sillies!!!!!!!!!!!

Peter - thinking of Ollie - gorgeous cat! snoozing in front of screen of all the chicanery going on here at c.com

Yes, a very good thing you know what you're doing, with the insulin and all....... :)

Happy St Patricks Day, anybody besides me celebrating it/or their Irishness?

used to love to go out on this day....now it's like New Year's Eve......amateur night <_<

so - I don't even try any more.

and somehow, it really isn't too special here in the 'No

I think we have two "pubs," and last year, the line was winding through the parking lot at the one by my house at 5 pm so.........NoooooooOOOOOOOooooooooo.

OK, last night Lyle wakes me up around 2:30 for food. Fine. My fault. I clearly didn't leave out enough of what he wanted that night.

But then, this morning, I discover on my bedroom floor, a tail, with a bit of hind leg attached!

Clearly he had eaten dinner out, so what was the point of waking me up??? Dessert?

 x 10 but that is gross.......a tail and PART of a hing leg :vomit:

Oh YOU GUYS!!!

 x 10

Old school psillyness!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean!.. ONLY you guys could go from an innocent Zucchini/Courgette soup to French maid's outfit ...with feathers???..(.or is it just Paddeigh that wears feathers?? )

All you cat owners wif dead animals (and bits) . . . amatuers I say!!! . . . My MaggieDog brought a live opossum into the house. When one of yer animals brings in something bigger and liver than a opossum, then you can bump MaggieDog from the top of the charts. She also used to kill moles in our yard. The neighbors always remarked how lucky we were to have her take care of any moles . . . yeah, right . . . you would not believe the canyons she would dig to retrieve a mole . . . plus their weird lookin'

oh dear gawd!!!!!!! possoms in the house......live ones?????? fearsome and crazy.....good dog Maggie!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't you be if you were being dragged into Janet's house.

*snickerdoodle*

got nowt else sills.......quiet day here.........lovely weather........must walk now. the boys have gone off on some silly adventure for the next few days so.....I am off ALL WEEK!!!!!!!!! :o

:poorbutpleased:

but may lose my mind slightly..........

Is Padt driving to Texas now, as we speak???

Quite the camouflage job, what with Ollie being the same coloUr as yer desk, Peter . . . could hardly see him at all!!:lol:

If you look carefully, you can see the corner of the coloUr-matched file folder containing the paperwork in question protruding from under his abdomen.

sillies - - I am so sorry but I have the two cutest pets in the world

Every night, Kitteh Boy (what IS his name  ) comes onto the bed and grooms Weez for at least 10 minutes........cutest thing, just licking and licking her.....Weez has her eyes half-closed in this heretofore unknown state of kitteh love bliss  I can't even TAKE it.......then, they snuggle together in some fashion.......have posted a new photo of those two, spooning............

I have about.............500 new photos of those two canoodling and cavorting together.....might have to put some on facebook and bore everyone to DEATH

but Kitteh is just a total love......gives a jaunty little "meow" like a "HI!" when you walk into the room.........and a SCREEEEEEEAMING meow when he wants something quite urgently......

puts his wee paw up to my face to give some love, a gentle touch to the cheek at times......rests his paw on the Weez's snout at night, right after the grooming

I SERIOUSLY cannot take it

:)

I have no life

Awwww Psuessle...sounds like a GREAT life to me!!!! Your stories just about melt my heart and make me pheel all warm inside! You are so blessed with pure boundless, baseless love. Lucky you :):wub::wub:

Oh!!! Almost forgot . . . I have a Skeeter story to tell.

I'm not sure where this came from, but apparently leprechaun's are out and about on St. Patrick's Day eve . . .:lol::lol: . . . so Skeeter has left notes for a leprechaun in her room giving him permission to build forts with her blanket and swing on her ceiling fan. She also wrote that St. Patrick's Day is her favoUrite holiday. Wait till Santa hears about this!!!

just luuuv yer stories! Thanks for sharing. Makes me miss my "little Andy Bean"....who is far from little anymore! :D

This afternoon I went to a talk given by a woman I worked with for two years. Five years a go she went to Pittsburgh, and she came back to give a talk on her research.

I saw her in the hallway before the talk and she looked at me, and that sort of light dawned and she said 'oh hi' and gave me a brief hug. Then she went into the room and stood up at the podium for 5 minutes as the room filled up.

I felt sort of brushed off. I mean, I know this woman's sex stories, for heaven's sake....

Anyway, it occurred to me later that maybe she didn't really recognize me. I'm 50 pounds lighter, have blond (and grey  ) hair that's about 2 feet shorter than it used to be, and I'm not depressed. Maybe she only sorta knew who I was.

Jgesss....sounds to me like she knew she should have known you...couldn't quite place you, and probably had a head full of the talk she was about to give. Gotta give people the right to be as goffed up as the rest of us

Today being St. Patrick's Day, perhaps that should be O'Possum.

Here's the promised photo of Ollie.

Pieter!!!! He looks so much like my Ivan did!!! Instant love on my part for Ollie! I'm sad that he's having difficulties.....but I'm sure he'll be fine with such a good caretaker.

Here I am....just filling up space by myselph...that's ok. The best way for me to remember stuff is to reply to each as I go along.....so I'm just going along.....

Wanted to add a quick story.....my older sister has cats. Come to think of it....of 8 children....we are ALL cat people  ...anyway she had a fellow years ago who loved to catch squirrels and chipmunks, bring them inside and set them free! I think he thought they were great playtoys, and if they were in the house he could catch them later to play with! My sister did *NOT* think this was a fun game!

Hope everybody is doing all right. Psuess....you are sounding a bit better.....I'm so glad, if that's the case. Catch y'all later (maybe I'll even set you free in the house)

We're getting back on the road in a phew minutes--plan to get to Mississippi by tonight.

Allo is doing pretty well so far--he seems to like his new cat carrier. Slept/rested nicely in it the whole drive down here, but all night long was up wandering around the room, climbing over us, and meowing. I'm sure he's wondering WIH is going on!

Morning Sillies-

Patti--there is a gap in PA now---miss you already,

My uncle is improving--Thanks to everyone for keeping us all in your prayers..He was brought off the ventilater yesterday. He is talking and starting to realize what has happened. When he does finally get discharged he will be going to a nursing home for 6-8 weeks until he is able to care for himself.

Our one audit starts today and then the big audit starts tomorrow...the stress is taking its toll on the office....nerves are getting to me and I feel thats why I feel a little out of it this morning.

Well better get some things started.

OK Keyboard musicians, I expect to see something like this from you pretty soon.

Mornin', gang!

COMPUTER'S AVAILABLE! Just shoved away a posse of teenagers rushing towards the same machine, kids shaking, mumbling and drooling with the DTs. . . . . ....

Sooooozie's kitteh loves brussel sprouts?? Insanely bizarre - - and very fitting 'round here. . . ..I absolutely adore this latest pic, Soooze. Something out of the newspaper....in fact, you should email some of those shots to your local paper. They would likely be printed....or send them to Barack and his family. The pics would be passed all around Capitol Hill, come into the international debates and the UN briefings - - "How in hell do we maintain any kind of peace in this new, crazed world? Well, take a look at this". . . . ...

Pahteigh! been really thinking about you.....off to Mississippi!

It's a treat to beat your feet

On the Mississippi mud. . . . . ...

Mornin psillybodies! It's a gorgeous sunshiny day and I don't have to go anywhere!!! Yippeeee, I'm off to play in the dirt any minute now! Dragging my feet a bit....was cold and frosty overnight...and my poor Mandevilla was left outside (was only supposed to get to 40 last night). I hope it survives. :D

Psuess.......why is a 2 legged fellow necessary to make your life complete? (or even normal!).....I learned at a young age that my life WAS complete as it was and that a "companion" would be a nice addition, but not necessary for my survival. I used to get angry with people telling me...."oh, you'll find somebody" (this is at a time when I was definitely NOT looking). I DID find someone.....after 20 years of singlehood, after my son was grown and on his own, at a point in my life when I was really ready for someone. I found my someone when I was NOT looking. (I have to add that in lonely periods of time when I did look around there were plenty of "bottom feeders" in the pond). Life is complete in and of itself as you live it. If you focus on what is lacking you just make yourself unhappy (I'm speaking in general terms, not you, specifically). Be happy with yourself and where you are and the rest will follow.

Ok, that's it for todays lecture. Hope I'm not offending anyone when I do that......

Keeping our struggling psillies in prayer. Pah-tay, have a safe and wonderfull trip (re you taking any side trips to see the wonders of the south?) Glad you are having good weather for it! 'Till later!

Dd10 was tested for celiac four years ago bc two siblings were dx’d (positive labs and biopsies). Her results at the time were positive ema  and ttg (7x the UL), but a negative biopsy. We checked again three months later and her ttg was still positive (4x the UL), but ema and biopsy were negative. Doc said it was “potential celiac” and to keep eating gluten, but we were concerned about harming her growth and development while young and had her go gluten-free because we felt the labs and ema in particular were very suggestive of early celiac, despite the negative biopsies. She also had stomach aches and lethargy when eating it. We just felt it’d be better to be safe than sorry. Now, four years later, she doesn’t want to be gluten-free if she doesn’t “have to be,” so underwent a 12 week gluten challenge. She had labs done before starting and all looked great (celiac panel all negative, as expected.) Surprisingly, she experienced no noticeable symptoms when she began eating gluten again, which we felt was a positive sign. However, 12 weeks in, her labs are positive again (ttg 4x the UL and ema positive again as well). Doc says that since she feels fine and her previous two biopsies showed nothing, she can just keep eating gluten and we could maybe biopsy again in two years. I was looking up the ema test and the probability of having not just one but two false positives, and it seems ridiculously low.  Any advice? Would you biopsy again? She’s old enough at this point that I really feel I need her buy-in to keep her gluten-free, and she feels that if the doc says it’s fine, then that’s the final word — which makes me inclined to biopsy again and hope that it actually shows damage this time (not because I want her to have celiac like her sisters, but because I kind of think she already does have it, and seeing the damage now would save her more severe damage in the long run that would come from just continuing to eat gluten for a few more years before testing again.)  Our doc is great - we really like him. But we are very confused and want to protect her. One of her older sibs stopped growing and has lots of teeth problems and all that jazz from not catching the celiac disease sooner, and we don’t want to get to that point with the younger sis. fwiw- she doesn’t mind the biopsy at all. It’s at a children’s hospital and she thinks it’s kind of fun. So it’s not like that would stress her out or anything.

Thanks for the replies. I already use a gluten-free brand of buckwheat flakes I occasionally get itchy bumps. I'm still reviewing all my food products. I occasionally eat prepackaged gluten-free crackers and cookies, so I'll stop using those. I use buckwheat flakes and Doves Farm flour as a base for baking. Would you recommend eliminating those as well? It's a constant search.

Gluten free food is not fortified with vitamins and minerals as regular food is.  Vitamin deficiencies are common especially in recently diagnosed persons,  Get a 25(OH)Vitamin D blood test. And work on raising it.  The safe upper blood level is around 200 nmol/L.    "Low serum levels of 25(OH)D have been associated with increased risk of autoimmune disease onset and/or high disease activity. The role of vitamin D in autoimmune diseases   🏋️‍♂️Good job!   I find the commercial milk will give me mild stomach burn at night, while pasture/grassfed only milk does not bother me at all.  While you are healing, listen to your body.  If it hurts to eat something, eat something else.  You may be able to eat it later, or maybe it is just not good for you.  Lower your Omega 6 to 3 ratio of what you eat.  Most omega 6 fatty acids are inflammation causing.    The standard american diet omega 6:3 ratio is estimated at upward of 14:1.  Thats why fish oil works
    • Inkie
I  notice a reaction to tea bags, possibly due to gluten or other substances. Is this recognizable?
    • trents
The blood tests you had done are not the main ones. The two main ones are the "Total IGA" (to check for IGA deficiency) and the "TTG-IGA". Current guidelines for the "gluten challenge" when people have been gluten free for a significant time period are the daily consumption of at least10g of gluten (about the amount in 4-6 slices of wheat bread) for at least two weeks leading up to the day of the blood draw. That should give you some perspective.
