. . . he looks great . . . how could anyone throw him out!!!

Another heeeeelarryus piece of this tale. .. ....

From where did he come?

Was he modeling male wigs? Neckties?

For what reason was he disposed of? He no longer had the "look"?

I must uncover more information: exactly what other businesses are in this building .. . ..

Maybe Will has had him in his office all this time. Just as a friend, to bounce ideas off.....

:lol::lol:

Speaking of guys' names..........

In this school system I have heard of some.....er.........rather unique names.......

The pronunciations of two names in particular are strange enough....

Dee-OH-gee (sounds Hispanic)

Shi-THEED (Middle-eastern, maybe?)

If you haven't figured out already, they are spelled...

DOG

and...

Sh!thead

YAY Jess!!!!!!!!!!

Sh!thead

I am rather partial to Russell Smythe for the head/bust thingy.......

Well, one of those names could work . .. .....

All right. Will and I are heading out back for our nightly soak in the hot tub. I think I will bring out my new head, see if it will float around.. .. . . .

Any nosy neighboUrs will think I'm languishing in the suds with TWO gentlemen.... . ..

A real HO TUB......... . :rolleyes:B)

Name suggestion--Phileas Phogg!! :D Ya gotta admit, it's pretty sillie B)

Could prop him on one's treadmill .. . . rather like a coxswain, ordering one forward. . . . .

*snort*

I do love the word coxswain

From where did he come?

Was he modeling male wigs? Neckties?

For what reason was he disposed of? He no longer had the "look"?

 Oh, the musing's of Em's Mad Mind

Um.......you know, he does have a rather odd, twisted look about his pose, note how hard his neck is straining rather backwards. Was he perhaps a whiplash victim? Suffered an untoward fate and was discarded?

oh yes, Em, you MUST get to the bottom of this. Please go, take him with you, and question EVERY SINGLE PERSON in Will's building

I am in total agreement here. Just love the name Smythe, esp. now since I know how posh it is. Was thinking of using it (Smythe) as Weezee's last name on her phacebook page

in other news..........

SILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Must tell you of my complete irritation with some people going on marijuana cleanup trip this week (I am not going)

They wrote in their fool intolerances - one is gluten-intolerant, and one cannot eat soy. Several vegetarians (is is Santa Cruz area, after all  )

Now, of COURSE you now that I TOTALLY know how to handle this but.......I looked at Shane and said.....I just can't IMAGINE, writing to an organization that prepares food en masse, going on my first trip with said organization, and expecting that they even KNOW WHAT IN HELL GLUTEN IS????????????? Shane and the other cooks had never HEARD of gluten until I came along.

and SOY? mygawd, there's soy in.......our pancake batter, the margarine, the salad dressings, all the condiments, the cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, the cheese ravioli, probably even the hamburger patties from SAm's Club, the pre-made ready-to-bake cookies.......what am I missing? Sheesh, there's soy in EVERYTHING, right? She has to live on chicken breasts and cheese and veggies the whole weekend? ( I told Shane to call her)

So - these people just casually email that they can't eat these things, when there's a crowd of 40 to feed over three days................

so - I called the celiac and spoke to her myself - - told her she REALLY should bring enough food to cover herself in case she can't eat anything (I could not eat a single thing on the menu except eggs and cottage cheese, but she's also DAIRY-intolerant) and she'd be reimbursed.

the noive.

I rather fancy that he is looking over his shoulder........a guilty conscience?.......a rogue of sorts?

What if bad luck has befallen the last owner......and all owners before........each one trying to rid themselves of the spell..........but, as always, he is found again...........and the curse continues......

Maybe he's the guy with the lighter.......Chet.........poor guy.......that's all that's left of him :o

Aargh double . . .. .dunno if it's too many electronics or what but connectivity too too spotty & intermittent in the ASIC lab.

[bonus question!!! Who knows - w/out looking it up ya cheater - what ASIC means in the chip world?]

OK then . ...anyone know if there's a nice Urban Dictionary-type word for the forced immediate viewing of TIVO'd/DVR'd recordings when it's 100% full & nothing's just "eh" deleteable, but space MUST be made for recording shows that will air while out, say, at work?

I HAD to - HAD TO - watch 2 hrs worth today tho didn't really have time for it!!!!!!!!!

I feel only partly close to generating a suitable term for this phenomenon :(

Incidentally, I believe this would be yet another terrific moniker for the Man-head.

ASIC.

Sounds rather Northern European . . .....Slavic or Russian . . .. ...must examine face and see if there are any signs of this heritage.

Hmmmm.... .. Leeeesa, you may be onto something... . ...a curse.... . .a Russian hex... .. .

He does have his head in a somewhat awkward position - - not so much looking over his shoulder as drawing back, perhaps to avoid a blow or acrid smell. . . ......

His strange, Mona-Lisa type smile must be a clue. Somewhat smirkish. . . . maybe a bit of a leer. . ..... .

So phunny. . . . Will put the Head on one of our dining room chairs, and every time I walk by it this morning I jump, adrenline surging. . . . . ...

Mornin sillies B)

A fond Veterans Day and Remembrance Day to all :)

Pataghumn--oh how I wish we lived closer together!! I love rearranging furniture, setting up kitchens, phiguring out how to "balance" a room, etc. We've owned 9 different houses to date with the same core group of furnishings, kitchen stuff, Mark's tatt, etc.

It's always a challenge to make it all jive with a different conphiguration, but I love it! :D Yep--I could hook you right up

Welcome home, Amanda. :) I trust all is going well wif yer dad's recovery? Take some time now to settle back in and breath a bit ;)

On a nuther note--I had another dream that contained several sillies. I was moving again, it gets jumbled up after that, but this seems to be a reoccuring theme wif me as of late. :P

Ok--got nuthin else......pellet stove on the blink already <_< They are sending someone out--possibly as soon as this afternoon. No way I'm turning on that damn oil firnace--it's the principle of the thing!

Funny. NPR just did a piece on lower gas prices and mentioned that the drop in price has not increased consumption. It's people like you who refuse to overuse our limited resources that are keeping the economy in the dumps. Do you really want to put 'saving money' ahead of 'oil company profits'? Think about it. 'm sure you'll come up with the right answer. :P

Hmm......how about Erique? Sounds francais........very suave.

Hi Amanda- How are things? Been thinking about you lots.

I dont think I am ever going to catch up with everything I missed last week--here at work. I get something finished and then turn around and there is like a stack of 15 other things to get done....crazy times!

Hopefully my dad will get home tomorrow. It will be nice I know to have him home again :)

Perfect Man, Perfect Woman

Random joke:

There was a perfect man and a perfect woman. They met each other at a perfect party. They dated for two perfect years. They had the perfect wedding and the perfect honeymoon. They had two perfect children.

One day the perfect man and the perfect woman were driving in there perfect car, they saw an elf by the side of the road, being the perfect people they were they picked him up.

Well as the perfect man and the perfect woman were driving with the elf, somehow they got into an accident. Two people died and one lived.

Who died and who lived?

The perfect woman, because the perfect man and elves aren't real.

I agree, there can be contamination at many points--milling is another possible source of contamination for any flours.

Keep in mind that with manufactured food products, "gluten free" doesn't equate to no gluten. Things that are naturally gluten free can be cross-contaminated with gluten in the field, in shipping and in processing. In the U.S. companies can use the gluten free label as long as the product doesn't exceed 20ppm of gluten. That amount still may cause a reaction in some people.

Dd10 was tested for celiac four years ago bc two siblings were dx’d (positive labs and biopsies). Her results at the time were positive ema  and ttg (7x the UL), but a negative biopsy. We checked again three months later and her ttg was still positive (4x the UL), but ema and biopsy were negative. Doc said it was “potential celiac” and to keep eating gluten, but we were concerned about harming her growth and development while young and had her go gluten-free because we felt the labs and ema in particular were very suggestive of early celiac, despite the negative biopsies. She also had stomach aches and lethargy when eating it. We just felt it’d be better to be safe than sorry. Now, four years later, she doesn’t want to be gluten-free if she doesn’t “have to be,” so underwent a 12 week gluten challenge. She had labs done before starting and all looked great (celiac panel all negative, as expected.) Surprisingly, she experienced no noticeable symptoms when she began eating gluten again, which we felt was a positive sign. However, 12 weeks in, her labs are positive again (ttg 4x the UL and ema positive again as well). Doc says that since she feels fine and her previous two biopsies showed nothing, she can just keep eating gluten and we could maybe biopsy again in two years. I was looking up the ema test and the probability of having not just one but two false positives, and it seems ridiculously low.  Any advice? Would you biopsy again? She’s old enough at this point that I really feel I need her buy-in to keep her gluten-free, and she feels that if the doc says it’s fine, then that’s the final word — which makes me inclined to biopsy again and hope that it actually shows damage this time (not because I want her to have celiac like her sisters, but because I kind of think she already does have it, and seeing the damage now would save her more severe damage in the long run that would come from just continuing to eat gluten for a few more years before testing again.)  Our doc is great - we really like him. But we are very confused and want to protect her. One of her older sibs stopped growing and has lots of teeth problems and all that jazz from not catching the celiac disease sooner, and we don’t want to get to that point with the younger sis. fwiw- she doesn’t mind the biopsy at all. It’s at a children’s hospital and she thinks it’s kind of fun. So it’s not like that would stress her out or anything.

Thanks for the replies. I already use a gluten-free brand of buckwheat flakes I occasionally get itchy bumps. I'm still reviewing all my food products. I occasionally eat prepackaged gluten-free crackers and cookies, so I'll stop using those. I use buckwheat flakes and Doves Farm flour as a base for baking. Would you recommend eliminating those as well? It's a constant search.

Gluten free food is not fortified with vitamins and minerals as regular food is.  Vitamin deficiencies are common especially in recently diagnosed persons,  Get a 25(OH)Vitamin D blood test. And work on raising it.  The safe upper blood level is around 200 nmol/L.    "Low serum levels of 25(OH)D have been associated with increased risk of autoimmune disease onset and/or high disease activity. The role of vitamin D in autoimmune diseases   🏋️‍♂️Good job!   I find the commercial milk will give me mild stomach burn at night, while pasture/grassfed only milk does not bother me at all.  While you are healing, listen to your body.  If it hurts to eat something, eat something else.  You may be able to eat it later, or maybe it is just not good for you.  Lower your Omega 6 to 3 ratio of what you eat.  Most omega 6 fatty acids are inflammation causing.    The standard american diet omega 6:3 ratio is estimated at upward of 14:1.  Thats why fish oil works
