OMG....have missed a plethora of happenings. . . . ...

Corner barphing!! BAH HA!!

I must have missed this post of Nik's announcing Pson of Psilly heading to Gay Paree. . . .....how exciting!

And this Family Guy episode!!! I don't watch it, so I will have to youtube it.....and I must tell big Les.......

Actually, the first 30 seconds of the movie Fatal Attraction shows Michael Douglas's two children sitting in front of the TV, and the camera spends quite a bit of time on the screen to show YCDTOT, and my dad .. . . .....quite cool. Too bad he didn't get a bigger part, get in wif that looney Glenn Close. . . . ..

...they fired 3 people today and eliminated the afternoon shift...........scary stuff.

.....just keep me laughing, psillies.....that's all I ask. :)

Of course, Leeeeesargh! Thinking about you guys....these are frightening times. :(

Ok- I must make a small rant on Paddi's day! Don't you hate when you have plans with someone and then something comes up and you must change the plans but you can't get a hold of the person cause they dont answer house or cell phones? It is one thing when you are busy but when you are napping..... Now if I dont show up and they do I'll feel bad....

another crazy day at the job- I am accountable for 200 patients-- found that out today..now thats even darker shiznit.

Hi Amanda! Yikes, in charge of 200 patients. The pressure.....

Hope you get a hold of your friend :)

OH EM-UH-LEE!!!!....last night we were watching 'Family Guy'.....on it the family were gathered around the tv watching....'You can't do that on television'!!!

I screeched ..'that's Em's Dad!!!!!'

Tel looked at me like this ---->:lol: (I later explained the phenomenon that IS Les Lye :) )

 What a spot Nik!

I have never watched Family Guy so I have nawt a clue what it's about, but how fantastic YCDTOT got a shout out :D

PATTEIGHHHHH!!!!!!..........Did you check yer flair?

Hubby and I are holding our breath.......his place of business is tightening the bootstraps. They cut production on Thursdays and Fridays. Then they offered a buyout to anyone who would quit........11 people took it. We thought that might keep them from firing people, but no....they fired 3 people today and eliminated the afternoon shift...........scary stuff.

.....just keep me laughing, psillies.....that's all I ask. :)

Aw Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear this :( You and your hubby will be in my thoughts and crossing fingers that everything turns out okay.

Speaking of flair, I sent out the "Kitteh" and the "Thumbs Up" one did yall get it??

 SO phunnee. .. . ..! Hey, my dad should be getting residual payments fer that kinda thing - - must inform him.

Nik, was it a cartoon of YCDTOT, or the real film footage? I ask because Dad told me a couple of years ago that he was sitting in front of the TV late one night, flipping along, and suddenly, THERE HE WAS, as a cartoon character! What a feeling. . ....turns out, it was an animated version of the show....he didn't even know about it.

Yes, thank gawd they were not like me, a babyzilla......think I would have died. Me poor mom, she must have had to take me out in my carriage very early in the morning, or late at night, to avoid the frozen, polite smiles, the wide-eyed looks of horror and sympathy...."Oh! Well, now... ....what an interesting li'l face on her!"

 Just noticing Sophie's face in me av... .....she looks rather too innocent, methinks. Jack lies yelling beside her, and her hand is out of view, under the covers.......think she's giving him a loving, sisterly pinch. Must give her hell. . . . .....

Morning Sillies-

Lisa keepin ya in my prayers and thoughts.

I would like to also let everyone know that my John's job is questionable- they may be laying off in the next few months so we are on the verge of figuring out where to go next with that- he does have 2 oppurtunities on the horizon. One he must get a CDL for but the job would allow him home every night. I am excited for that as well.

My 200 patients are doing well this morning--I hear the rumblings that 1 more will be added today and another 2 next week--

hmm, goo vibes. I guess I could use a little more goo in my knee. Might make it feel better.

The whole experience is expected to last less than 2 hours, from showing my face at the door, to showing my heiny to the door as I leave.

Not too late. Heading out in about 15 minutes. A bunch of hospitals here are all within 5 blocks of each other, including the one where I work, so I'll be walking to my knee surgery

Just checking in! I've been playing outside raking up leaves. It is a gorjus day!!! I'm so dang tired it's not phunny.....but I can't waste a day like today. Gonna be crappy for the next few. 'Bout an hour ago I chased 7 deer out of the yard....they've stripped just about everything...even stuff they don't normally eat. My neighbor has a bunch of little white pine trees, about 4-5 feet tall. Not a needle on any of them!!! The deer are so beautiful, as long as they are not in MY yard.

Hate to tell you this....but KNEE GOO does not work well in Boobies. Unless of course you want them to articulate :lol: You'd think that I would learn to edit my typing before I post it. When I'm feeling decent I can just type away and not think about it....about 1/2 the time I can't type to save my life! All depends on the phog

I'm just poopin in to say hi, I been busy lately. I was reading about the 'whiz' conflict, thought I might just straighten all that out for everyone.

Whiz: Brainiac. Noun. As in, "Math Whiz."

Wizz: Pee. Noun/verb. As in, "Take a wizz.''

Whizz: Something flying past your head at high speed makes this noise. Adverb(I think). As in, "The Frisbee whizzed pasted my head."

There, hope that clears it up for ya!!!!

I haven't got enough to articulate or sag....which suits me just fine! :D I can't say I ever wanted them to be bigger.....I always figgered they'd just get it the way, or causing back problems, and if I ever have to wear name tags I'm never tempted to name them both :lol:<_<

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.
    • SilkieFairy
It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/
