Reminds me that my older son used to poke holes in a package of Peeps and let them dry out before eating them--he liked them so much better that way. :) He said they got "crusty"..... :P

well....yuh!!!!

.....and I used to let my graham crackers sit out cuz they would soften up :P

Ummmmmm......about those + and - buttons where you can vote a post up or down.......then it looks like you get a reputation.

......is that good or bad?????

.....oooohhhhhhhh.......I know.......you probably get a positive or a negative number there.

Does everyone see what your reputation is?........gawd........whose idea was that?

Sorry to disappoint you, but this psilly doesn't drink :o

Me own mum tried to make a social drinker outta me, but it didn't woik!

......but I'll have me blankie, cafe mocha, and a good book ^_^

A gal after my own heart, I'd take a mocha over the rum anyday! I talk big, but rarely drink--secret's out. I'm usually the designated driver BUT I do have now 16 bottles of vodka in my freezer :P I do like me vodka, just not phreeckwently :D I pheel like I need it more than I drink it!

What??? You HATE peeps??? :o

You must not have tried all the different varieties and different coloUrs, otherwise you would know . . . OK, yeah, they DO all taste the same . . . but how cute are they??? Doesn't that count for something??

Yes, I HATE Peeps. The problem is, they are so darned cute that you just want to take a bite out of them, hence my issue. Last year the kids BEGGED me at Christmas time to get the star shaped peppermint Peeps to put in their hot cocoa-both hated them and wouldn't even drink their cocoa. It was like eating whipped toothpaste

Holy Smores!!! (<---- That's so appropriate in more ways than one :lol: ) Your peeps talk and predict the weather??? OK, ummm, I've never seen that variety at the store . . . only the little chicks and bunnies at Easter, and snowmen and trees at Christmas, and some ghosta or summat at Halloween. Yeah, so maybe your peeps don't taste so good . . .:lol:

I actually have a friend that dated one of them a few years ago. She said that too.....mentioned something like drinking bleach :o

:lol::lol::lol:

well....yuh!!!!

.....and I used to let my graham crackers sit out cuz they would soften up :P

Don't you think there's something wrong there? Aren't crackers and cookies supposed to get stale and custy, not soft?:P

Whot in hell are these li'l things.....Peeps? Sound rather yuck.. . ..... .....whipped toothpaste..... Like the Twinkie, they probably have no discernable shelf life, and could be left in the back of one's cupboard for eight years, pulled out and -- good as new..!

Lisa - you know Em is laffing at us . . . but we're the ones that will get the day off (hopefully) . . . who'll be laffing then???

Sounds just like the Deutschlanders. Temp -30 (F); nothing but ice and frostbite everywhere, and the little uns struggling to school, wearing four layers of everything which it takes 20 minutes to put on and 20 minutes to take off again; shop assistants in fancy establishments allowed to wear Uggs (iffen they had had them then), but furlined boots and wearing tights under their trews, because "the show must go on." But come summer, they turn into wusses. Gets to 90 degreess (F), they close the schools!!! :o:rolleyes:

Well, the kids had school today . . . not even a delay. Smakl was sooooo disappointed he almost teared up at breakfast. Then to make matters worse, the kids weren't even allowed out to play in the snow at recess (we really don't get too many good snowfalls) because 3/4 of the kids didn't wear(or bring) hats/gloves (boots aren't required to go out but you have to stay in the 'cleared' area). Really?? These are elementary school kids . . . they still listen to their parents (for the most part) so why didn't the parents prepare these kids to deal with 6 inches of snow??!!! GAH!!!

I thought for sure we would have lots of no-shows at the preschool . . . NOPE. I think we were missing 4 kids total and I know one of those was because he was sick. Don't get me wrong, I'm not scared to drive in the snow, but if you don't have to, why would you?

Love Big Bang Theory . . . would love to see Sheldon in "real life". He plays his role so well, you think he's probably really like that.

Stop Cocks and Ball Cocks . . . yeah, it was about time that conversation circled around again.

Best line of the day (from Shroomie): Check out his thumbs first afore ye waste the time fumbling in the snow for his stopcock

yep. And there was someone there named Frank, but not anyone I really worked with.

OK, I called the number (from work, which goes through a central switchboard). There is a long connect time, then it goes directly into voicemail which has an answering message of "...yes, leave me a message"

creepy?

Hi Christiana, Many thanks for your response.  Interestingly, I too cannot eat wheat in France without feeling effects (much less than in the US, but won't indulge nonetheless).  I also understand children are screened for celiac in Italy prior to starting their education. Wise idea as it seems my grandson has the beginning symptoms (several celiacs in his dad's family), but parents continue to think he's just being difficult.  Argh.  There's a test I took that diagnosed gluten sensitivity in 2014 via Entero Labs, and am planning on having done again.  Truth be told, I'm hoping it's the bromine/additives/preservatives as I miss breads and pastas terribly when home here in the states!  Be well and here's to our guts healing ❤️

Lol that’s so true! Hope you get clarity, it’s tough when there’s doubt. There’s so much known about celiac disease with all the scientific research that’s been done so far yet practically and clinically there’s also so much unknown, still. Out of curiosity what’s her dairy consumption like? Even compared to early years to now? Has that changed? Calcium is dependent in the mechanism of antigen presenting cells in the gut. High calcium foods with gluten grains can initiate inflammation greater.  This is why breakfast cereals and milk combo long term can be a ticking time bomb for genetically susceptible celiacs (not a scientific statement by any means but my current personal opinion based on reasoning at present). Milk and wheat are the top culprits for food sensitivity. Especially in childhood. There are also patient cases of antibodies normalising in celiac children who had milk protein intolerance/ delayed type allergy. Some asymptomatic. There were a couple of cases of suspected celiacs that turned out to have milk protein intolerance that normalised antibodies on a gluten containing diet. Then there were others that only normalised antibodies once gluten and milk was eliminated. Milk kept the antibodies positive. Celiac disease is complicated to say the least.

And thank you for your encouragement. I am glad that her body is doing a good job fighting it. I also just want clarity for her moving forwards. She was only 6 for the last round of testing and she's 10 now, so I'm also hoping that makes a difference. It was weird during her last round of testing though, because right before her biopsy, we'd upped her gluten intake by giving her biscuits made from straight up vital wheat gluten, and her labs actually normalized slightly (lower ttg and her ema went negative). Bodies just do weird things sometimes! lol
    • deanna1ynne
The first negative biopsy in 2021 just said "no pathological change" for all the samples, and the second one in 2022 said "Duodenal mucosa with mild reactive change (focal foveolar metaplasia) and preserved villous architecture." So I think Marsh score 0 in both cases, though it's not actually written in the pathology reports. I'm really hoping to get a clear positive result this time, just for her sake.
    • Wends
Hopefully the biopsy gives a conclusive and correct diagnosis for your daughter. Im in the UK and have been in the situation a few years ago of trying to rule celiac in or out after inconclusive results. Many symptoms pointing to it including the classic symptoms and weight loss and folate and iron deficiency. You have to play a waiting game. I also had the label of IBS and likely food allergy. Genetic test showed low risk for celiac but not no risk. It sounds like the Gastroenterologist is on it and hopefully will diagnose what it is correctly. Food hypersensitivity (allergy) can also cause similar symptoms and inflammation as well as mimicking IBS. Milk / dairy and wheat (cereal grains) being the biggest culprits. The “oesophagitis” and “gastritis” you mentioned can be caused by another gastrointestinal disorder called “eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders”. These are named depending on which part of the gastrointestinal tract is affected. For example eosinophilic oesophagitis, eosinophilic gastritis, eosinophilic gastroenteritis, and more rare eosinophilic colitis. They are antigen (allergen) driven. When the blood test measuring anti-ttg antibodies is positive in absence of a positive ema test - which is more specific to celiac, this can also suggest food hypersensitivity (allergy). Usually delayed type allergy similar to celiac but not autoimmune if that makes sense. In this case the ttg antibodies are transient. Which happens. I’ve first hand experience. For info, evidence of villous atrophy too can be caused by food hypersensitivity. Not just by celiac disease. In Egid disorders the six food elimination diet, under a dietitian and gastroenterologist care, is the dietary protocol to figure out the culprit or culprits. Sometimes only two food elimination diet is used at first. The number one culprit is milk protein / dairy. Followed by wheat, eggs, soy, fish and seafood, and nuts. Most are only reactive to one food group or two. Most are only reactive to milk. Hope this is a helpful reply.
