Sorry if I offended you.. I was referring to the fact that as celiac flattens the villa, there are some illness that elongate them, and that I was coming (growing) out of my bad mood. I can be lewd, but this time it was an accident.

Rules Nos. 1 and 2:

1. Nevah apologise

2. Nevah explain--make them work for it.

And here's Rule No.3:

Just up the wackl!!!   And this time you did that, even if by accident. Sometimes some of the best wackl is quite accidental...

Susan (ranger),

The sillies are a special group of people. You can say anything here--we won't take offense and you needn't apologize. I am reminded tonight of this quotation from Erich Segal's Love Story:

Love means never having to say you're sorry.

Glorious summery weather. Phinally spent a day just relaxing (last day of vacation). Actually went swimming floating in the pool. Just what I needed. Wish every one of you could have been here with me....what fun that would be!

He still talks to me  <in my early thirties I wrote him a letter of apology for my mean-ness>

Been thinking SO MUCH about last night's incident. Um, I think I really was way too harsh with the kid. Alas, the LOUDNESS of his pummeling and - not knowing what he was doing - was he attacking/shooting my car? did nae know - this caused me to run out in rage. And he kept running so....I kept chasing  and I was SCREAMING the whole time, wanting to enlist neighbors' help....but it does crack me up that the kid was scared out of his mind - of ME

<am a bit worried about him coming back to kill me er sumfin, though  >

but next time, I will just give a STERN admonition and tongue-lashing and, talk to any miscreant about turning from his evil ways.

Also, per facebook recommendations, will pelt said malfeasor with red velvet cupcakes, whilst having white cream cheese adn red crumbs smeared upon me face.

That oughtta do it.

Hi all--so much sillie today to comment on, so I'll give a big <snort>, , and  to cover it all.

UPDATE:

We were just watching the end of Mad Men when Mark spotted the bug in the kitchen. He threw my sandal at it, but missed and it ran under the fridge.

After the show, we moved the fridge, it ran under the stove. Undaunted, and now determined, Mark moved the stove forward whilst I stood ready with the vacuum cleaner attachment. This time, I caught the little sucker--sucked him in, whipped the bag out of the machine into the trash, took the whole bag and dropped it down the garbage shute.

Took 48 hours, but we got em :D

Good morning, Psills!

I lay awake last night, tossing about, and my mind alighted on Jyesss's chicken tractor.

I could nae stop wondering about this, and thinking, "what in hell IS that? Why in hell didn't I immediately ask about it, as here I am, unable to sleep, ruminating over this mystery"...... . . . ...

I have been picturing a Little Tykes-type tractor that the civckebs can climb into, be pushed around in... . ..

And something ELSE swirling around in me brain through the night - - who has the sandpaper flannel sheets? Nik, I think..... .. . ..but flannelette is the warmest, cosiest fabric goin'.... . . ...you guys are outfitting yer beds with flannel sheets in the height of summer?! GADS. Cannot conceive of this, and was tossing about even MORE as a result, thinking of meself wrapped up in flannel, sweating. ..... .

And NOW I will probably lay awake tonight, obsessing over whether or not that big, black doomed bug at Patteigh's place was the same critter that she'd seen the day before, or its accomplice, covering the kitchen territory... ........ . . <_<

remember when someone actually had to ASK who the grEy figure was showing up in people's posts...

:lol: Yes! There was an entire thread of inquiry..... . . ....unfortunately, it did not result in any newcomers joining into this world of madness, as we had hoped.......I think we really are a little frightening... . . . .......

Dang......did it again and yeah I should admit I am 63 with clumsy phone thumbs. I started feeling better quickly and a doctor a year later said I had to eat  poison (gluten) every day for a month so he could formally diagnose me and NO FREAKING WAY. I couldn't then and can't imagine putting my body through that crap (no pun intended) on purpose ever again.  Why ingest poison for a month to have some doctor say Hey, All you Have To Do Is Never Eat poison Again..

15 years ago my best friend 'diagnosed' me as Celiac. Her little nephew had been formally diagnosed and her observations of me dealing with brain fog, stomach problems and other stuff had her convincing me to try going gluten free. Oh my heavens, within 3 days, no lie, I felt human again. Took me about a y

It seems like you have two choices--do a proper gluten challenge and get re-tested, or just go gluten-free because you already know that it is gluten that is causing your symptoms. In order to screen someone for celiac disease they need to be eating gluten daily, a lot of it--they usually recommend at least 2 slices of wheat bread daily for 6-8 weeks before a blood screening, and at least 2 weeks before an endoscopy (a colonoscopy is no used to diagnose celiac disease). Normally the blood panel is your first step, and if you have ANY positive results there for celiac disease the next step would be to take biopsies of your villi via an endoscopy given by a gastroenterologist.  More info on the blood tests and the gluten challenge beforehand is below: The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:   Not to discourage you from a formal diagnosis, but once you are diagnosed it may lead to higher life and medical insurance rates (things will be changing quickly in the USA with the ACA starting in 2026), as well as the need to disclose it on job applications. While I do think it's best to know for sure--especially because all of your first degree relatives should also get screened for it--I also want to disclose some negative possibilities around a formal diagnosis that you may want to also consider.
    • Wheatwacked
Yes.  Now, if you hit your finger with a hammer once, wouldn't you do your best not to do it again?  You have identified a direct connection between gluten and pain.  Gluten is your hammer.  Now you have to decide if you need a medical diagnosis.  Some countries have aid benefits tgat you can get if you have the diagnosis, but you must continue eating a gluten-normal diet while pursuing the diagnosis. Otherwise the only reason to continue eating gluten is social. There are over 200 symptoms that could be a result of celiac disease.. Celiac Disease and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity  both cause multiple vitamin and mineral deficiency.  Dealing with that should help your recovery, even while eating gluten.  Phosphatidyl Choline supplements can help your gut if digesting fats is a problem,  Consider that any medications you take could be causing some of the symptoms, aside from gluten.
