Every year John and I do adopt an Angel through the Salvation Army. We pick a name off a tree and buy gifts for an underprivledged child. It is always a lot of fun.

It's true, there is absolutely nothing like the feeling of giving to someone who really needs yer help - - especially a child. :):)

Hey! There's a newbie named Eric who's posted over in the coping section.....he's put up a link to a very cool site where you can find humourous celiac T shirts and other paraphrenalia. He states that there "isn't much celiac humour around here".

I think I'd best respond to his post and inform him of Sillyville....get him over here....don't ya think?

Sillies - today, whilst minding my own business and at a stoplight......I had a sudden, quite pleasurable guffaw.....maybe an out-loud snort, really.......there was a big, shiny SUV in front of me.......and in small letters - maybe an inch tall - these words had been taped (quite professionally, I might add) on the back window:

I couldn't sleep last night because I've been so immobile. My body hurts from not moving.

If the rain stops for a few hours I'll go for a walk, but does anyone have suggestions of exercise that doesn't involve the abdominal muscles? Or lifting?

I am so bad at being not well. Follow up is 1 month after surgery.

Stopping the pain meds was a good idea. Made me much more aware of when I was overdoing it.

I'll try doing gentle stretches throughout the day. Maybe just being in a multitude of positions will help, even if they aren't strenuous.

um.......I do recall your crazy at-home doctor but when I first read this, I thought you were having an ENDOSCOPY in his living room. I'm sorry, I really do think that that procedure should be done in a medical facility.......not on someone's divan.......

Yes, hopefully not too much tidying up and scrubbing/vacuuming for you there today.....but maybe you can bake some cookies with teh missus........

Patti's right, you should ONLY be gently walking. NO vigorous swinging with those men, either! OMG - I am a really good patient  Could loll in bed for days (as long as someone's feeding me and tending to Weez).........

Patti's the expert here for sure.

Agree here-----I just know that for me.....after surgeries I found that going off the pain meds made me much more aware of 'overdoing it' too.

I think just changing positions and moving when you can will help with the stiffness........and body aches.

each day will make it better........

Em good luck at the Dr today

No endoscopy scheduled today........and at least his specialty is NOT in gynecology. Think I'd be slowly backing toward the door if upon entering I saw metal stirrups affixed to his chest freezer........ . . . . ... :o:lol:

Yep, I sure can't do what I was doing ten years ago. :( I'm slower, less flexible......my hair isn't as nice........well, that's not an exercise thing, but |I could go on and on.....

Jess! Walking is really good! Grab an umbrella and go......Not long, and not quickly...... .. but even a half-hour stroll would be excellent! Yes, I agree with you about easy stretching. Do that when you get back.

How long are you off work?

Cold/flu or gluten poisoning? Hello. I've had another similar episode. I find it very difficult to differentiate between the symptoms of a cold or flu and those caused by gluten poisoning. In fact, I don't know if my current worsening is due to having eaten something that disagreed with me or if the cold I have has caused my body, which is hypersensitive, to produce symptoms similar to those of gluten poisoning.

I'm no longer dealing with constipation. I got my liver test last month and it was in normal range. Two years ago I did have a vitamin D deficiency but I'm know taking vitamin D3 pills. Last month I got my vitamin D checked and it was in normal range. I don't believe I've had my choline checked. However, I do drink almond milk eat Greek yogurt on a daily basis.

Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) can be associated with low ferritin and iron deficiency. Once Celiac Disease (1% of the population affected) has been ruled out by tests the next step is to check for Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (10% of the population affected) by eliminating gluten for a trial period, then re-introduce Gluten Challange. Have you been supplementing Iron? How are your liver enzymes? Low levels of ferritin indicate iron deficiency, while  59% transferrin saturation indicates high iron levels.  Possibly indicating Fatty Liver Disease.  Choline is crucial for liver health, and deficiency is a known trigger for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver.  Some experts say that less than 10% eat the the Food and Nutrition Board established Adequate Intake that are based on the prevention of liver damage. Severe constipation and hemorrhoids may be linked to a bile or choline deficiency.  "Ninety-five percent of phospholipids (PLs) in bile is secreted as phosphatidylcholine or lecithin."  Fatty acid composition of phospholipids in bile in man   Deficiency of these bile salts causes the bile to get thick. Some people with Celiac Disease are misdiagnosed with Gall Bladder bile issues.  Removal of the gallbladder provides only temporary relief. Whether or not celiac disease or NCGS are your issues you need to look at your vitamin D blood level.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.
