Helloooooooo??????

Where is everyone????

Well, Skeeter has her GI appt today. I figure we won't have any answers for a while. This will just be the appt to start testing for certain things. I'm leaning towards an allergy at this point . . . although I don't know what it's an allergy of . . . but benedryl seemed to make her stop regurgitating for a while. Since it made her sleepy, we switched to Clariten, but that doesn't seem to work as well. The antacids are all cr@p at this point.

I really hope they figure something out, SOON!!

We were dealing with Max and a horribly bloody nose yesterday, totally random but wouldn't stop. He was flipping out because it was getting all over his shirt, so he kept wiping it on his arm to keep it from his clothes  He only gets them about once a year for no rhyme or reason (other than maybe his finger is permenantly fixed inside <_< ) Other than that, just pure exhaustion. I phell asleep on the couch in front of the tv. Woke up at 1am, wondering where the hell I was...

Still tired today. Not sure why...

Gahhh.....every year, right at the end of January until the end of February, I will get sudden nosebleeds. I don't often have my finger stuck up there, so the reason escapes me. . . ....dry winter air, perhaps? DD gets them at this time, too, but not like me. Had one this morning whilst sitting on the toilet. A good place, actually. . . . . . . ...TP was right there.

Interestingly, I began to wonder some time ago if I could use this sudden windfall blood in my blood glucose-testing regime. I ran some of this nasal blood through my test metre, then tested some from a finger-prick. They were the same, exactly! Excellent. This, however, brings much more attention to me when I am out in public and suddenly get a bleeder. I'm rifling through my purse for my testing strips, my held held up - - then trying to swab my nose tactfully with a solid, acceptable drop of blood.... . . . I lately begin to wonder if it is worth it . . .. .... ...

But hey! It's free blood. . . . . . . ....... . .

Then there's the whole prospect of menstrual blood. Don't think I'm goin' there.. . . . . ....

We live in the Pacific Northwest--no chance of dry winter weather here  I do think it must have sumphin to do wif his dirty little finger and jagged chewed on fingernails, the little heathen :P

Tis jeenius, this nose bleed/testing strip thing you do, I hates the finger pokes!

As far as the menstrual issue, just stick a tampon up yer nose to collect the blood you need for your strips, then you just need to carry tampons in yer purse and you won't have blood dripping all over the place

I actually did think of this, but then had an even more ingenious idea: I need to invent a big blood-testing machine that would accept sanitary pads in lieu of test strips.

Well, I would buy one.. .. . . . .....

Verdict . . . gastroparesis . . . again . . . Skeeter was diagnosed with this when she was first diagnosed with Celiac disease and after about 10 months gluten free, it appeared to be resolved. Original doc (that I loved) thought it was caused by the Celiac disease. This new doc (because the doc I loved moved to Canada . . . curse you Canadians for stealing my pedGI) gave no opinion why it's back. Totally dismissed the majority of info that I provided. Told me things couldn't have happened that did (must have just been coincidence, huh? <_< ) Totally does not believe that she is having any kind of an allergic reaction even though benedryl helped. Said the rash around her mouth was dry skin. I had to ask for a Celiac panel-I wanted to make sure I was still thorough enough-he "didn't think it was necessary, but more than happy to request the test." I'm sorry, but I think if you're a Celiac and all of a sudden having problems, the first thing you should do is make sure the blood panel is still clean. The first time I met with him, I liked him. The second time, I didn't. I was hoping the second time was a fluke . . . guess I was wrong. The practice won't let me switch to any of the other GI's within that practice. I'm headed back to the pediatrician for a new recommendation . . . or maybe she can get me switched.

HellooOoooOOoo, Ptaoughmghmn! :):) Love your av.... . but this is problematic. .. . ... .....how in hell are you going to get back in here regularly if ya got a blank screen?

What in hell is going on, here?

SO. . .. . .......Olympics begin in just over a week. There is no real snow in the hills of Vancouver where the main events are happening, as it has been very spring-like for some time. We may just have to abruptly switch scheduling with London, and start the Summer Games here next week. London can do the winter event in 2012.

May be a tad chilly for the triathletes and the tennis players. . . . .....

In recognition of the Big Event this weekend, here is one of the beautiful ads that I missed from last year:

Did someone mention horses? I love those Clydesdales!

I have been MIA- tough week. My BIL's dad passed away (fairly quickly- diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer right before Christmas) and it's my mom's birthday tomorrow. My whole family is pretty down. But alas, this too shall pass....

Need to make others laugh so......let's see. Hmmm....my hubby has informed me that men across the country are protesting Valentine's Day by declaring April 14 Steak and a BJ day. Has anyone seen this? Has it made it to the Da Book yet?

All I know is ain't NO WAY I'm making a steak. :P

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.
    • asaT
i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
    • nanny marley
I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
