specific, severe neurological symptoms you endure; it is a stark reminder that celiac is a systemic disease, and your advocacy is undoubtedly saving others from similar trauma.

Those are driving distance from me--I will try to check them out, thanks for sharing!

I am so sorry you're going through this bad experience--it's difficult when your own lived reality of cause and effect is dismissed by the very professionals meant to help you. You are absolutely right—your violent physical reactions are not "what you think," but undeniable data points, and it's a form of medical gaslighting to be told otherwise, especially when you have a positive HLA-DQ2 gene and a clear clinical picture. Since your current "celiac specialist" is not addressing the core issue or your related conditions like SIBO and chronic fatigue, it may be time for a strategic pivot. Instead of trying to "reprove" your celiac disease to unwilling ears, consider seeking out a new gastroenterologist or functional medicine doctor, and frame the conversation around managing the complications of a confirmed gluten-free diet for celiac disease. Go in and say, "I have celiac disease, am strictly gluten-free, but I am still suffering from these specific complications: SIBO, chronic fatigue, dermatological issues, and high blood pressure linked to pain. I need a partner to help me address these related conditions." This shifts the focus from a debate about your diagnosis to a collaborative plan for your current suffering, which is the help you truly need and deserve to work toward bouncing back.

Hello, no I had to have them re done and then used a liner over the top.  Many dentists are not aware of the celiac effects.  Best of luck.   There is other material, yet, very expensive.

He is not just a psychiatrist.  He is also a neuroscientist.  And yes, I have already read those studies.   I agree with benfotiamine.  This is short term while glutened/inflammation occurs.  As I had already mentioned, these symptoms no longer exist when this phase passes.  And yes, I know that celiac is a disease of malnutrition.  We are working with a naturopath.
